72: Seats snatched inside the show
The Staff Member was helpless when Cui Yuzhe refused to move. In fact, this situation occurred every year. Last year, an internet celebrity sat in the front row, and when the Staff Member failed to get her to leave, that celebrity used the incident to gain popularity and trend.
Cui Yuzhe understood this principle too. This method was suggested by his Agent. Although he felt a bit embarrassed at first, just as his Agent said, as long as you become famous and get better resources, nobody cares what methods you use.
Once he becomes a huge success, the venue might even invite him to sit in the front row, and no one will dwell on past events.
The Staff Member turned to Lu Qingyu and said, "I apologize, sir, please wait a moment while I see if there are any other seats."
The Staff Member turned around to look for other seats. Seeing them gone, Cui Yuzhe became even less polite toward Lu Qingyu.
He scrutinized the clothes Lu Qingyu was wearing, his eyes filled with disdain:
"If you want to use the Fashion Week buzz to gild yourself, you need to check if you have the capability first. If you're photographed sitting here in those clothes, you'll not only lose face yourself but also embarrass your boss."
Cui Yuzhe had originally been curious about what Lu Qingyu would wear after his clothes were taken, but he hadn't expected his Agent Su Jixing to be so mediocre.
It was obvious at a glance that these clothes weren't from a major brand. Coming to the show dressed like this, he was afraid that foreigners' impression of Lu Qingyu would implicate all citizens of Dragon Country, calling them shabby.
Chen Ting was chatting with someone in the third row and hadn't noticed what was happening with Lu Qingyu yet.
Cui Yuzhe became even more reckless. Hearing this, Lu Qingyu stared at Cui Yuzhe as if he were a rare spectacle. Is this guy crazy? Not only did he steal someone's seat, but he was also self-righteously lecturing others. Didn't anyone in the entertainment industry teach him common decency?
And what was wrong with his clothes? They were new Chinese style with a national flair, and the embroidery was Intangible Cultural Heritage. The silk fabric, hundreds of years ago, was considered precious not just in Dragon Country, but if it spread to other nations, only royalty could use it.
If Dragon Country people want to be respected internationally, they must first have cultural confidence. It is precisely because of people like Cui Yuzhe, who fawn over foreign things, that foreigners look down on the people of Dragon Country even more.
Lu Qingyu: "I'll give you a suggestion: you can stand up now, apologize to me, and then leave."
Cui Yuzhe looked like he had heard something hilarious. Was he mistaken? Apologize to someone less famous than him? Was he insane?
Cui Yuzhe stood up, believing his presence alone could overwhelm this eighteen-year-old: "Do you know that I am your senior? You are young and haven't had much schooling, but you should at least understand basic respect."
Lu Qingyu wanted to laugh. Cui Yuzhe teaching him "respect"?
Lu Qingyu: "Respect is not something given to just anyone."
Chen Ting finally turned around. He had heard a little about Cui Yuzhe—this person was arrogant, conceited, and his team had few boundaries.
Seeing him blocking Lu Qingyu's seat and the tense atmosphere between the two, Chen Ting knew something was wrong. His kid was probably being bullied.
Chen Ting immediately went over, pulled Lu Qingyu behind him, and shielded him:
"What's going on?"
Cui Yuzhe was not afraid of Chen Ting. Seeing Chen Ting approach, he sneered, "Are you still weaning? Do you need someone else to back you up."
Cui Yuzhe spoke rudely, making Chen Ting angry: "What do you mean?"
Cui Yuzhe's eyes were full of contempt, and he sat down again:
"I don't mean anything. Think whatever you like."
Even Chen Ting, with his good temper, couldn't hold back. He was over ten years older than this brat. Not only was the kid disrespectful, but he also snatched the seat Chen Ting had specifically saved for Lu Qingyu.
Although the seat didn't have a name written on it, the light underneath was lit, which meant it was implicitly taken.
"Snatching someone else's seat and acting so self-righteous about it."
Cui Yuzhe smiled: "Excuse me, but as far as I know, none of the seats inside the venue, except for the first row, have names written on them. What makes you say this is your seat?"
Chen Ting was infuriated by that statement. Cui Yuzhe's management company was notoriously repulsive in the industry. Their philosophy was that as long as you could become famous, you could stoop to any means, and naturally, their artists were all of this type.
Many melodramatic incidents in the industry were caused by artists from their company, but they had a formidable team of lawyers, so over time, people were reluctant to get involved with them.
Their artists were like sticky plasters—clingy and annoying.
Although Chen Ting was an artist, he was also the boss of two companies, so people in the industry generally gave him some face. This was the first time he had encountered someone being so aggressive toward him.
Lu Qingyu tugged at Chen Ting, feeling that Chen Ting was even more agitated than he was.
Cui Yuzhe refused to leave and kept mouthing off, so Chen Ting started arguing with him.
The sound of their argument grew louder, and people in the show venue looked over.
Cui Yuzhe looked utterly shameless, like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water. His photographer was still around; if Chen Ting dared to touch him, he would have the photographer release the photos, framing Chen Ting as a bully. Many fans would surely rally to his defense and absolutely tear Chen Ting apart online.
Cui Yuzhe was indifferent. Chen Ting was about to argue further when Cui Yuzhe suddenly stood up, plastered a fawning smile on his face, and squeezed past Chen Ting and Lu Qingyu.
This left Chen Ting and Lu Qingyu momentarily stunned. Then Chen Ting heard Cui Yuzhe say in English behind him:
"Hello, Mr. Louis, I am Cui Yuzhe, very pleased to meet you."
Louis was the person who had let Lu Qingyu take his private jet. His level of wealth couldn't be described merely as 'rich'; he was a Super Tycoon.
Among the Top Ten Luxury Brands of Fashion Week, he held shares in five of them. The haute couture gowns that others had to queue for years for, or weren't even qualified to wear, he wore as everyday clothes.
Before Cui Yuzhe came to Fashion Week, his Agent had told him that if he saw this person, he absolutely had to leave a good impression.
Brand endorsements that others desperately sought were nothing more than a single word from this man.
The moment Cui Yuzhe saw Louis, he recognized him instantly. He stepped forward right away. His photographer was still nearby, and he believed the photographer would capture the scene of him talking to Louis.
He could use this as a selling point later to make those brands think highly of him.
Who knew that Louis didn't even spare Cui Yuzhe a glance, but walked straight past him toward Lu Qingyu.
