13: Chapter 13 Are you sure he's only a C-level?

The light gate flickered as the first wave of invaders teleported in.

It was a red-eyed giant ground rat, larger than a cat. It had just poked its head out, baring its buckteeth, before it could even let out a squeak.

The Large Honey Badger swiped at it, grabbed the rat by the neck, opened its maw, and with a "crack," bit off half its head, bones and all.

"First wave defense successful. The next wave will begin in a sixty-second countdown..."

Sixty seconds? The Honey Badger would probably just walk away by then.

Without hesitation, Gu Han decisively pressed the "Skip Wait, Start Immediately" button on the panel.

In the second wave, five wild boars rushed out. The Honey Badger charged head-on, tanking their tusks, and bit through the throat of the lead boar.

"Skip wait."

Third wave, fourth wave...

Gu Han simply kept clicking. The early invading species were quite basic, and although their numbers were increasing, the Large Honey Badger was crushing them completely, relying solely on its thick hide.

After ten consecutive waves, a small mountain of corpses piled up in front of the teleportation gate.

The Large Honey Badger, on the contrary, was truly fired up. It clawed at the edge of the light gate, half its body already inside, letting out angry low growls.

Meanwhile, in the plaza outside.

On the giant holographic screen, the candidates' ranking data was scrolling in real-time. The leaderboard was sorted entirely by the number of waves passed, from highest to lowest.

The first place was a girl named Lin Chuxue, who had already reached the twelfth wave. Next was Wang Teng at the eleventh wave. Everyone at the top was a prominent figure from the key universities in Jiangcheng City, all with Divine Kingdom ratings above S-Rank.

At the very bottom of the screen, next to Gu Han's name, the red "0" suddenly blurred.

Immediately after, as if the system had glitched and then suddenly spiked, the numbers jumped crazily. 1! 5! 7! 9! It finally settled at 10.

Gu Han's name shot from the bottom into the top ten. The students ahead of him were also on the tenth wave, but Gu Han was ranked ninth because of his low rating. The noise in the entire plaza was cut off as if by a knife, instantly falling into dead silence.

"Is... is the system broken? What kind of jumping is this?"

"He doesn't even need time to rest? He keeps clicking for the next wave?!"

"How did this C-Rank Gu Han suddenly jump into the top ten?"

"This speed is actually faster than most S-Ranks! Look, he's already fifth!"

Inside the assessment space, Gu Han adjusted the Iron Vine Snake Banyan to surround the area near the light gate, preventing other monsters from bypassing the Large Honey Badger and entering the depths of his Divine Kingdom.

It wasn't until the twentieth wave that a qualitative change finally occurred. More than thirty Green-Backed Wind Blade Wolves poured out from the light gate like a tide.

These wolves were sturdy, extremely fast, and had a strong sense of teamwork, with clear division of labor.

No matter how fierce the Large Honey Badger was, it was still outnumbered. After biting four wolves to death, it was surrounded by the remaining pack, which began to use their speed to wear it down in a tag-team battle.

Five minutes later, the Honey Badger's stamina was finally exhausted. Its thick fur was covered in bloody gashes, and it lay on the ground, too lazy to move. A few wolves seized the opportunity and immediately pounced, tearing at it frantically.

This Large Honey Badger still needed to be kept as a beast species; it couldn't die just like that.

Gu Han made a split-second decision, his fingers flying across the virtual panel.

Over a hundred Honey Badger Chickens on the island in the center of the Divine Kingdom lake were bundled up by Gu Han with a single thought and air-dropped precisely in front of the light gate.

These hundred-plus combat chickens descended from the sky like a rainstorm, crashing directly into the middle of the wolf pack.

The Wind Blade Wolves were completely stunned. Before they could react, the flock of chickens had pounced on them like madmen.

Gu Han had kept these Honey Badger Chickens hungry for a while beforehand. They were extremely brutal and didn't care about defense at all. Their claws hung tightly onto the wolves' backs, wings flapping wildly. No matter how the wolves rolled or shook, they wouldn't let go, tearing off flesh and skin by force.

