93: Chapter 93 Finding a Bargain?

Thick fog obscured the view, and a towering alloy wall tightly encircled the battlefield, its surface smooth and sturdy. The Undead Scourge slammed into the wall, emitting a teeth-grinding screech of friction.

The undead in the front couldn't climb up at all and could only mark time. They were like a group of robots that only knew how to execute orders, while the undead behind them surged forward, stepping directly on the skeletons of their companions to climb up.

In just a few minutes, the bones piled up into a mountain, and it looked like they were about to crest the towering wall.

But unexpectedly, behind the alloy wall were rows of massive Iron Vine Snake Banyan, forming a second barrier.

The skeleton undead swung their blades, sparks flying everywhere, as hundreds of thick vines instantly coiled and strangled them, the sound of grinding bones rising one after another.

The containment by the Iron Vine Snake Banyan bought time for the Ant-men army.

The Black-Armored Ant-men collectively took to the air, flying off first to form a black defensive line in mid-air, intercepting from above those undead attempting to climb over via other skeletons.

The Ant-fist Shrimp-men had their battle marks glowing, punching frantically at the surging undead until the air was filled with a charred smell.

Their fist winds howled, shattering swathes of bones entirely, with bone fragments falling down with a rustling sound.

The Shield-Armored Ant-Men below lined up, forming a thick, massive shield, acting as bulldozers beneath the alloy wall to shovel away all the skeleton undead piled at the base, destroying the stepping stones for the undead to climb up.

As time passed, Black-Armored Ant-men kept collapsing from exhaustion and falling from the sky. The Ant-fist Shrimp-men had their fists burning hot and cracking, while the Shield-Armored Ant-Men died of exhaustion, yet still kept their bodies rigidly tensed to hold back the piles of bones until they were submerged by the subsequent waves of undead.

Gu Han stared intently at the battle situation before him, his fists clenched tight; the situation was improving.

It could only be said that Undead Scourge hadn't anticipated that he would have defensive lines set up around the battlefield, and two layers of insurance at that.

Even though he split the undead army into several groups to break through from different directions, hoping for weak defenses elsewhere, the rows of Iron Vine Snake Banyan drove him to despair.

Undead Scourge: "Damn! Why are there so many of these cursed trees!"

The skeleton undead only knew how to execute orders; scattering to climb over the high wall and the Iron Vine Snake Banyan made their numbers dwindle even faster.

Three hundred thousand... two hundred thousand... one hundred thousand...

Until the last skeleton undead was blasted into powder by an Ant-Fist Shrimp-Man, the entire battlefield went completely silent.

Outside the alloy defensive wall, it was covered in a thick layer of bone powder and debris.

The host Joker's voice finally sounded.

[This round of defense is successful; the defending champion is still Riding Grandma Across the Road.]

Won.

Gu Han let out a long breath, his back already soaked with cold sweat.

The previously massive Ant-men army now only had seven tottering Shield-Armored Ant-Men left, along with three Ant-fist Shrimp-men lying on the ground, panting heavily.

The rest of the Ant-men had all died of exhaustion during the long war of attrition.

Gu Han narrowly won with an extremely slim advantage.

At this moment, the barrage in the event's live stream had completely exploded.

The whole screen was filled with the wails of gamblers.

"Refund! Give me back my Credits!"

"Over four hundred thousand undead troops! Undead Scourge, what are you good for? How could you lose even with this?"

"I bet my entire three years' salary on you, you useless piece of trash!"

Amidst the cursing, someone finally reacted and sensed something was wrong.

"What the hell kind of race are Old Granny's followers? They're huge in number, high in combat power, and their stamina is so absurd?"

"Does any expert know where this creature can be bought?"

The viewers in the live stream asked frantically, but no one could provide an answer.

At this moment, Gu Han looked at the three hundred million in principal and two hundred million in winnings that had appeared on the settlement screen, but there was no joy on his face.

He only felt lingering fear.

That battle just now was too close.

He looked at the skeletons and debris covering the ground, as well as the bodies of the fifteen thousand fallen Ant-men, and a terrible thought flashed through his mind.

If Undead Scourge's divine master skill had a short enough cooldown, and if the opponent could convert those fifteen thousand Ant-men corpses back into skeleton undead...

Then he absolutely wouldn't be able to defend against it.

This was a challenge against a higher level! It wasn't a friendly sparring match; the slightest carelessness would result in the collapse of his Divine Kingdom.

"I was still too complacent; I cannot let my guard down again." Gu Han rubbed his cheeks vigorously.

All the preparations along the way were still stretched thin, and there were even times when his own skills failed.

He still underestimated these top-tier contestants who could fight their way out among tens of thousands; everyone had their own trump cards.

Gu Han's gaze gradually darkened.

He was able to get this far by constantly learning lessons from battles and making changes in time.

The barrage in the live stream started to stir up trouble again.

"Old Granny has no troops left! Time to pick up the scraps!"

"Look at his Divine Kingdom; only ten crippled followers are left, along with those defensive towers!"

"Whoever goes next will win!"

"A free defensive title, go grab it!"

The barrage scrolled frantically, and the eyes of the remaining twenty-plus contestants turned red.

In their view, Old Granny's trump cards had been completely exhausted, and the Divine Kingdom was now just an empty shell; whoever grabbed the right to attack the challenge would easily take down this low-health defending champion.

The challenge broadcast lit up: [Next challenger: Old Granny Collector].

Seeing this ID, Gu Han raised an eyebrow.

This name clearly meant they were coming for him.

There was only a five-minute rest period, and a new betting pool opened quickly.

Gu Han glanced at the odds panel; although he had just pulled an upset win over Undead Scourge, everyone had seen with their own eyes that his followers were wiped out.

Therefore, the odds of betting on him to win remained high, even higher than the previous round, soaring directly to an astonishing 1 to 8.

Looking at these odds, Gu Han felt even more vigilant.

The odds are so high, could it be another big shot? Or is it that these gamblers think he's definitely going to die and have bet all their money on the other side?

No matter the reason, Gu Han didn't intend to be polite.

He took all five hundred million Credits won in the last round, including the principal, and bet it all on himself to win without leaving a single cent.

After uploading his Divine Kingdom coordinates, he immediately set about arranging his troop deployment.

The countdown reached zero, and the duel officially began.

[Old Granny Collector] laughed as he entered: "Old Granny! If you don't want your Divine Kingdom to be destroyed, you'd better hand over all the resources in your Divine Kingdom, and I can spare your life."

This person was clearly prepared; he sent out forty thousand Level 3 Lizardman, eight thousand Level 4 Lizardman, with no low-level followers, and all of them were wearing gas masks.

There were even a hundred giant Wind-Swallowing Beasts, shaped like toads. As soon as they appeared, they opened their mouths to suck up the thick fog, their chests and abdomens swelling like balls.

The Wind-Swallowing Beasts were all poisoned to death, but the thick fog became thin, and visibility was restored.

[Old Granny Collector] was just about to speak, but he saw a terrifying scene he would never forget in his life.

Behind the flower bushes, it was packed densely with the same brave and battle-hardened followers as before; even on the distant alloy city walls, there were many followers, some crouching, some standing, their antennae twitching, in numbers so exaggerated it was hair-raising.

It was like lifting a blanket and seeing a bed full of cockroaches.

Gu Han didn't want to experience the feeling of luck and lingering fear again, so he simply mobilized an army of five hundred thousand Ant-men to stand by this time; in his small Divine Kingdom, even the underground nests were packed with Ant-men.

In this situation, [Old Granny Collector] could only laugh awkwardly: "Hehehe... Hehehahahaha..."
