42: Mountain Guardian Beast

"Actually, I've always thought highly of Wang Cai. His mouth is especially stubborn. The best way to make him talk is to hang him up and beat him."

As Li Haotian spoke, he pulled out a length of rope and tied it several times around a nearby large tree, then walked toward Wang Cai with a smiling face.

"Wait, wait! I'll tell you the truth! No, no! Don't hit me!"

Wang Cai frantically waved his two paws, his face showing extreme resistance.

Li Haotian pulled out the heaven slaying sword, adopting a posture ready to strike at any moment.

"You'd better tell me clearly, what exactly were you thinking just now?"

Looking at Li Haotian's kind smile, Wang Cai gave a mysterious grin.

At this moment, he was truly panicking. Why were the things he had just been thinking in his heart translated completely!

What he didn't know was that his Revered Master had already unlocked the corresponding Physique, allowing him to read the minds of animals.

Wang Cai wagged his tail, his ears drooping, looking extremely fawning, and revealing a rather wretched smile.

"Well, a few thousand years ago, I might have died once. I found a way and managed to revive with great difficulty. Now, how should I put it? All the Yao Race in this world were sent down by the Immortal Realm specifically to find me, their goal being to kill me right after my revival."

"They probably only appeared in this world in the last few millennia. I sensed the aura of old acquaintances—my former enemies. They must have specifically sent people down to find my Reincarnation and prepare to kill me."

Wang Cai originally wanted to flatter Li Haotian, but he was knocked over by a slap.

"Why didn't you say so when we signed the contract? Now that the contract is signed, you and my Disciple are already bound by Karma. If something happens to you, it will affect my Disciple."

Li Haotian's first reaction upon hearing this wasn't about the other party's origin, but rather anger, slapping him because this fellow dared to hide such important information.

Wang Cai was knocked down, his face showing fear. He scooted backward, seeing that this person was even more savage than himself and seemed to possess the power of a Great Emperor. He dared not entertain any thought of resistance; the memory of being brutally beaten before was still vivid.

"You hit me too hard! I didn't even get a chance to tell you this. You forcibly pressed my paw to sign the contract. It wasn't my initiative!"

Li Haotian knew he was in the wrong but refused to admit it. He stepped forward and kicked him a few more times.

Zhang Hai and Su Yao were stunned on the side. What was this? Reincarnation and re-Cultivation?

Such methods, perhaps even a Great Emperor might not fully grasp them. Wang Cai just said he came from the Immortal Realm. Could he have once been a member of the Immortal Realm?

Li Haotian gave Wang Cai another brutal beating, making Wang Cai howl loudly.

"I'm warning you, stop hitting me! I was once a Dog Clan Immortal King!"

"Woof woof woof!"

"No, no, no! I was wrong! Ahhh!"

Wang Cai was in agonizing pain, struggling to reveal his past life identity, only to be met with another round of vicious beating.

Li Haotian was not someone who abused small animals, but this fellow was truly dishonest. He wanted to rebel against the heavens right after hatching, and now he dared to conceal such vital information. If he wasn't beaten, this guy might hide even more things.

"In the future, please try to keep my Revered Master from traveling far. If he does, stay far away from the Yao Race. As long as he appears within a hundred kilometers of the Yao Race, they will detect my aura. They are all coming for me. Before I fully grow up, absolutely do not expose my identity."

Wang Cai looked entirely bruised and swollen. He quietly rubbed his butt with his paw and spoke cautiously.

"We've truly provoked a powerful race for no apparent reason. There are many Great Emperor experts among the Yao Race. If their mission truly is to kill you, things are tricky."

Li Haotian stroked his chin, contemplating the information about the Yao Race. This race had countless varieties, including all sorts of animals that Cultivated into spirits. A group with extremely high Cultivation had joined them and rooted themselves in this world.

It was said that these highly Cultivated Yao Race experts suddenly swarmed out from all over the world. They took the form of kings, seemingly searching for something, but they never fought against the Human Race. Some Yao Race even traded with the Human Race.

Occasionally, a small number were hostile toward the Human Race, but it wasn't a major issue.

Calculating the time these Yao Race appeared, it coincided with the time Wang Cai died, possibly tracing back tens of thousands of years.

"Revered Master, it seems I need to Cultivate more urgently. I can clearly feel that after signing the contract, Wang Cai's fate is essentially tied to mine. Although my life won't be affected if he is killed, it will damage my Dao practice and Foundation."

Zhang Hai spoke, his expression not overly anxious. Sitting before him was his Revered Master, a contemporary Great Emperor expert. With such a strong and reliable backer, what did he have to worry about?

Wang Cai also looked at Li Haotian with a hopeful expression.

"Cultivate diligently from now on. You two will likely have to figure out how to handle this matter yourselves, as this is your previous Karma."

"If anything happens, the Sect and I will support you."

These words immediately excited Wang Cai. He knelt on the ground, repeatedly kowtowing, constantly thanking Li Haotian for his great benevolence.

After eating and drinking their fill, the three said their goodbyes and went back to Cultivate. Wang Cai, seeing that no one was around, revealed a wretched smile and dashed down the mountain on all four legs.

He didn't have any children. As the Reincarnation of such a powerful Dog Clan Immortal King, how could he not have concubines?

He had already smelled the aura of female beasts on a nearby mountain.

Soon, the wretched-looking Wang Cai quietly snuck to the Beast Rearing Peak, one of the three newly added peaks beneath the Nine Great Main Peaks.

After the Spirit Gathering Peak declined, the tenth-ranked Beast Rearing Peak automatically rose to the Nine Peaks, enjoying immense prestige.

Wang Cai didn't care about any of that. Following the scent, he quietly slipped into a Disciple's Immortal Cave.

After searching around but finding no trace of a powerful female Dog Clan beast, he was about to leave in disappointment when he was suddenly attracted by a figure.

By the pool, a noble female Dog Clan beast was playing in the water and cleaning her fur.

Wang Cai immediately wagged his tail excitedly, his tongue hanging out, staring intently at her.

This scene was, for him, equivalent to secretly watching a fairy bathing.

"Heh heh!"

Wang Cai gave a wretched laugh, then jumped directly into the pool. At first, there were a few barks from the female dog, followed immediately by sounds of playful laughter and splashing.

A long time later, Wang Cai, looking refreshed, prepared to go back to sleep. This female beast today was quite charming, and her Cultivation was not low, already at the Immortal Platform Stage. If Wang Cai hadn't retained a trace of his former prestige, he truly wouldn't have been able to make her submit.

In the animal mindset, the strong are respected. For a Dog Clan Immortal King to favor an Immortal Platform Stage Mountain Guardian Beast was simply heavenly luck!

Wang Cai had no idea that the other party was the Mountain Guardian Spirit Beast of the Beast Rearing Peak.

On the way back, Wang Cai didn't forget his owner. Since he had enjoyed himself, he had to make his owner happy too. Thus, the stealthy dog Wang Cai snuck into many female Disciples' Immortal Caves, stole their intimate clothing, and then jogged all the way back to the Spirit Gathering Peak.
