137: Chapter 137 Tang's Knowledgeable Brother (Not referring to the surname)
"What's the matter?" Gu Yanxiao didn't even look up, turning a page of his book. "I'm currently looking through Xinxin's tenth-grade textbooks to learn a thing or two. It's truly tough for you two; the textbooks nowadays are much more complicated than when I was in school."
Gu Han walked over quickly and closed the textbook.
"Stop reading for a moment; I have an urgent matter." Gu Han said directly. "I've sent you the coordinates; come to my Divine Kingdom."
Gu Yanxiao took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "Go to your Divine Kingdom? Sure."
Although he didn't know why his son was suddenly looking for him, he had long been curious about Gu Han's Divine Kingdom.
Both of their consciousnesses entered the Divine Kingdom, and Gu Yanxiao's avatar descended into Gu Han's Divine Kingdom.
He looked around. Swarms of Ant-men were working in the experimental fields in the distance. Strange plants grew everywhere; even the grass by the roadside carried a divine aura, and the towering trees on the distant mountains resembled pillars supporting the heavens.
A look of slight shock flashed across Gu Yanxiao's face and vanished.
"You've been hiding quite a bit, haven't you, kid?" Gu Yanxiao pointed at the Ant-men who bowed as they passed by. "Are these bizarre things all made by you?"
Gu Han watched his dad's reaction, feeling a bit puzzled inside; this wasn't quite what he had imagined. "Some of the plants I managed myself. The rest were bought."
Gu Yanxiao nodded, a smile appearing on his face. "As expected of my son, this area is quite spacious. For someone your age, you're already much more impressive than I was back then."
Gu Han was stunned.
"Quite, spacious?" Gu Han pointed at the boundary that stretched beyond sight, his competitive spirit stirred. "This is over ninety thousand square kilometers. How big was yours back then?"
Gu Yanxiao scratched his head. "I recall it being over seventy thousand square kilometers. You've been participating in underground matches too, haven't you?"
Gu Han didn't know how to respond for a moment; it seemed his dad hadn't participated in few underground matches when he was young.
He had only achieved this area by luckily absorbing a Level 9 Demigod. His dad had started with only 300,000 square meters, so being able to expand to over 70,000 square kilometers as a Level 4 Divine Lord meant he definitely wasn't a well-behaved character.
He realized he knew very little about his dad's past. Gu Yanxiao waved his hand, interrupting Gu Han's train of thought.
"Alright, stop thinking about useless things." Gu Yanxiao moved his shoulders. "You called me over—are you planning to take me to a fight?"
Gu Han smiled, seeing the rare pride on his dad's face; for so many years, he had been suppressing himself.
"Yes, I've encountered some small trouble." Gu Han took a specially made gas mask and handed it over. "I need to borrow your skill to help out. However, you aren't allowed to tell anyone about my affairs, not even Mom."
Gu Yanxiao took the gas mask and put it on directly, as if he had become a different person. His voice sounded muffled. "Understood, then let's go."
...
Meanwhile, at the Tang Family villa.
Tang Wuying slowly opened his eyes. What met his gaze was a gorgeous crystal chandelier, and a large circle of people surrounded the bed.
The Patriarch Tang Ritian stood leaning on his cane, his father Tang Shan was full of concern, his uncle Tang Si craned his neck, and his mother Tang Ying was holding his hand directly.
"How are you, Wuying?" Tang Ying asked eagerly.
Looking at the expectant faces of his parents and elders, Tang Wuying's mind instantly flashed back to that flock of damned chickens, Ier's betrayal, and the face of Gu Han pointing at him and threatening him.
His whole body shuddered, and his hands subconsciously gripped the bedsheets tightly.
"How is it?" The Patriarch Tang Ritian spoke in a deep voice. "That contract, did you sign it?"
Everyone's gaze focused on Tang Wuying's face.
Tang Wuying swallowed a mouthful of saliva and finally nodded numbly. "It has been contracted."
As soon as he finished speaking, the atmosphere in the room instantly relaxed.
"Good!" His uncle Tang Si clapped his hands violently. "I told you, with the Level 7 Magic Instructor I introduced, it would absolutely be foolproof!"
Tang Ying couldn't stop smiling. "My son is truly impressive."
Tang Ritian stroked his beard, nodding with great satisfaction as he inquired, "Has the Divine Source been absorbed yet?"
Tang Wuying pursed his lips, a layer of cold sweat seeping from his forehead. He hadn't obtained any Divine Source at all; he had even handed over his own life.
"No." Tang Wuying lowered his head, not daring to meet everyone's eyes, his brain frantically searching for an excuse. "I discovered... that there were many good things in his Divine Kingdom, so..."
Before he had figured out how to continue the fabrication, Tang Si had already cut in.
"Understood! You wanted to empty it out before absorbing it, right!" Tang Si's eyes gleamed as he gave a thumbs up. "My nephew Wuying truly has the potential of a God! Such Heart-Nature, calm and unhurried, steady and experienced! If it were an ordinary person, they would have gobbled it up in a hurry upon seeing the Divine Source!"
"Not bad." Tang Ritian nodded again with great satisfaction, teaching him earnestly. "Once the Divine Kingdom's Divine Source is extracted, under the compression of space, many resources inside will be crushed. Knowing to absorb all utilizable resources is a very important quality. How do you plan to deal with Gu Han?"
Tang Wuying's head was buzzing. Deal with Gu Han? He just wanted to be as far away from that devil as possible now.
"Ah? Deal with?" Tang Wuying stammered. "I... I think his skills are quite good, I..."
"I understand again!" Tang Si interrupted him once more, clapping his hands. "You just want to keep his dog life, pair it with your skills, and make him work for you forever and ever! My nephew truly has a grand vision; he won't be blinded by previous grudges, turning everything into maximum profit!"
Tang Wuying opened his mouth, but couldn't say a single word.
Tang Ritian laughed even more heartily, nodding repeatedly.
"Very good!" Tang Ritian praised him highly. "It is very rare to find a Divine Lord suitable for your own skills. That you can set aside grudges and make good use of others—with this kind of bearing, my Tang Family will surely produce a terrifying God in the future!"
Tang Ying also wiped away tears of joy from the corners of her eyes.
Watching his elders self-brainwashing and wildly imagining things, Tang Wuying's heart was bleeding.
In the whole room, the family was immersed in beautiful fantasies about the future; only Tang Shan stood to the side, his brows furrowed, having not spoken the entire time. He knew his son too well.
He keenly sensed that his son's state was a bit off.
"Patriarch, Uncle, Father, Mother." Tang Wuying lowered his head, his voice sounding a bit weak. "I'm a bit tired and would like to rest."
"Good, good, good, you rest well." Tang Ritian waved his hand. "Whatever the matter is, we will discuss it in detail tomorrow."
Everyone left the room one after another, only Tang Shan remained.
The door closed. Tang Shan walked to the bedside and lowered his voice.
"Wuying, did you encounter some difficult matter?"
Hearing his father's voice, the emotions Tang Wuying had been suppressing finally collapsed.
His eyes instantly turned red, tears swirling inside, yet he gritted his teeth tightly and didn't make a sound.
Say that he was forced by Gu Han's skill to communicate feelings with chickens? Say that he had now become Gu Han's Puppet? He didn't know how to say it out loud.
After thinking for a long while, Tang Wuying suddenly remembered a sentence Gu Han had said unintentionally, and only then did he manage to choke out a sentence. "Who is Zhao Kun?"
