14: Grand Tournament Draw

The Grand Disciple Recruitment Competition was straightforward, without excessive tricks; each side sent out their best Disciple to fight in an Arena, and the one who ultimately became the champion was the one who defeated the Disciples from the other Peaks and survived until the end.

The competition was divided into two divisions: the Qi Refining Disciple division and the Talent Disciple division.

Talent Disciples refer to newly admitted Disciples at the Foundation Establishment Stage and above. This year, there were an especially large number of Disciples above the Foundation Establishment Stage, and the Elders of the various Peaks frantically Cultivated their own Disciples during this period, hoping they would seize the champion title.

As long as they could recruit Disciples like Su Yao, they would have rendered a great service, and the Elders had promised them many benefits.

"Oh! Du Xian! That youth with excellent talent! It's said he joined Cai Xia Peak, one of the Upper Nine Peaks. I wonder if he can achieve any outstanding results this time."

"I don't think he'll make it. After all, when he first entered the sect, he was only at the Peak of Qi Refining. To quickly raise his cultivation, he must rely on Medicinal Pills, which harms one's own foundation."

"Haha, the beauties from Hundred Flowers Peak are still the best looking. Look at that little beauty, oh my god! Could it be..."

The scene at the Grand Competition was quite lively, with many Inner Sect Disciples even being drawn to watch. This was a grand event that occurred once a year.

If one performs outstandingly here, they might very well be directly accepted as a Personal Disciple by an Elder or the Chief of a certain Peak.

For an Outer Sect Disciple who wants to quickly advance to become an Inner Sect Disciple and enter the Thirty-Six Peaks of Tiangang, achieving a good result here is the fastest shortcut.

Therefore, many people were exerting themselves, ready to show off their skills and let the Elders see the results of their Cultivation during this period.

Since this Grand Competition concerned the ownership of the Prodigy Su Yao, most of the Chiefs and Elders were present.

Huang Bocheng looked around, but couldn't find Li Haotian's figure anywhere, and a sneer involuntarily appeared on his face.

Soon, others noticed this fact as well, and everyone couldn't help but start discussing it.

"Why hasn't Li Haotian arrived? He seems to be the only Chief who is absent."

"His only Disciple is participating in the Grand Competition, and if she doesn't win the champion title, she will leave him. Is he really not worried at all?"

"Haha, maybe he wobbled on his Flying Sword and fell down the mountain, after all, he's only at the Foundation Establishment Stage."

Everyone couldn't help but mock him. Hua Bujue, the Chief of Hundred Flowers Peak, showed a hint of disgust in her eyes. In her view, Su Yao should belong to her.

She was an extremely eccentric fanatic. Hundred Flowers Peak only had female Disciples and no male Disciples. Hua Bujue wanted to take any good-looking female Disciple under her command.

Su Yao was not only sweet-looking but also had a stunning figure, and with such talent, she would be perfect as Hua Bujue's successor in the future.

Seeing that Li Haotian disregarded Su Yao so much, she was immediately displeased. Was something she regarded as a treasure nothing in the eyes of others?

"He probably still wants to save some face. After all, if his Disciple is defeated and taken away in front of so many people, he will lose all dignity!"

"Furthermore, I suggest directly stripping him of his status as Su Yao's Revered Master! As a Revered Master, not showing up to watch his Personal Disciple's battle is simply a sign of disregarding his Disciple. Entrusting a Genius like Su Yao to him will only ruin her future!"

Hua Bujue's words resonated with everyone; they all felt the same way.

"He's probably severely injured or suffered a Qi Deviation while Cultivating right now."

Huang Bocheng grinned. Although the corpse of the Disciple he sent out was discovered, he believed Li Haotian must have been injured as well.

Even if the opponent had a life-saving method, it would still be extremely difficult to resist a Peak Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator.

"Hmph, wishing ill upon a fellow sect member, Chief Huang certainly has a peculiar elegance!"

Although Qin Tianfeng was also puzzled as to why Li Haotian was absent, he absolutely would not tolerate others slandering his Martial Nephew.

The two immediately exchanged glances, colliding fiercely, neither willing to yield.

Tianzhu Peak and Crouching Tiger Peak were originally evenly matched, and the conflict between the two Peaks was extremely intense. The two began bickering back and forth, completely disregarding appearances.

Seeing that the two were arguing more fiercely, seemingly showing signs of preparing to fight, everyone suppressed the smiles on their faces and quietly watched them.

If they dared to fight in this kind of setting, they would certainly face severe punishment, even if they were Chiefs.

"Silence!"

A majestic voice rang out, and the two, who had been fiercely arguing, instantly fell silent.

This person was the foremost individual beneath the current Heavenly Profound Sect Revered Master: Zhen Xuan, the Chief of Xuanji Peak!

Xuanji Peak was a behemoth that had always stood firm within the Heavenly Profound Sect, consistently ranking as the strongest Peak since its establishment.

This was related to the Cultivation Technique they practiced; experts of the same Realm could hardly be their opponents.

The moment he spoke, everyone immediately shut their mouths.

"Dong! Dong! Dong!"

Deafening drum sounds came from the Arena below, and everyone shifted their attention downwards.

Many young generation Disciples stood proudly on the Arena, their faces displaying arrogant expressions and confident smiles.

They were all young talents of the new generation, so naturally, none of them submitted to others. They each possessed their own pride, and for them, achieving good results and catching the attention of the Elders was more important than anything else.

The powerhouses from the two major divisions dispersed. The experts in the Qi Refining division gathered to draw lots, while those above Qi Refining were on another Arena.

Seeing so many Disciples in the talent division, the Chiefs exchanged glances, all showing a hint of surprise on their faces.

They basically all picked a batch of extremely talented Disciples and Cultivated them with full effort, helping them take a big step forward within these seven days.

Su Yao stood among the group of Disciples, looking somewhat out of place.

This was because no one spoke to her, and no one stood within a five-meter radius of her.

Everyone began drawing lots, and one Disciple after another stepped forward to draw their own Number Plate.

Once the referee called out their corresponding opponents, the battle would begin. Falling off the Arena or immediately fainting counted as a loss.

If you could hold out until the end, you won, regardless of the methods you used.

As the referee struck the drum more fiercely, everyone completed drawing their lots.

"Five Byes?"

Su Yao looked at the lot in her hand, a puzzled expression on her face.

She had won the jackpot; five Byes meant Su Yao didn't need to participate in the first five rounds of competition.

She would directly enter the Semi-finals.

Immortal Master Xuan Qing gently stroked his beard before turning and leaving. Although he really wanted to take Su Yao as a Disciple, he couldn't let Li Haotian lose too miserably. If Li Haotian's Disciple could reach the Semi-finals, Immortal Master Xuan Qing would have a reason to protect him for another year.
