257: dirty tricks
The alien races living here didn't seem to have very strong aggression, and this race didn't seem to be among the group of alien races that invaded the Human Race.
This race was composed entirely of Werewolves; their jet-black, glossy fur paired with their unique blood-red eyes made them look terrifying.
Besides them, there were also some scattered Beastmen, all of whom were residents living here, including men, women, young, and old.
They didn't seem much different from the common folk of the Human Race.
The group soon arrived at the base of the city wall, and the Werewolves above noticed them immediately.
"Human Race?"
The Werewolf's expression changed instantly, and then he couldn't help but bare his teeth.
Upon hearing this, the group looked up and revealed the eyes on their faces, and Zhang Hai, the boldest among them, immediately cursed.
"If you dare to insult our race with such derogatory language again, I will fight you to the death immediately!"
"Look closely, we are from the Myriad-Eyed Clan!"
After hearing the angry roar, the Werewolf examined them carefully. Seeing that their faces were covered in eyes, he suddenly felt a bit chilled.
They indeed didn't look like the Human Race, so he relaxed his vigilance slightly.
"Where are you from? We have never seen people of your race here before, which is why I mistook you for others."
"We were swept into this world through an unstable wormhole. We don't belong here originally; do you have a way for us to return?"
Zhang Hai spoke with the other party in a composed manner, appearing without a single flaw, and the other party completely believed their words.
They were ushered into the city and treated with good wine and food.
"Everything that happened just now was a misunderstanding. I didn't mean to mistake your identity, and I hope you can forgive me."
"I offer you my sincere apologies once again."
A well-dressed Werewolf wearing glasses spoke softly; he was clearly a high-ranking individual in this city.
"Our race had some disputes with the Human Race in the early years, which is why we turned into this state. In the beginning, we were actually all part of the Human Race, but later we were abandoned by them."
"We are not targeting or hostile toward you; we are merely hostile toward the Human Race."
The Werewolf leader said while raising his wine glass, then drained it in one gulp.
"Do you have any proof of being from the Myriad-Eyed Clan?"
He suddenly asked this, making everyone present nervous, except for Zhang Hai, who began to display his formidable social skills.
He was the first to come out of seclusion, and out of sheer boredom, he had turned into an Incarnation of a social butterfly, chatting with everyone in the Sect. Now, he felt no stage fright at all.
"The eyes on our faces are proof enough of our identity. We don't intend to stay here for long. If you have any clues about a space Formation or a wormhole, please let us know in time, and we will find a way to return to our own race."
Zhang Hai appeared as if he wanted to leave immediately and had no intention of lingering, which completely put the Werewolf leader at ease.
Such people were clearly not here to cause trouble; they might be guests from afar. If they established a good relationship, they might even be able to trade in the future.
For many years, they had wantonly slaughtered the animals in the mountains, leading to a severe shortage of food now.
Many Werewolves even wanted to switch to a vegetarian diet, but not a single one could manage it.
"Walking on the streets in your current state will surely cause unnecessary misunderstandings. This is a pass I wrote myself. As long as you hold this, you can go to any of our cities. I hope you will not be misunderstood by others."
The group exchanged glances, nodded, and then took the pass to wander around the city.
"To think such a world exists. I haven't seen many of the plants here, and those Beastmen look bizarre, completely different from us."
Du Xian observed his surroundings and couldn't help but exclaim in wonder. The others nodded as well; for them, this was already quite a novel experience.
"Good heavens, look over there!"
Su Yao widened her eyes and pointed into the distance in disbelief; she saw a group of creatures with the upper bodies of pigs and the lower bodies of humans walking down the street.
"What the..."
Little Fatty Bai's mouth twitched wildly. Just a moment ago, he had used some fruits, vegetables, and the like to trade with some vegetarian Beastmen and obtained quite a few supplies.
These supplies were all medicinal herbs related to Alchemy, unique to this world, and they looked quite novel.
He planned to refine some and take them back for research.
The group soon traveled to the next city. This city was clearly much larger than the previous one, with a massive population. Large numbers of troops were on the streets, seemingly gathering and preparing to deploy at any moment.
"What's going on here?"
The group looked at the Werewolf troops coming and going on the street with some confusion.
"You must be from another race, right? Recently, someone discovered a wormhole that leads to another world. It is said that there are quite a few Humans there, and they intend to go over and slaughter them."
A Beastman joined the discussion uninvited and directly revealed everything he knew. The expressions of those present changed in a strange way.
"I don't think we can just let them go and harm the Human Race so easily. It's highly likely that the wormhole they are going to doesn't lead to the Heavenly Domain."
Su Yao originally didn't want to meddle in this business, but upon thinking that the Human Race in another world might be ambushed by alien races, she decided to intervene.
"With our looks and attire, it's impossible for us to strike in broad daylight. Once we strike, we won't even have a place to hide and will only be able to slink away in defeat."
"Can we find another way?"
Du Xian clearly didn't want to give up on continuing to explore this place. If they could stir up a life-and-death conflict between some races, that would be even better; this was what they hoped for.
If they went back now, they would basically have achieved nothing.
"I have a way. Do you know what kind of medicinal herb the Beastmen here use to reproduce?"
Little Fatty Bai chuckled.
"This kind of herb can make all female Beastmen go into heat without exception. As long as we have this herb, we can make those Beastmen enter a state of estrus."
"The female Beastmen will attract the male Beastmen, and in this way, won't they be too busy to worry about the matters at the Fissure for the time being?"
"When we are ready to leave, we can just blow up that wormhole while we're at it."
The four of them could barely form a battle Formation, and the power they could unleash was now no weaker than that of a Great Emperor Powerhouse.
Destroying that wormhole shouldn't be very difficult.
Everyone showed an expression of disdain, but they all openly accepted his proposal.
