128: Chapter 128 The Tower of Time and Space!

Renault's smile grew even more radiant as he quickly made a "please" gesture and turned to lead the way.

His three teammates fanned out in a coordinated manner, faintly shielding Lu Yin's group of four in the middle.

It looked like a protective stance, but it carried a subtle hint of surveillance.

As Renault walked, the surrounding scenery gradually became bizarre and kaleidoscopic.

At times, fragmented afterimages appeared, and at others, it turned into a void of starry sky.

After walking for about half an hour, the surrounding space-time turbulence grew increasingly intense.

"We're here."

Renault suddenly stopped and pointed to a distorted space-time vortex ahead.

"The special scenario is inside that vortex."

Everyone looked in the direction he pointed, seeing an inconspicuous space-time vortex slowly rotating.

If one didn't look closely, it would be easy to miss.

"Please follow me."

Renault took the lead, entering the vortex without hesitation.

His figure distorted along with the vortex and vanished within it in the blink of an eye.

Lu Yin's eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze fell on the slowly rotating space-time vortex.

In the center of the vortex, a small and exquisite tower silhouette was faintly visible, looking out of place amidst the surrounding shattered space-time scenery, as if it existed independently of space and time.

"This tower..." Milian whispered with a frown, "I've never seen it in any records of the Rift of Time."

"Let's go in first." Lu Yin said calmly, taking the first step into the vortex.

After a bout of dizziness, everyone appeared in front of an ancient stone tower.

The tower was five stories high, built entirely of grayish-white stone.

Its surface was covered in strange patterns, faintly emitting space-time fluctuations.

"This is the Tower of Time."

Renault turned and smiled, but there seemed to be a subtle, imperceptible strangeness in his smile.

"The Tower of Time has five floors, each with a different trial."

"It is said that the team that passes all the trials can obtain unexpected rewards."

"How do we enter?" Lu Yin asked.

"It's simple; just press your palm against the tower door."

As Renault spoke, he was the first to press his hand against the door.

Ripples appeared on the tower door, and a light screen emerged, displaying the words: 'Team Size: 4/8'.

Lu Yin glanced at the light screen and knew Renault wasn't lying.

Without hesitation, he pressed his hand against the light screen. Milian and the other two followed suit.

When all eight palms touched the tower door, the entire tower suddenly began to vibrate, and the patterns on its surface lit up with a silver glow.

"Prepare to enter!" Renault shouted.

The tower door slowly opened, revealing a deep, dark passage inside.

An ancient and mysterious aura rushed towards them.

"According to our agreement, our two teams will take turns leading the way."

Renault looked at Lu Yin: "How about we explore the first floor first?"

Lu Yin nodded in agreement and signaled for Renault's team to go ahead.

The four members of Renault's team entered one by one, with Lu Yin and the others following closely behind.

The inside of the tower was surprisingly silent, with only the faint sound of their footsteps echoing in the empty hall.

A Silver Clock floated in the center, emitting a soft but impossible-to-ignore light that illuminated the entire first-floor hall like daylight.

"Be careful, it's unnaturally quiet here," Milian warned in a low voice.

Lu Yin nodded and signaled for the Three Women to stand behind him.

He didn't summon the Death Soldier immediately, wanting to test what Renault and his team were up to.

The four members of Renault's team advanced in a diamond formation, with Renault, the Warrior, at the front.

The Mage and Priest were in the middle, while the Archer kept watch at the very back.

Lu Yin and the other three followed at a suitable distance, allowing them to support each other without getting in each other's way in case of an emergency.

But as all eight of them stepped into the central area of the hall, a sudden change occurred!

Clang!

The floating Silver Clock suddenly let out a low chime, and the hands on the dial began to spin wildly counter-clockwise.

The strange patterns on the floor, walls, and ceiling of the entire hall lit up simultaneously, silver light flowing to form a massive and complex magic circle.

"What is this?!"

Everyone was startled at once.

In an instant, the scenery within the hall began to distort and overlap.

In the originally empty space, several illusions like time fragments suddenly appeared.

The illusions within those time fragments began to solidify; an Ancient Knight's sword tip sliced through the air with sharp killing intent.

There were also terrifying-looking giant beasts breathing out startling beams of light.

"Everyone, be careful!"

Seeing the sudden appearance of these scenes, Renault shouted loudly.

Just as he finished speaking, several knight phantoms were already charging towards the team.

Renault met the attack with his sword and shield, only to be surprised to find that his weapon passed directly through the phantom.

However, the phantom's longsword struck his shield solidly, producing a loud metallic clang.

"Physical immunity?" Renault's expression changed. "Mage, use magic attacks!"

"Thunderbolt Strike!"

The Mage of Renault's team immediately chanted a spell, and a dazzling bolt of lightning blasted out, accurately hitting the knight phantom.

However, something surprising happened.

The lightning, just like Renault's longsword before, passed directly through the knight phantom without causing any damage.

"These phantoms seem to be immune to all attacks!"

The Mage in Renault's team cried out in surprise, his face full of disbelief.

Refusing to believe it, he tried other skills again, but the phantom remained completely unharmed.

"Let me try."

The Archer in the back fired an arrow, which streaked toward the knight phantom with a sharp whistling sound.

But at the moment of contact, it passed through as if shooting into a void and pinned itself to the wall behind.

"All types of attacks are ineffective?!"

Everyone's expressions changed drastically at this moment.

The illusions ignored the shock in everyone's hearts, and more and more illusions began to solidify from the time fragments.

Not only were there knights and giant beasts, but illusions of Ancient Wizards holding staves also appeared.

With a wave of their hands, they summoned scorching fireballs and ice spikes, hurling them toward the group.

"These attacks are real!"

Renault raised his shield in front to block a fireball, the scorching airwave making his arm feel hot.

Lu Yin and Milian's group of three stood at the very back; his eyes narrowed as he observed the entire situation.

The illusions couldn't be attacked, but their attacks could actually affect Renault and the others.

This rule was very bizarre and difficult to grasp.

But any Dungeon has a pattern to follow.

Suddenly, he noticed the Silver Clock floating above everyone's heads.

Before they had entered, the clock's hands were completely stationary.

But now, they were spinning wildly counter-clockwise.

"It seems the problem lies with that clock."

While everyone was in chaos, Lu Yin's gaze remained locked on the floating Silver Clock.

As the phantom attacks became more frequent, the clock's hands seemed to be spinning even faster.

"Hold them off, we'll attack that clock."

Lu Yin realized what was happening and immediately shouted a reminder.

Hearing Lu Yin's voice, a subtle, imperceptible look flashed through Renault's eyes, but it quickly returned to normal.
