139: Chapter 139 We seem to be surrounded.
A completely different aura suddenly erupted from the body of the eighth-level Lizardman leader.
"You actually dare to come back!"
The Lizardman leader swung its great hammer again, knocking away a few Shield-Armored Ant-Men that were attempting to get close. It tilted its head back, its voice becoming layered and echoing: "I advise you to stop immediately, take your lowly bugs, and get lost. Do not touch my followers, or you will regret it."
So, it was the arrival of a Demigod's consciousness.
Gu Han rode on the broad back of the Earth Rampager, steadying himself on a protruding rock above the canyon. Upon hearing this threat, he didn't even frown.
"Sorry, but I've decided to kill these followers of yours today." Gu Han looked down at the canyon, his voice resonating with Qi in all directions. "I also advise you all: take five minutes to withdraw from the cave and return the nuclear fire crystal vein to me, otherwise, you will regret it."
"Hahaha!"
The eighth-level Lizardman Demigod laughed in extreme rage, slamming its heavy hammer into the ground, sending gravel flying: "You speak as if you cleared this cave! You fled in a panic earlier, yet now you dare to boast to me, you defeated loser!"
"Too much nonsense. Kill them all!" Gu Han couldn't be bothered to nag any further. He always considered himself quite easygoing, but these people never listened to reason.
Dealing with these hundred or so eighth-level followers by brute force was absolutely out of the question. Even with his dad's [Blade of Breaking Formation] reducing the opponent's defense by fifty percent, the attack power of an eighth-level transcendent was still the real deal; sending the Shield-Armored Ant-Men in would just be suicide.
Gu Han moved his mind, and the order was issued instantly.
The Shield-Armored Ant-Men originally surrounding the inner circle retreated rapidly, clearing space.
Above the canyon, the Black-Armored Ant-men swooped down in swarms. They weren't seeking kills at all; it was purely suicidal harassment.
Compared to the previous tactic of throwing their lives away, they could now rely on their flexible aerial maneuvering to harass while also dodging.
"Get lost! These disgusting bugs!" The Lizardman Demigod controlled the leader's body, waving the great hammer frantically, whipping up gusts of wind in an attempt to shred the Black-Armored Ant-men.
Just as the Lizards were being driven dizzy by the aerial harassment, the ground soil churned, and the Ant-fist Shrimp-men in the sand launched their attack.
They didn't make a sound, using the cover of the Black-Armored Ant-men to silently close in beneath the Lizards.
An Ant-Fist Shrimp-Man suddenly darted out from the side, smashing fiercely into the back of an eighth-level Lizardman's knee.
It wasn't enough to completely break its defense, but it was enough to make it lose its balance, creating space for other Ant-fist Shrimp-men to deal damage.
Hundreds upon thousands of Ant-fist Shrimp-men were like dragonflies skimming the water; they charged their punches, smashed fiercely into the cracked scales of the Lizards, and then used the recoil force to spring away.
Killing them directly was best; this situation, where they didn't need to capture them alive, allowed the Ant-men to unleash their full potential.
The eighth-level Lizardman leader fell once and was hit by dozens of punches in a row. Its whole body was in excruciating pain, and the originally fine cracks were already bleeding.
The Ant-men were like slippery loaches. Even if some were occasionally killed by it, most stopped after one hit and ran away. At this rate, its injuries would only get heavier and more numerous.
The Demigod taking over the shell realized the situation was completely wrong. The attack power and coordination of this group of first-level bugs were ridiculously high; it couldn't stand it anymore.
"You just wait!"
The Demigod dropped a harsh threat and decisively cut off the consciousness connection.
The strange color in the Lizardman leader's eyes faded, and it regained its own consciousness, but it was already covered in wounds.
Gu Han stood on the high ground, his voice echoing throughout the entire canyon: "Your god has abandoned you! Are you ready to face endless torment?"
This sentence became the final straw that broke the Lizardmen's psychological defenses.
Gu Han ordered them to kill at any cost and accelerate the pace. He had to grind these eighth-level transcendents to death before those three Demigods could lead their main armies out in full force.
This place was only a short distance from the cave entrance. Gu Han had deliberately chosen to set an ambush in this canyon to lure them out.
The temperature inside the cave was extremely high; the Ant-fist Shrimp-men were simply not suited for long-term combat there.
Just then, a few Hidden-Armor Ant-men broke out of the ground from a distant sand dune and quickly delivered intelligence to Gu Han.
The enemy's main army had already fully mobilized and was flanking towards the canyon.
There wasn't much time left for Gu Han.
The battle in the canyon had completely reached a white-hot stage. Under the continuous buff of [Blade of Breaking Formation], the hundred eighth-level Lizards were finally ground to death by the overwhelming number of Ant-men.
When the last Lizardman fell, its massive body slammed into the sand, kicking up a circle of dust, and the Ant-men quickly dragged the corpse beneath the sand.
Gu Han quickly tallied the combat losses.
In this small-scale battle, the Ant-men lost over eight thousand. Facing over a hundred eighth-level transcendent creatures, this casualty count was completely within his acceptable range.
If not for his dad's godly skill that reduced defense by half, the casualty count today would likely have multiplied several times over.
Suddenly, a few deafening bird cries came from the horizon. The sound was extremely piercing, making one's eardrums ache.
Tens of thousands of winged figures swooped down from the clouds; they were sixth-level Bird-men. Like swordfish diving into a school of sardines, they charged into the Black-Armored Ant-men in the air.
Sharp claws and wings intertwined in mid-air; many Black-Armored Ant-men had their bodies torn apart and fell one after another.
Gu Han looked up at the chaotic battle filling the sky.
It seemed the types of followers under those three Demigods were now quite clear. A sixth-level Bird-man Demigod, an eighth-level Lizardman Demigod, plus a seventh-level Troll Demigod.
"Dad, the wind is picking up, let's bail!"
Gu Han grabbed Gu Yanxiao's arm, and the two immediately escaped into the underground through the tunnel dug by the Earth Rampager.
They had descended with their consciousness bodies; outside, there were tens of thousands of Bird-men with aerial vision circling.
If they were spotted by a Bird-man, having their main consciousness damaged was no joke; there was no room for even the slightest carelessness.
Gu Yanxiao leaned against the sand wall, gasping for air, his face still pale. At first, when he learned that Gu Han was ambushing that group of eighth-level Lizards, he had been shocked.
"Three Demigods! How are you so bold, kid!"
Gu Han brushed the sand off his body, smiling with an easy expression.
"Isn't that why you're here?"
Gu Yanxiao coughed twice and waved his hand awkwardly: "Stop making fun of me. Your dad is just a hanger-on right now; I don't have a single follower in my hand."
"Don't sell yourself short." Gu Han looked at him seriously. "Without your [Blade of Breaking Formation], I wouldn't have had the confidence to go head-to-head with these three Demigods today. If I didn't vent this frustration, I wouldn't be able to sleep well for a month."
Gu Han actually wanted to say that he wished he could just strap his dad to his belt.
Muffled vibrations kept coming from the ground. It was the resonance caused by a large number of heavy creatures trampling the sand.
Gu Yanxiao walked up the slope two steps, secretly poked half his head out, and looked outside through the gap of the tunnel entrance.
Those Trolls and Lizards had blocked both ends of the canyon completely, and the Bird-men in the sky were still engaged in fierce battle with the Black-Armored Ant-men.
Gu Yanxiao pulled his head back, swallowed, and turned to look at Gu Han.
"Son... it seems we are surrounded."
