69: Chapter 69 I Don't Like Chickens

Jiangcheng City, Poseidon Pavilion Restaurant.

Gu Han sat in Teacher Qin Lin's hovercar, which was parked in a VIP spot at the entrance of the restaurant. The two got out and, guided by a waiter, walked straight to a window seat in the second-floor hall.

Prices here were exorbitant; even a casual meal would start at five figures. Gu Han grabbed the menu without even glancing at the prices and ordered King Crab, a Bluefin Tuna sashimi platter, Australian lobster, and several signature dishes.

"Teacher Qin, is this standard for treating a guest sufficient? Can you help guide me now?" Gu Han crossed his hands on the table, getting straight to the point.

Teacher Qin Lin proudly wiped her hands, her expression clearly one of satisfaction. She hadn't expected Gu Han to take her directly to the most expensive seafood restaurant in the city. Compared to him, the blind dates she had met at coffee shops earlier today were incomparable.

"You're quite generous. As for transcendent life, it varies from person to person. For the Divine Kingdom, stepping into the transcendent realm is like opening the door to a new world."

"You can focus on cultivating a few individuals. As long as one person in the tribe enters the transcendent realm and breaks through that barrier, the rules of the entire Divine Kingdom will be rewritten. At that point, other tribespeople will also be affected, and the difficulty for them to enter the transcendent realm will drop significantly."

Gu Han leaned back in his chair and looked at Teacher Qin Lin. The public textbooks at school only mentioned the natural evolution of believers and resource stacking; they never touched upon such clever shortcuts.

"Is this information reliable? How do you know this?" Gu Han asked.

Teacher Qin Lin lowered her voice and leaned forward.

"My dad told me. He's in the Military Defense Department, and this is how the military does it."

A method from the military—that should be reliable information verified through constant practice.

"But this can't be rushed." Teacher Qin Lin sat back and continued picking at her food. "Popular races are relatively easier to reach the transcendent threshold. For example, Sapiens, because they share the same human origin as our Divine Master and have similar genetic architectures, are the easiest to communicate with and guide. After that come Orcs, Elves, and so on."

She sighed. "Because of my skills, my Orcs can easily break through their limits and gain transcendent traits, so I level up faster than ordinary races. But even before that, I didn't manage to push one Orc chieftain to Transcendent Level 1 until I was almost graduating from university."

Gu Han listened and raised a question.

"What about Chu Yue? During the last exam, some of her Orcs had already touched the threshold of Level 1. How do you explain that?"

Teacher Qin Lin put down her chopsticks and asked in return.

"What is Chu Yue's awakening skill?"

"Ice Bloodline," Gu Han replied.

"Exactly." Teacher Qin Lin snapped her fingers. "Ice Bloodline is a bloodline enhancement skill, and the Orcs' racial trait 'Berserk' is essentially a squeezing of bloodline power. The two are nearly homologous. If the Divine Master's skill is compatible with the believer's racial trait, the speed of breaking through to the transcendent realm will increase exponentially."

Teacher Qin Lin analyzed patiently: "For example, if your skill is related to magic elements and you choose the Elf race, the speed at which your believers break through to the transcendent realm will be faster than others."

Gu Han understood.

He hadn't expected there to be a concept of compatibility; the two-way matching of skills and racial traits was the core.

Gu Han's mind raced. His skill was [Forced Breeding].

What race likes Reproduction the most? Or rather, which race's transcendent traits are related to Reproduction?

According to Teacher Qin Lin's theory, if he wanted to pursue the fastest breakthrough speed, should he have chosen Goblin back then? After all, one of the Goblin's racial traits was "Disorderly Reproduction." Their Reproduction desire would definitely be a perfect match for his skill.

But Gu Han had chosen Ant-men. Wouldn't the Ant-men's Reproduction speed be even faster?

Thinking carefully, the Ant-men's way of reproduction was completely different from Goblin, even different from most other races. The reproduction of insectoids was highly centralized.

All worker ants and soldier ants had no reproductive ability. The burden of reproduction for the entire Ant-man Race fell solely on the Queen, so it wasn't a very good fit.

Gu Han wouldn't consider Goblin; the overall quality of the Ant-men was definitely several dimensions higher than Goblin.

