173: Team building live-action CS

Su Jixing was on the Yellow Team, and their group was the first to set off.

Before leaving, Su Jixing gave Lu Qingyu a look: "Little brother, you'd better be careful. Your big brother here has had training."

Lu Qingyu raised the AK in his hand: "Brother Su, for the sake of you being my Agent, I'll catch you last."

Hans: "Lu, is there an extra reward for catching you?"

Lu Qingyu: "...Yes, the reward is a set of Foshan Shadowless Kicks, a Dragon Country intangible cultural heritage."

Hans: "That sounds so cool, what is it?"

Lu Qingyu: "You'll find out when the time comes."

Lu Qingyu drew lots and ended up on the Blue Team. Fifteen minutes after the first group was sent into the game area, they were also sent into the mountain forest.

This mountain had never been developed before and was well-maintained. There were many types of trees in the forest, and no large predators.

On the shady side of the mountain, a small wooden cabin was hidden within a head-high reed marsh.

This cabin had some years on it. Since it fit the game's atmosphere quite well, the game company hadn't removed it.

At around four in the afternoon, a group of people emerged from the dark room. Four of them got into a car and left, while the other three checked the surroundings for any unusual circumstances.

At this moment, someone was locked inside the house. Moray had been confined in the dark room for two days, during which he had been beaten three times. The kidnappers wanted to film videos of him being beaten to use for extorting his father.

Moray's father was the famous billionaire Kane Bailey, and Moray was the only son of the Bailey Family.

The gang that kidnapped them was a very famous organization led by Harry. In five years, they had planned six kidnappings, each targeting the children of wealthy families.

Moray was 17 years old. On the way to school, there was a stretch of road with very few people. They first scattered nails on the road to stop the car. Then, among the eight gang members, four dealt with Moray's bodyguards while the other four snatched Moray away.

They switched cars four times midway and even created the illusion that Moray had been kidnapped out of the city.

When Moray's father received the news, he sent people to investigate, but after a whole night, they found nothing.

The next day, he received a video of his son being beaten.

The leader in the video wore a mask and warned him not to call the police. If they found out he had reported it, they would kill his son immediately.

Moray's father didn't lack money, but he only had one son. He could give the money as long as his son was safe.

However, he was afraid the kidnappers would act recklessly. They were all vicious people. In one of their previous kidnappings, a wealthy man hadn't called the police and had paid the money, but in the end, his son was still killed by them.

While Moray's father was worrying, the kidnapping leader Harry sent him another message.

It was another video of them violently beating Moray. This video was meant to disrupt Moray's father's judgment, letting him know that his son was in their hands and he had to listen to them.

The phone rang, and Moray's father immediately answered: "Hello, what do you want?"

Harry spoke to Moray's father using a voice changer: "Mr. Bailey, do you like this gift?"

How could he possibly like it? Moray had never been beaten like this in his entire life.

"Tell me directly what you want. I can give you anything, but you must guarantee my son's safety."

Harry's laughter came from the other end of the phone; this was the sentence he loved hearing most.

"Before tomorrow night, prepare 300 million worth of diamonds. Mr. Bailey, please personally place them under the second tree to the east of the playground in West City Park."

Harry hung up immediately after speaking. Moray's father was worried about his son and could only take a gamble now. After hanging up, he immediately went to the safe to get the diamonds.

Although the Bailey Family's safe was called a 'box,' it was the size of a shipping container.

300 million worth of diamonds wasn't difficult for him; a few necklaces would do it.

He packed the diamonds into a leather suitcase and then carried them to the place the kidnappers had specified.

The amusement park was crowded. He followed the kidnappers' instructions and placed the diamonds next to a trash can. Although he hadn't called the police, he had his bodyguards and others secretly monitor the situation.

But these kidnappers were too experienced. Just as the diamonds arrived, a person in a mascot costume carrying a bunch of balloons approached, attracting a group of children.

By the time the crowd finally dispersed, the diamonds were long gone.

Moray's father waited tensely for his phone to ring. When it did, he picked up again and asked urgently:

"Hello, can you let my son go now?"

The kidnapper's laughter came from the other side, and the next words made Moray's father's heart sink.

"Don't be in such a hurry, Mr. Bailey."

The first thing the kidnappers did upon receiving the diamonds was use a machine to verify their authenticity. They found that Mr. Bailey was truly too honest; the necklaces were all real, and he hadn't called the police.

This was 300 million worth of goods. From the time they asked Mr. Bailey to prepare the diamonds to the completion of the transaction, it had taken less than two hours. This business was too smooth—so smooth that they felt they could extort even more from this deal.

Harry said: "Mr. Bailey, I really like you too much. But what can we do? The diamonds you gave us aren't enough to go around. Now my brothers feel they've received too little, and they're angry and want to do something bloody."

Moray's father's heart leaped into his throat: "What do you want to do?"

Harry said: "How about Mr. Bailey prepares another 500 million worth of diamonds for us?"

Moray's father suddenly realized he had made a mistake. He had given the money too readily, whetting their appetites.

Now his son was likely in even greater danger.

Moray's father said: "Those 300 million in diamonds were already my limit. I can't produce any more."

Hearing this, Harry gave a cold laugh: "In that case, you'll just have to collect your son's corpse."

Harry was about to hang up when Moray's father immediately said: "Wait, wait!"

"Give me some time, I'll find a way."

Harry: "I'll give you one night. I'll call you at nine tomorrow morning. If I don't get the diamonds, we will personally deliver your son's body to you."

Harry hung up. Moray's father's face was grim. He didn't count on the police to help his son; besides, those stupid police would only make things worse.

He contacted a top-tier security team to have them rescue his son.

Harry hung up and drove back to the cabin. In the car, the group was laughing and joking.

"That old man is really too easy to fool. After we finish this job, we won't have to do anything else for two years."
