17: Chapter 17 Black Lizard Earth Dragon!

About half an hour later, a gloomy mountain range came into view.

The entrance to the mountain range was shrouded in thick black mist; even from a distance, one could feel the dangerous aura emanating from within.

“It's right there,” Lin Wei said, pointing ahead.

“The Gloomy Cave is deep within this mountain range.”

Lu Yin nodded and signaled the Rampaging Mountain Boar King to stop.

The Three Women jumped off the boar's back, their faces looking somewhat pale.

The bumps and jolts along the way had truly been quite unpleasant.

Lu Yin stood at the entrance of the Gloomy Cave, where the black mist swirled like a living thing, carrying a bone-chilling coldness.

Lin Wei and the other two had pale faces; they could clearly feel the dangerous aura coming from the depths of the cave, which was far stronger than any place they had encountered before.

“Not bad, the monsters here are indeed high-level.”

Lu Yin whispered to himself, a flash of excitement in his eyes.

With a wave of his hand, twenty Death Soldier immediately lined up in front of him.

The Dark Moon Wolf King crouched low by his side, its crimson eyes scanning the surroundings alertly.

“Wait here,” Lu Yin said without looking back, stepping toward the depths of the cave.

“Alright, then be careful,” Lin Wei couldn't help but remind him, her voice filled with worry.

The interior of the cave was even darker and damper than imagined, with a foul, rotting stench permeating the air. The stone walls were covered in glowing moss, providing a faint source of light for the dark space.

Before he had gone far, a rustling sound came from ahead.

Lu Yin's eyes narrowed as he saw several massive, pitch-black spiders dropping down from the cave ceiling.

【Shadow Spider Demon (Elite)】

【Level: 25】

【Strength: 580, Constitution: 550】

【Agility: 590, Spirit: 520】

【Skills: Venom Spray, Cobweb Binding】

“These monsters are perfect for expanding my Death Legion,” Lu Yin's lips curled slightly.

The number of his soldiers had currently been maintained at 20; it wasn't that he didn't want to expand, but rather that the attributes of the monsters he'd seen weren't high enough.

Since the Death Soldier could not level up, he tried to convert higher-level Death Soldier to prevent wasting too many souls of death.

Watching the attacking spider demons, the Dark Moon Wolf King let out a low growl and pounced like a black shadow.

Simultaneously, the twenty Death Soldier also moved, blasting the spider swarm with various moves carrying the aura of death.

-789! -3024! -4136!

Astounding damage numbers jumped frantically; the Level 25 elite monsters were vulnerable before Lu Yin's summons.

【Ding! You killed a Shadow Spider Demon, experience points increased by 50!】

【Ding! You killed a Shadow Spider Demon, experience points increased by 50!】

【...】

The speed of experience gain had clearly increased, making Lu Yin nod in satisfaction.

At this rate, as long as there were enough monsters, he could level up to Level 15 in a day.

It might even be possible to reach Level 20 before the National Examination.

He vaguely remembered that last year's National Examination top scorer was a Level 20 Mythic Professional.

Not only did that person receive a large amount of student aid rewards, but they were also admitted to the First Academy of the Holy Hall Academy.

Lu Yin's goal was naturally to be this year's top scorer as well.

As he continued deeper, everywhere he went, all the monsters he encountered were instantly turned into experience points.

Lu Yin also took some time to replace his previous low-level Death Soldier with elite monsters from the Gloomy Cave.

The attributes of these elite monsters already exceeded those of the Dark Moon Wolf King.

However, since the Dark Moon Wolf King was suitable for riding, Lu Yin did not replace it.

Lu Yin continued deeper, and gradually, the atmosphere inside the cave began to feel unusual.

The dark energy in the air grew thicker, even forming a tangible black mist.

A low rumbling sound came from the distance, causing the entire cave to vibrate slightly.

“As expected, there is a BOSS.” A look of anticipation flashed in Lu Yin's eyes.

He quickened his pace, moving forward along the main passage of the cave.

The deeper he went, the denser the glowing moss on the cave walls became, illuminating the entire cave in an eerie ghostly green.

Turning a corner, the view suddenly opened up.

A huge underground cavern appeared before him, with countless stalactites hanging from the ceiling and pools of water emitting a dark aura scattered across the ground.

And in the center of the cavern, a gargantuan creature lay prone.

It was a giant lizard covered in black scales, with sharp bone spikes growing along its spine.

It seemed to be sleeping, each breath creating a small whirlwind.

【Black Lizard Earth Dragon (Field BOSS)】

【Level: 30】

【Strength: 1850, Constitution: 1900】

【Agility: 1780, Spirit: 1750】

【Skills: Earth-Cracking Impact, Dark Breath, Giant Maw Devour】

Lu Yin's eyes lit up: “Good attributes.”

He didn't hesitate and directly ordered an attack.

Forty elite-grade Death Soldier charged out simultaneously, their various techniques screaming in succession.

However, at the moment the Death Soldier's attacks were about to reach it, the Black Lizard Earth Dragon suddenly opened its eyes!

It let out an ear-splitting roar, and the entire cavern shook with it.

“Roar!”

The Black Lizard Earth Dragon suddenly reared up and slammed its front claws heavily onto the ground.

Earth-Cracking Impact!

Boom!

A huge crack spread out from it in all directions, and the intense shockwave sent the Death Soldier in the front tumbling backward.

-25! -357!

Damage numbers floated up from the heads of the Death Soldier.

Although it didn't cause too much damage, it was, after all, a creature with 'Dragon' in its name.

Even if it was just the lowest-tier Earth Dragon, its strength was evident.

Having repelled the Death Soldier with one strike, the Black Lizard Earth Dragon pressed its advantage; it raised its head, and a Dark Breath spewed forth!

-13! -124! -133!

Several Death Soldier were engulfed by the black torrent, taking a burst of continuous damage.

With a thought from Lu Yin, many Death Soldier charged against the black torrent, closing in on the Black Lizard Earth Dragon.

The Black Lizard Earth Dragon opened its bloody maw—Giant Maw Devour!

Chomp!

The Soldier of Death at the very front was swallowed into its belly, losing its connection with Lu Yin.

However, Lu Yin did not panic; this devour skill was not an instant kill.

Instead, it caused continuous health loss inside the belly; during this time, as long as he killed the Black Lizard Earth Dragon, his Soldier of Death would return intact.

Just as the other Death Soldier approached, the Rampaging Mountain Boar King activated its skill nearby.

Tusk Thrust!

It kicked the ground with its four hooves and charged toward the Black Lizard Earth Dragon with an astonishing momentum!

Boom!

-15467!

An astounding number appeared, causing the Black Lizard Earth Dragon's health bar to instantly lose a large chunk.

This Tusk Thrust accurately struck the Black Lizard Earth Dragon's flank, making it let out a roar of pain as its massive body stumbled.

Taking this opportunity, the other Death Soldier swarmed forward, and a massive amount of damage flew up, instantly emptying the Black Lizard Earth Dragon's health!
