226: Chapter 227 The Finals

N City became popular, and other cities were envious.

They knew it was because of Lu Qingyu's promotional song, so they sent invitations to Lu Qingyu one after another, but all were rejected because Lu Qingyu was participating in the final episode of King of Singers.

The popularity of King of Singers was far ahead of other variety shows.

With only the final episode left, the director struck while the iron was hot, continuously running advertisements and promotions online for the past week.

In a competition, everyone wants to win the championship.

Caesar and Levi were well prepared, and Lu Qingyu was carefully selecting a song for the competition.

Lu Qingyu also knew that everyone had high expectations for him now, and he had to win this match.

On the day of the competition, the Program Production Team started the live stream half an hour early this time.

Lu Qingyu took a different flight, arriving more than three hours earlier than the previous matches, and went to the Program Production Team only after eating outside.

King of Singers had caused too much trouble before.

Because they had been crushed by foreign netizens previously, the netizens felt that their great nation had lost face, so they attached great importance to this grand finale.

Lu Qingyu was now their hope.

Not only Lu Qingyu's fans, but many passersby also felt that as long as Lu Qingyu won, they could walk with their heads held high.

The live stream warm-up lasted half an hour, and the stream surpassed 30 million viewers.

The director looked at the data excitedly.

All eight singers had arrived.

The first half was the return performance of the four contestants who were eliminated in the semi-finals, and the second half was the competition of the remaining four singers.

The order of appearance was decided by drawing lots this time.

The director brought four bottles of yogurt and asked Lu Qingyu and the other three to choose.

Levi stepped forward first to choose.

As soon as he uncovered the bottom of the bottle, the Arabic numeral three appeared.

Levi let out a long sigh of relief.

Very good, he was very satisfied with this order, but he didn't know what Lu Qingyu's number was.

Levi turned his head and stared at Lu Qingyu.

Lu Qingyu picked up the last bottle of yogurt on the table and uncovered the bottom.

A four appeared.

Levi frowned subconsciously; being after him, his order was even better than his own.

But it didn't matter.

He believed that after he finished singing his song, everyone wouldn't even be able to listen to Lu Qingyu sing.

After choosing the order, everyone returned to their respective waiting rooms.

The live stream cut to many split screens, allowing netizens to see the status of the singers in each waiting room.

"Levi, come on! I think his songs are the best to listen to."

"Caesar has talent; I hope he performs well."

"I only trust Lu Qingyu; he won't let us down."

"He grows stronger when facing strong opponents, like a tiger emerging from the mountains. Lu Qingyu will definitely win the championship."

Netizens were discussing, and the program had a one-minute countdown.

One minute later, the program officially started.

At this time, the number of live viewers was 40 million.

The Host was on stage delivering lines, and then the four singers eliminated in the last round began their return performances.

Perhaps because there was no pressure of competition, the singers sang even better than they did in their previous matches.

Half an hour later, the preceding performances were finished, and it was time for the official competition segment.

Morin appeared first.

He brought out his best skills, using two different vocal ranges to interpret one song.

Everyone listened intently and was surprised that Morin could actually sing like that.

Then Caesar went on stage.

Caesar sang an old song from the eighties.

There were many vocal runs in the song, and his smooth handling was eye-opening.

The audience's reaction to Caesar and Morin's stages was about the same.

After Caesar finished his performance, it was finally time for Levi to go on stage.

During the transition between singers on stage, the audience below was whispering.

Levi stood in the shadows of the stage, his eyes flashing with a confident light.

He believed that once this song was finished, this championship would definitely be his.

Other singers in the backstage waiting room all looked toward the stage.

The song Levi was going to sing today was his original work, which no one had heard before.

Most importantly, Levi had not participated in the rehearsal for this song.

Levi had never rehearsed when participating in music variety shows before.

He had previously done so to cater to the program rules of the Dragon Kingdom, but when he learned that Lu Qingyu did not participate in rehearsals, he didn't want to either.

This song was his new track, his ace in the hole, and he didn't want other singers to know about it.

The director did not agree to Levi's request at first, but Levi had his Agent go and negotiate with the director.

It's unknown what his Agent said to the director, but in the end, the director agreed.

The director was also speechless.

The contract he signed with Levi's side stated that Levi would fully cooperate with the Program Production Team's arrangements.

Why did he agree?

Because he was threatened!

Levi's Agent implied that if they didn't agree to their request, they wouldn't participate in the final episode, even if they had to pay breach of contract penalties.

In the past, the director certainly wouldn't tolerate such a singer, but the grand finale was different.

Levi was already a hot favorite to win the championship.

If he withdrew during the grand finale, there was no telling what rumors would spread about the Program Production Team.

By then, not only would the Program Production Team be slandered, but they might also be labeled as bullying foreigners.

No matter how well Lu Qingyu sang, his championship would be questioned.

So in the end, the director had no choice but to agree to Levi's request.

The lights on stage gradually brightened.

Levi stood on the stage.

This time, he did not use the Dragon Kingdom's band but instead brought over his own dedicated band from abroad.

The hot and passionate musical accompaniment started, and Levi immediately hyped up the whole audience.

As expected of his dedicated band, they coordinated with tacit understanding, and Levi's state was much better than before.

The song he sang was a mix of rock and pop, with a light and distinct rhythm.

The moment the music started, it gave people the urge to dance along with him.

When singing the chorus, he even belted out a high note lasting 13 seconds, directly pushing the song to its climax.

The applause from the audience below was like waves, layer after layer.

The singers backstage, hearing him hit the high note, couldn't help but worry for Lu Qingyu.

"Levi is definitely going to win this championship; this is just too powerful."

"I'm worried for Lu Qingyu; this performance is a bit too strong."

"Oh my god, although I'm not a fan of Levi, this song is really good."