Taking advantage of the chaos in the wolf pack, Gu Han immediately sent the heavily injured Large Honey Badger back to its lair and tossed it a few Six-Winged Chickens to help it recover.

Looking back at the teleportation gate, the battle had turned into a one-sided massacre.

The hundred-plus Honey Badger Chickens were brave and skilled in battle; the speed that the Green-Backed Wind Blade Wolves prided themselves on was useless against such absolute numbers.

In less than ten minutes, all thirty-plus wolves had fallen under the chickens' claws.

However, trouble came immediately.

With no enemies left on the field, the Honey Badger Chickens' innate warlike genes had nowhere to vent, and they actually turned to glare at their own companions.

The two sturdiest roosters locked eyes, suddenly clucked, flapped their wings, and dove into each other, pecking away.

With these two taking the lead, the remaining hundred-plus chickens instantly went wild, and a large-scale internal brawl broke out.

"Damn, having no brains is really a headache." Gu Han rubbed his temples.

This is the trouble with mindless beasts; they can't understand commands, have no organization or discipline, and if there are no external enemies, they attack their own kind.

He absolutely could not let them continue this infighting.

Gu Han quickly clicked the panel to start the next wave!

The light gate flickered again. The monsters of the twenty-first wave had just poked their heads out.

The Honey Badger Chickens, which had been fighting each other, immediately stopped, turned their heads in unison, and hundreds of red eyes stared fixedly at the light gate.

Fortunately, when there were external enemies, they could unite against them.

In an instant, over a hundred chickens turned into a black and white torrent, directly drowning the invading monsters that had just run out.

Gu Han had completely figured out the temperament of these masters, so he simply kept his finger hovering over the "Start Immediately" button. As soon as the chickens cleared the field and prepared to fight each other, he would immediately summon more monsters.

As long as there were external enemies, this flock of chickens was the most ruthless meat grinder.

In front of the giant screen outside.

Half an hour had passed since the assessment began.

The thousands of candidates and the team leaders from various schools were all standing there like wooden statues, necks craned, staring fixedly at the sky.

The leaderboard had completely changed.

Lin Chuxue, who had previously dominated the leaderboard, was stuck at the twenty-third wave. A red light representing damage to her Divine Kingdom lit up behind her name, and she was struggling to hold on.

Wang Teng had voluntarily withdrawn from the assessment at the twentieth wave; combat power loss was the bottom line for many candidates.

Many students would immediately withdraw from the assessment as soon as there were signs of damage to their Divine Kingdom.

And that C-Rank candidate Gu Han, whom everyone thought was using connections...

His name was hanging steadily at the very top of the first-place position! Shining with golden light!

Following it was a line of eye-catching data.

Divine Kingdom creatures damaged, current wave: 32. Kill count: 953.

"Are you crazy... thirty-two waves in half an hour? Did he stuff a knight regiment into his Divine Kingdom?!"

"I spent 500,000 on arrow tower blueprints and only managed to grind to the nineteenth wave! Are you sure he's only C-Rank? I don't believe it!"

The crowd completely exploded, with exclamations and questioning voices filling the air.

Chu Yue's mouth hung open, and her cheeks felt like they were burning with pain. She had just withdrawn from the assessment with a score of the fifteenth wave and had been feeling quite pleased with herself, but when she looked up, Gu Han's data from her own class crushed her into dust.

Teacher Qin Lin swallowed hard, her palms covered in cold sweat: "Gu Han... how on earth did you do it?"

She hurriedly opened the vital sign detection for the Large Honey Badger and found that it had only suffered minor injuries and was even starting to recover.

Meanwhile.

In the monitoring room on the top floor of the evaluation center, the atmosphere was so heavy it felt like it could drip water.

"Sir, there is definitely a problem with this data." The balding examiner stood up abruptly, pointing at the line chart on the screen, "Thirty-two waves of invasion; this comprehensive combat power is already approaching that of a First-Order Transcendent Lifeform. Even if the Large Honey Badger he raised is tough, its stamina couldn't possibly last this long."
