As Ronan fought, his mind raced even amid the chaos. He scanned the battlefield, looking for familiar faces—but Clara and Aiden were nowhere in sight. He had checked moments ago, and now they were absent again.

Most likely, they were busy elsewhere, handling threats beyond his current vision. He could only hope they were faring better than he was.

Meanwhile, deep within the cavern, the situation was equally dire. The yellow barrier around Aiden shattered under relentless pressure. Aiden’s face, once pale, had turned stark white, as though all color had drained from him.

Clara’s expression mirrored the grim severity of the moment; she whispered bitterly under her breath, "He didn’t heal it... he restored it."

Aiden’s face was taut with concern and grim resolve. Their earlier assumptions had been fatally flawed.

They had believed the beast possessed the strongest offensive power between the duo, but the truth was far more terrifying. The real threat was the Dark Emissary himself, standing directly in front of them.

Not only did he command the beasts, but he also wielded dual abilities—an unprecedented combination that gave him control over elite creatures in ways that defied all logic. The sheer magnitude of his power dwarfed anything the allied forces had anticipated.

Quint’s crimson gaze locked onto Clara and Aiden, his presence radiating lethal intent. Gone were any traces of mercy or fatigue—now, only pure malice remained.

"I’m going to tear you apart," he declared, pointing directly at Clara.

Instantly, he issued a command, "Crit– Fireball!" Simultaneously, the scorpion beast massive red tail lashed out, launching a massive fireball.

As if that weren’t enough, Quint invoked a gale of wind to propel and amplify the attack. The fireball roared forward, its intensity magnified, the flames twisting violently as they tore through the air.

Clara and Aiden reacted instantly. They leapt away from the strike’s trajectory, putting as much distance as possible between themselves and the devastating combination of fire and wind.

Yet Quint was relentless. He barked another order to his beast: "Harden Earth Blockage!" The giant scorpion, understanding instantly, slammed its massive tail onto the ground.

The earth erupted, forming a towering pillar that blocked the duo’s escape, trapping them within the deadly range of the combined attack.

Clara grit her teeth, refusing to yield. She thrust her hands forward, unleashing two Omega Blasters.

The energy shots collided with the oncoming fire waves, exploding with brilliant light and dispersing part of the attack—but not entirely. Some of the fire surged past her defenses, striking her with immense force.

She was sent flying backward, crashing into the cavern wall with a harsh impact. Dust and debris clouded the air, her armor battered.

Clara groaned as she struggled to rise, her body battered from the previous assault. But there was no time to dwell on pain. Quint was already issuing another command. "Lightning Treks!" The scorpion beast surged forward, its silver tail cracking the air as it channeled a massive surge of lightning, capable of obliterating anything in its path. Clara’s teeth clenched—there was no way she could block that attack alone.

Then, without hesitation, Aiden stepped directly in front of the incoming lightning. His lips barely moved as he muttered under his breath, activating Emerald Vine Mode. In an instant, darkness marred his skin, twisting and reshaping his body. He grew taller, more muscular, and far more imposing, his features taking on the bestial visage of a man-gorilla hybrid. Massive, thick vines erupted from the ground at his feet, twisting and weaving into layers of impenetrable shields directly in front of the attack.

The lightning struck, sizzling against the living barrier. The vines held for mere fleeting moments before the energy shattered them, the force sending tremors through the ground. Gritting his teeth, Aiden braced himself and absorbed the remainder of the attack head-on. Pain surged through his body like wildfire, and before he could fully regain his balance, he was hurled off his feet, crashing dangerously close to Clara.

But he rose again, his beast-like expression grim and unyielding. His internal system alerted him: "A huge injury has been received: -50 HP. 120/300 HP remains." Had he been in Dark Essence Mode, this strike might have ended the battle for him right then. Yet, Emerald Vine Mode did more than provide defense—it granted him resilience and rapid energy regeneration. As long as he still had energy reserves, he would heal and continue fighting.

"Is it just me, or has the beast grown even stronger?" Aiden muttered, his voice tinged with concern as he looked at the scorpion.

Clara responded after a brief pause, calm but measured: "No. The beast has always had this much potential—but it couldn’t unleash it fully before. Two reasons: one, Quint wasn’t completely committed to tearing us apart yet; two... and this I suspect greatly—the yellow orb in Quint’s hands."

Her eyes darkened with realization. "If my prediction is correct, that orb is the main source of his strength. It must be feeding him—practically unlimited energy. That’s not just an explanation for the chaos we’ve seen; it explains everything. How the Dark Emissary controls such a massive force of beasts, how fast he can regenerate, how powerful his attacks are. If he’s truly drawing on boundless reserves, then achieving all this is no longer supernatural... just insane mastery paired with unimaginable willpower."

But Aiden wasn’t here to marvel at how terrifying or clever the Dark Emissary was. His mission was clear: end Quint’s tyranny.

And to do that, they had to seize the orb from him first. If they failed, there was a very real chance Quint could restore the beast to its full glory, erasing all the damage they had inflicted and undoing their efforts in an instant.

"Clara," Aiden said, his voice low but edged with urgency, "do you have any strategy for us to get that damn orb away?"

Clara fell silent. Seconds stretched like hours as she weighed their options, her calm demeanor hiding the storm of calculations in her mind. Finally, she spoke, her voice steady and composed:

"No."

Aiden’s face darkened. His massive gorilla fists clenched so tightly the knuckles shone white. He shook his head, a grim, wry smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"Then... we do this the old way," he muttered, voice low but filled with fierce determination. "No plan, no finesse. We tear them apart and take the orb before they can restore anything.

That’s our only choice. And we have to move fast—there’s no room for hesitation. Hopefully, we survive long enough to make it count."

He slammed his fists together, the ground trembling beneath the sheer force of his resolve. Clara’s eyes met his, sharing the same unspoken determination. Whatever it took—they would get that orb, or they would fall trying.

The battlefield around them raged with chaos, but amidst the storm of fire, lightning, and destruction, the two heroes locked onto their singular goal.
