Chapter 258: Destroy The Cursed (74)
Chapter 214"Aren’t you damn tired of all this?" Han’s voice cut through the battlefield, laced with irritation.
By now he’d already torn through the third wave of these unending Earth Warrior hordes. The Dark Emissary before him must have been burning a massive amount of energy to keep summoning them again and again... but he kept doing it anyway.
Does this bastard have unlimited reserves? Han wondered.
No time to linger. The Earth Warriors were already on the move. They raised their spears and charged.
Han closed his eyes, crushing the Earth Warrior head still in his grip. The air around him shimmered, heat distorting reality itself. The temperature spiked, climbing until it felt like the very air was on fire.
His eyes stayed shut as he invoked the skill. Fire Dome.
A blazing dome of fire erupted around him. The warriors that dared step too close were instantly incinerated, bodies crumbling to ash before they even screamed.
But that wasn’t the end. Not even close.
Han’s eyes snapped open. He stretched his hand wide, voice echoing like a command from hell.
"Flame Dome—expand."
The fire swelled, growing, thickening, expanding in all directions. A wave of searing heat exploded outward. Earth Warriors shrieked as their rocky armor cracked and shattered, some collapsing in molten heaps, others breaking apart entirely.
Still, more of them remained.
Han’s palm opened. A white blade materialized—the White Fang. Energy poured into it, making the sword glow with a chilling light. He moved like a phantom, cutting through warrior after warrior.
They fell like leaves in autumn, tumbling lifelessly to the ground. Some tried to resist, some even swung back, but they too were carved apart in an instant.
Strike. Move. Cut. Advance.
One by one, the wave collapsed until nothing was left but rubble.
Han landed lightly on his feet, eyes calm but his gaze cold. He stared across the field at the Dark Emissary. Madi.
Madi met his eyes, face unreadable. Then he slowly raised a hand, palm down, pressing it against the ground.
Han’s face darkened. Again? Isn’t he tired of this already?
He didn’t wait. Han shot forward, fist cocked back, ready to unleash Tiger Punch and end this fight in one devastating blow.
But before he reached him, the earth surged. A massive pillar rose up, blocking his path.
Han roared, driving his fist straight through it. The wall shattered in an explosion of dirt and stone.
And right on the other side—waiting—was a massive earthen fist.
It slammed into Han before he could brace.
The impact sent him flying. He rolled across the ground, tearing through stone and dust, before he ground to a stop on his feet, chest heaving.
Han wiped the blood from his lip, eyes narrowing.
What made this battle such a pain in the ass wasn’t just Madi’s power. It was the damn battlefield itself. They were surrounded by endless earth, and here—Madi was king.
If they had been fighting on water—or somewhere with little to no earth—Han was certain he would have already won this battle. But even he couldn’t ignore one fact.
The Dark Emissary’s mastery over earth was staggering. Maybe too staggering.
Han had fought many foes, human and beast alike, some with terrifying control over their elements, but none came close to this monster.
The sheer fluidity, the seamless weaving of one technique into another—it wasn’t just skill. It demanded monstrous willpower... and even more terrifying energy reserves.
Han’s eyes narrowed. To pull all that off, his energy must rival mine. No... it might even surpass it.
And that was saying something. Han’s reserves were already considered freakish. Among the entire planet, there were few—if any—who could stand equal to him in that regard. Yet this Dark Emissary... this freak in front of him... was bending the rules.
Of course, Han shouldn’t have been surprised. Deep down, he already knew. Ever since facing that red-haired Dark Emissary back in the city of Muarina, he’d realized the truth. Every single one of them was a freak.
But Han didn’t have the luxury of pondering for long—the fifth wave was already upon him.
He fought them off with Jungle Arts, weaving elemental variants into the chaos. He unleashed the many skills he had honed over the years—not that they could really be called "few."
Han had forged countless techniques, some high rank, some not. Some were deadly in combat, some purely supportive. A few were strange utilities. Others... completely useless.
But right now, every skill mattered.
The fifth wave fell. Then the sixth. Then the seventh.
At last, the battlefield grew quiet. The endless tide of Earth Warriors had stopped.
Han landed back on his feet, his chest heaving, his expression calm but his gaze sharp and cold. He fixed his eyes on Madi, who stood in the distance like a statue, unmoved.
Han smirked, a taunting grin twisting his lips.
