290: Chapter 290: A friendly reminder. This is Chapter 290.

The three of them didn't say more and went up the stairs to the third floor.

The private rooms booked for the class were 302 and 303. The partition between them had been removed, turning them into one large room that could accommodate twenty to thirty people, with two large round tables set up.

As soon as they reached the third floor, classmates waiting in the hallway started calling out to them.

"Damn! What took you so long?!"

"Over here, over here! We were just waiting for you few!"

"Come in, come in! We've been waiting for you to start the feast! If you'd been any later, we'd have set up your photos!"

Fang Wei immediately switched into social mode, cheerfully giving one a playful punch and hugging another, clearly quite popular.

Although Jiang Ye hadn't been very interested in the gathering before, seeing so many classmates he hadn't seen in a long time, people he'd once attended classes and played games with, inexplicably lightened and brightened his mood quite a bit.

While smiling and responding to greetings, he quietly introduced Ye Cheng:

"That guy with glasses is the study committee member, damn, he failed so many subjects... That chubby one is our class clown, just call him Little Fatty... Those few girls over there... well, they're quite... lively."

At the same time, he introduced Ye Cheng to everyone: "My girlfriend, Ye Cheng."

The classmates, especially the male ones, couldn't hide their obvious admiration and envy when they saw Ye Cheng. A few close friends even secretly gave Jiang Ye a thumbs-up.

A few female classmates hadn't thought much of it initially, but seeing the boys around them practically staring, they felt inexplicably annoyed.

However, since she was Jiang Ye's girlfriend—already taken—everyone just kept their thoughts to themselves, remaining polite on the surface.

About a dozen people were already seated inside the private room, and classmates from the hallway gradually came in to find seats.

Jiang Ye led Ye Cheng to a relatively quiet corner by the window, less likely to be affected by loud boasting or show-offs.

Fang Wei decisively abandoned this "lovey-dovey couple" and ran to the other table to sit with a few familiar buddies, known as the "Drinking Table Warriors," rubbing his hands in anticipation of getting completely wasted.

Ye Cheng observed the lively, youth-filled scene with great interest. Her gaze swept across the two large tables, and she gently nudged Jiang Ye with her elbow:

"Hey? Where's your Weiwei? Hasn't she arrived yet?"

Jiang Ye rolled his eyes helplessly: "Right, my Weiwei hasn't graced us with her presence yet, making my dear concubine wait so long."

Ye Cheng blinked, then tilted her head to listen to the conversations around them—mostly complaining about weird bosses at their internships, sharing horror stories about renting, or exchanging information about civil service exams and postgraduate studies.

"Huh? Why isn't anyone showing off their wealth? It's a class reunion, such a classic part. Shouldn't there be a few 'successful people' starting to humblebrag according to the script?"

Jiang Ye glanced at her and held out his hand: "Give me your phone."

"My phone? What for?"

"I'm deleting Tomato Novel for you. What kind of trash are you reading every day? It's completely warping your mind."

Ye Cheng: "..." She swatted his hand away irritably.

Jiang Ye snorted. "You think every class has hidden chaebols or sons of powerful officials? That kind of brainless wealth-flaunting, followed by the protagonist showing them up, simply doesn't exist in an ordinary class at an ordinary second-tier university like ours. Most classmates are normal people. Who has nothing better to do than pull that stuff? How tacky..."

Before he could finish, a rather hearty laugh suddenly came from outside the private room:

"Hahahaha! Classmates, sorry, sorry, I'm late! I'll punish myself with three drinks later! I absolutely must!"

"..."

Jiang Ye paused mid-sentence, cleared his throat dryly, and added expressionlessly:

"Of course, in a big forest, you find all kinds of birds. Every class always produces one or two... individuals who are particularly enthusiastic about showcasing themselves."

A young man walked in through the door, wearing a striking silver shiny down jacket, his hair meticulously styled with gel, a confident smile on his face. It was none other than the Lu Mingxuan, Lu Mingxuan.

After entering, he stepped aside slightly, raised his voice with a beaming smile: "Everyone, look who I managed to invite?"

Following him in was a tall, slender girl.

She wore a white down jacket over a pink high-neck sweater, with black leggings and a pair of brown ankle boots—the quintessential campus goddess style.

The private room immediately erupted with enthusiastic greetings:

"The Lu Mingxuan is here!"

"Wow! The class beauty is here too! What an honor!"

"Old Lu, not bad! You actually got our class beauty to come!"

Cheng Weiwei waved with a gentle smile: "Hello, everyone. Traffic was a bit heavy, sorry for being late."

Her gaze swept warmly across the room. When it passed over Jiang Ye's table, it lingered on his face for a half-second, a flicker of surprise in her eyes, but she quickly returned to normal. Smiling, she was ushered by Lu Mingxuan Lu Mingxuan to a seat of honor at the other table.

Jiang Ye quietly introduced to Ye Cheng: "That guy dressed like tinfoil-baked fish is the Lu Mingxuan, Lu Mingxuan. His family runs some small business, pretty well-off."

Ye Cheng's gaze casually swept over Lu Mingxuan and settled on Cheng Weiwei, lingering for a moment on the other girl's long legs in black leggings, nodding slightly to herself.

Hmm, definitely the type this guy would like.

"That's Cheng Weiwei, right? She really is quite pretty."

"Yeah, that's Cheng Weiwei."

"By the way, I haven't asked yet, why did she block you back then? What earth-shattering, unforgivable thing did you do?"

Before Jiang Ye could start fabricating an answer, Fang Wei, who had somehow snuck back from the other table, plopped down in the empty seat next to Jiang Ye and eagerly explained:

"Hah! Sis-in-law... I mean, Sister-in-law! This story is hilarious! Back then, our Brother Ye, who knows what wire got crossed in his brain, sent Cheng Weiwei a WeChat message in the middle of the night. Just one sentence: 'Tonight, Yuanmeng Hotel, I'll wait for you.' Man, what a direct shot! How utterly presumptuous!"

"That bold?"

Ye Cheng widened her eyes slightly in surprise, completely not expecting Jiang Ye's past approach to pursuing girls to be so direct.

Hmm...

Indeed, no virgin boy is innocent; each has their own path to doom.