He didn't need to worry about the army of 90,000 Ant-men; perhaps he could try concentrating resources on the Queen. Besides, most of the Queens had already cultivated the Swallowing Heaven Bloodline Method to a minor level.

Let the first transcendent lead the subsequent ones.

Just as Gu Han figured out the key link and was about to continue asking about the specific operational details, a slightly frivolous male voice suddenly came from the aisle.

"Teacher Qin Lin? It really is you, what a coincidence."

A young man in a dark blue casual suit stood at the entrance, holding half a glass of red wine with a very affected posture. Beside him was a woman in a revealing camisole dress, wearing heavy makeup, tightly clutching the man's arm.

The smile on Teacher Qin Lin's face vanished instantly, and her brows furrowed.

"Chen Feng?"

The man was Chen Feng, Teacher Qin Lin's college first love. Not long after they got together previously, Teacher Qin Lin's parents had checked the man's background, deemed his character lacking, and forcibly broke the two up.

And the facts proved them right; Chen Feng had hooked up with another girl as soon as they broke up. This had hurt Teacher Qin Lin for a long time before she could move on.

It was just that Teacher Qin Lin hadn't expected the woman he was holding now to be her roommate from her four years of university, Li Jiaojiao.

Li Jiaojiao looked Teacher Qin Lin up and down, her gaze then landing on Gu Han, and she covered her mouth and giggled.

"It really is you, Teacher Qin Lin. Chen Feng said you looked like her, but I didn't believe it. Is this your boyfriend? So this is the type you like?"

Teacher Qin Lin's expression was a bit ugly, but given the occasion, she explained stiffly.

"No, this is a student I'm mentoring."

"Oh my." Li Jiaojiao exclaimed exaggeratedly, leaning into Chen Feng's arms. "It's so late, and you're still taking a student out for seafood? Tutoring after class must be really tiring."

Chen Feng chimed in with feigned seriousness: "Jiaojiao, say less. I heard Teacher Qin Lin is doing okay at Dongjiang University; taking students out is just part of the job."

Gu Han could roughly tell that Teacher Qin Lin's relationship with these two wasn't deep, and they didn't exactly get along.

He picked up his chopsticks and poked around in the casserole in front of him, which contained a free-range chicken used for enhancing the flavor.

"Teacher, what breed of chicken is this? Why would even a high-end restaurant like the Poseidon Pavilion allow such a wild chicken on the table? It's truly unappetizing."

The smile on Li Jiaojiao's face froze, her complexion turning pale and then red. Chen Feng had invited her to the Poseidon Pavilion for a date today, and she had dressed extremely revealingly—how could she not understand the implication of "wild chicken on the table"?

Teacher Qin Lin was stunned at first, then reacted, nearly unable to hold back a laugh. She forcibly suppressed the corners of her mouth and shook her head, playing along with Gu Han.

"I'm not too sure, I suppose it's just a garnish."

"So it's a garnish. I don't like chicken. Waiter! Take this chicken away." Gu Han snapped his fingers to summon the waiter to take it away.

Unexpectedly, Li Jiaojiao was so angry that her chest heaved violently, and she pointed at Gu Han and cursed.

"Who are you calling a wild chicken, you little brat!"

Chen Feng's expression also darkened. He hurriedly reached out to pull Li Jiaojiao back and turned to look at Teacher Qin Lin.

"Teacher Qin Lin, aren't you going to make an introduction?"

Teacher Qin Lin elegantly pulled out a tissue to wipe her mouth and leaned back in her chair, unhurriedly.

"We were talking about chicken, what's wrong with her? Well, I'll introduce him then."

Teacher Qin Lin lifted her chin: "These two are my college classmates, currently teaching at Jiangcheng University."

Then, Teacher Qin Lin opened her palm and pointed at Gu Han, a hint of pride in her tone that she hadn't even noticed herself.

"This is the student I'm mentoring, a freshman from Dongjiang University, Gu Han."

Upon hearing the words "freshman," Chen Feng let out a scoff, wanting to say that Teacher Qin Lin actually liked them so young, but upon hearing the name Gu Han, a look of surprise immediately appeared on his face.

"He is Gu Han!"
