140: The last person this arrogant went bankrupt.

Lu Qingyu had spent over four months with Wu Yao because of filming Wolf Warrior. He understood Wu Yao; she was a serious actress who could endure hardships and wasn't afraid of them. She had a certain resilience and held onto her own bottom line, which was very rare in the entertainment industry.

"Sister Yao, would you consider signing with Qingcheng Entertainment?"

Wu Yao was stunned to hear this. She looked up and met Lu Qingyu's sincere gaze.

Wu Yao was currently in the rising stage of her career. With both acting skills and looks, countless companies were eyeing her.

Before this, Wu Yao had never thought about signing with a company. Signing was like selling oneself; the quality of resources depended on the company, and she couldn't decide for herself. Moreover, she would have to attend business events like drinking parties when necessary.

But now, she was indeed tempted. She had long heard that the treatment of artists at Qingcheng Entertainment was excellent and the resources were great. Most importantly, she felt that Lu Qingyu was truly reliable.

"Is it okay?"

Wu Yao asked back, seemingly unsure if Lu Qingyu and the others were willing to offend Tang Yin for her sake.

Su Jixing harbored a faint expectation. He had previously thought Wu Yao was a good prospect and that it would be great if she could sign with Qingcheng Entertainment.

Lu Qingyu smiled and said, "If Sister Yao is willing to come, I can give you the greatest Freedom in your work. The company will provide you with two S+ film and television productions every year. Your opinion will be sought before other film and television resources or activities are finalized. If you don't agree, you don't have to participate."

"As for the pay, it will be an 80-20 split—you get 80% and the company gets 20%."

This treatment was similar to when Lu Qingyu signed with Black Pearl, but for an ordinary artist, this treatment was heaven-defying.

Just the salary split alone was something other companies couldn't match. Based on Wu Yao's current value, if she signed elsewhere, the best split she could get would be 50-50.

Wu Yao said excitedly, "I'm willing. I'm willing to sign with Qingcheng Entertainment."

Lu Qingyu said, "Brother Su, I'll leave the subsequent matters to you."

Su Jixing agreed readily.

The next day, Wu Yao signed with Qingcheng Entertainment immediately. When Guo Yang saw Wu Yao being promoted on Qingcheng Entertainment's official account, he knew he had been played by her yesterday.

Since Wu Yao hadn't signed with a company before, where would she have gotten an Agent?

Now things were difficult. Since Wu Yao had suddenly signed with Qingcheng Entertainment, all business dealings were up to Qingcheng Entertainment. Guo Yang tentatively called Wang Ning.

Wang Ning had already been tipped off by Lu Qingyu and answered the phone calmly.

"Hello."

Hearing the call go through, Guo Yang immediately said, "Hello, CEO Wang. I am Guo Yang, the General Manager of Shanhai Entertainment."

"It's like this: we would like to invite Ms. Wu Yao to star as the female lead in an S-tier drama our company is currently producing. I wonder if Ms. Wu Yao has an opening in her schedule?"

Wang Ning said, "I'm so sorry, CEO Guo. Ms. Wu Yao's schedule for the next two years is completely full. She doesn't have any time to participate for now."

Guo Yang's heart sank upon hearing this. "Then could we invite Ms. Wu Yao to attend an offline banquet? We are willing to pay her double the appearance fee."

Guo Yang settled for the next best thing, thinking that as long as he could get Wu Yao out, everything else would be easy to handle.

To his surprise, Wang Ning said, "That's quite unfortunate, CEO Guo. Ms. Wu has already joined a production crew. This set is completely closed off, and communication in the mountains is poor. We'll have to wait until Ms. Wu Yao finishes filming."

Guo Yang asked urgently, "Then when will she finish filming?"

Wang Ning replied, "In about six months."

Six months? By then, it would be too late, and he would be finished too.

Given Tang Yin's personality, let alone six months, even six days would be too long for him.

But Guo Yang could tell that Qingcheng Entertainment was simply refusing to let him contact Wu Yao.

"Does CEO Lu have any activities lately?"

Since he couldn't get his hands on Wu Yao, Guo Yang began to plot regarding Lu Qingyu.

Wang Ning said, "I'm not in charge of CEO Lu's activities; his Agent, Su Jixing, is. If CEO Guo wants to know more, you can contact Su Jixing."

Hanging up the phone, Guo Yang's expression was very grim. He hadn't gotten Wu Yao, and he hadn't figured out Lu Qingyu either. Hadn't he just botched the task he promised CEO Tang?

He had never seen such ungrateful people. He had encountered some stubborn artists before, but in the end, they all bowed down to Tang Yin's power. Since Lu Qingyu and the others were being so uncooperative, they couldn't blame him for what came next.

Tang Yin was discussing business at a golf course. After finding out, Guo Yang headed straight there.

Tang Yin thought Guo Yang was bringing good news and was looking forward to seeing Wu Yao or Lu Qingyu tonight. However, he was disappointed. Seeing Tang Yin's face darken, Guo Yang immediately began making excuses for himself.

"CEO Tang, as you know, Lu Qingyu isn't even twenty yet. He's just a child—naive, willful, and ignorant. Just because he has a bit of assets, he doesn't respect anyone."

Tang Yin snorted coldly upon hearing this. Could a few pathetic entertainment companies even be called assets?

There was no one Tang Yin set his sights on that he couldn't get.

Since they refused to do things the easy way, they would have to do it the hard way. What did Lu Qingyu's little bit of money amount to? It was time to make him understand what true capital was.

Tang Yin planned to give Lu Qingyu and his people a small lesson first. Over a dozen web dramas currently being broadcast by Qingcheng Entertainment were suddenly taken down.

Upon hearing the news, Wang Ning immediately went to contact the person in charge of the video platform.

The person in charge was surnamed Chen, and he had worked well with Wang Ning in the past.

Qingcheng Entertainment's web dramas were very famous. Besides the platform they currently supplied, other video platforms were also scrambling for them. In the past, Manager Chen would give some preferential treatment to the short dramas Wang Ning submitted, but today, all of Qingcheng Entertainment's web dramas were suddenly blocked.

Wang Ning called to ask for a reason. At first, Manager Chen wouldn't answer and kept stalling. Later, Wang Ning went directly to his office. Seeing he couldn't stall any longer, Manager Chen asked Wang Ning privately:

"Old Wang, I'm not intentionally making things difficult for you. Have you guys offended someone?"

Wang Ning asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Manager Chen said, "We don't want to target you either, but the higher-ups gave the word to take down all of Qingcheng Entertainment's short dramas that are currently airing. We don't dare disobey."

"..."

"Furthermore, this order isn't just for our platform. Even if you take these videos to other platforms, they won't be allowed to go live either."

Wang Ning said, "But our web dramas are all compliant with the rules. On what grounds are they not allowed to be listed?"

Manager Chen said, "Since when were you so naive? Does being compliant even matter? What matters is that someone is displeased with you and wants to give you a lesson."

Wang Ning was suddenly fuming with rage; this was too much.

Manager Chen said, "If you've offended someone, hurry up and apologize to them. That way, the web dramas can be broadcast normally. Otherwise, you're going to lose a lot of money."

Wang Ning said, "But these dramas were signed with your platform. This counts as a breach of contract, and you'll have to pay damages."

Manager Chen asked, "Do you think our platform is short on money?"

Wang Ning: "F*ck..."