"Don’t tell me... you’ve run out of energy already. If that’s the case, you’ll be dying soon."
Madi’s own lips curled into a wicked smile as he slowly shook his head.
"No. You’re the one in danger, not me. Look around you."
Han frowned, his blue eyes narrowing in confusion. But when he glanced around, the truth hit him instantly.
He was surrounded.
All around him, layers upon layers of earth had piled up, stretching for several meters. It wasn’t random debris, it was deliberate. All of it carried Madi’s energy signature.
Han’s jaw tightened. So that’s your plan...
The Dark Emissary had allowed him to slaughter wave after wave of Earth Warriors. Not to win, but to bury Han deeper, trapping him inside a battlefield built entirely from his own element.
Madi’s wicked smile widened.
"You’re right where I need you."
Han’s eyes hardened, watchful, his body coiled.
So... what now?
Madi raised a hand and then snapped his fingers.
What happened next was too fast, too brutal for anyone to even register.
All around Han, the earth shattered, breaking apart into massive, razor-sharp needles. In the blink of an eye, they lunged forward with insane speed, rushing to impale him from head to toe.
But Han was fast, unnaturally fast.
One moment he stood dead center of the storm. The next, he was gone. The earth arrows clashed into each other, exploding into rubble, shredding themselves apart.
Madi’s smile faltered. The needles vanished into dust.
That wasn’t what he expected. What he wanted was Han’s body to be riddled with holes, bleeding from a thousand wounds, skewered like a beast. But instead... nothing. The boy was gone. Vanished.
Teleportation?
Madi’s eyes narrowed. That was exactly what had happened. Han had teleported. But how? Impossible.
The young hero had already displayed more than two skills adding this made it four. Four skills. No human should be able to wield that many.
Madi’s jaw clenched, his teeth grinding. Is this white-haired, black-eyed brat even human at all?
He didn’t care. Human or not, he was the leader of this attack and too dangerous, so he had to die.
His gaze swept the battlefield until it finally landed above.
There he was. Han, floating in the air, blue eyes cold and locked right on him.
"So you’re right there... you damn bastard," Madi growled through gritted teeth.
Han, meanwhile, lowered his gaze to his hands, flexing his fingers. A sigh escaped him.
That had been close, too close. A second slower and his body would have been torn apart by those spears of stone.
His eyes cut back to Madi, sharper than before. This proved it again: Dark Emissaries weren’t just dangerous, they were a problem that had to be erased quickly.
Madi raised both hands high into the sky.
"What the hell is he planning now?" Han muttered, ready to strike. If only he could unleash Thunderstorm here, he’d wipe this bastard out in one blow.
But before the thought could even finish, a sudden wrongness gripped him.
The broken shards of earth, the same fragments from the shattered arrows rose into the air. More and more, hundreds, thousands of jagged pieces floated upward, swarming the sky. The scene almost looked comical, like a swarm of flies rising to the heavens.
But Han’s face darkened. His dry chuckle carried no amusement.
"Really... why the hell do I have to be the one fighting this freak?"
The shards merged, twisting and reshaping until they took form.
Swords.
Earth swords, each of them were massive, wild, terrifyingly sharp. Thousands of them. Their blades glinted with a promise of nothing but destruction as they hung suspended, all of them aimed directly at him.
Madi smirked, eyes burning with cruel triumph.
"Say your last prayer."
Han’s gaze went blank for a heartbeat. Then he shrugged, stretching both hands out.
From his palms, fire exploded outward, roaring to life taking shape.
Soon, the flames had fully taken shape into two massive scythes burning hot in Han’s grip.
A smirk tugged at his lips. This... kinda reminds me of Ifrit, he mused, thinking of his flame spirit, the proud and haughty, ever-defiant Ifrit.
But there was no time to linger.
Madi swung his hands down, and the sky itself seemed to scream as hundreds of earth swords shot toward Han with insane speed, each one carrying brutal, merciless destruction.
Han tilted his head, as if pondering. Wait... what would Ronan say in a situation like this?
For some strange reason, he felt like having fun even here, even now. His smirk widened, eyes locked on the storm of blades rushing to tear him apart.
"Oh, I get it..." he muttered, nodding like he’d solved some grand puzzle.
Then, as the earth swords closed in, Han roared two words that shook the battlefield—
"LET’S ROLL!"
