106: Chapter 106 Ant-Man Professional League

Jiangcheng University Combat Training Hall.

Today is the opening day of the War God Professional League. The entire venue is packed, filled with the roar of the crowd.

The reward of ten thousand square kilometers of Divine Source has spread like wildfire throughout Jiangcheng City, and many people from surrounding cities have even rushed over to join the excitement.

The front-row VIP seats are filled with representatives from major consortiums and enterprises. A reward of this caliber is enough to make those large companies enter the fray to scout for potential talent.

In the Dongjiang University preparation area, Gu Han leans back in his chair, resting his eyes.

"That's Gu Han from Dongjiang University!"

"Him? He actually dared to show up. I heard Dongjiang University has bet everything on him."

"He's a bad apple who ruins everything, driving up the score threshold. It's truly sickening."

"This kind of academic dog deserves to be thoroughly crushed!"

The surroundings are filled with boos and discussions, eyes brimming with resentment.

Teacher Qin Lin sits next to Gu Han. "The rewards this time are too generous; I heard several geniuses have signed up. By the way, what did you say to the Principal? How confident are you?"

Gu Han waves his hand. "Don't worry, it's a guaranteed win. The Principal ruined my reputation, so I just asked him for some benefits."

He recalls the tug-of-war in the Principal's office before leaving.

That was a few hours ago.

"Principal, you've really screwed me over! I get pointed at and cursed at every day! If I actually get a good ranking, you won't sell me out again, will you?"

Principal Zhang Anhai rubs his nose. "How could that be? Wasn't I trying to do a good thing that turned out bad? I didn't anticipate this kind of impact at the time."

"Then, if I bring back a championship for you this time, you have to cover my future education expenses. Also, if my sister Gu Xin gets into Jiangcheng University, you cover her tuition too."

Principal Zhang Anhai curls his lip. "What kind of madness are you spouting now? Trying to blackmail me? You, a champion? If you bring back a championship, I'll sell everything I own to support you."

"That's what you said, I recorded it." Gu Han smiles and puts away his handheld console.

Principal Zhang Anhai laughs in anger and slams the table. "You haven't even started yet, and you're already trying to extort me? If you don't get a result, just wait and see how I deal with you..."

Gu Han pulls back his thoughts, having finally hooked the old geezer of a Principal. If he wins the championship, perhaps a higher-tier Divine Kingdom Academy might actually recruit him.

The broadcast suddenly sounds.

"The first match of the Freshman Division points tournament: Gu Han from Dongjiang University versus Wang Cheng from Xijiang University! Will both contestants please take the stage!"

Gu Han stands up, twists his neck, and strolls leisurely toward the combat pod.

Opposite him, the boy named Wang Cheng has been waiting there for a while, his face full of excitement.

"Gu Han, right?" Wang Cheng points at him, his voice loud. "Our Principal said..."

Gu Han interrupts him directly. "Alright, shut up. I'm in a hurry."

Wang Cheng snorts coldly, and a Divine Kingdom passage opens in mid-air. Immediately after, a dark, swarming mass of creatures pours onto the battlefield.

Black-Armored Ant-men!

There are over five hundred of them!

The audience below instantly erupts.

"Damn! Those are Black-Armored Ant-men! The ones that have been selling like crazy recently!"

"I heard their combat power is extremely strong, almost invincible at the same level. This Wang Cheng is really willing to spend money!"

"Five hundred of them? That must have cost at least several million credit points, right?"

Wang Cheng raises his chin, looking very proud. "Scared, aren't you? This is the kin I bought with a heavy investment. Today, I'll let you know what the power of pay-to-win is!"

Gu Han is momentarily speechless. Originally, to pursue rapid proliferation, he had sold them quite cheaply. He doesn't know how many times they were resold by scalpers afterward, causing the price to skyrocket.

It's laughable that this silly kid is so happy about it.

Truly, a poor man playing with ants.

Gu Han raises his hand and snaps his fingers, and the Divine Kingdom passage opens with a boom.

One thousand Black-Armored Ant-men!

The smile on Wang Cheng's face instantly freezes, and the audience below collectively falls silent.

In the following few matches, Gu Han finds everything extremely boring. He hadn't expected the influence of the Ant-man Race to be this great; the entire Freshman Division tournament has completely turned into a battle for Ant-men supremacy.

Seven out of ten matches use the Ant-man Race as believers.

No matter how many the opponent brings out, Gu Han can always bring out double the number to crush them.

The entire flavor of the competition has changed.

Meanwhile, the lead teachers from the other universities can no longer sit still.

The lead teachers from Xijiang University, Beijiang University, and Nanjiang University storm over to surround the referee's bench.

Li Jiaojiao from Jiangcheng University is also among them, fanning the flames.

"Chief Referee, this is unfair!" The teacher from Xijiang University slams the table. "The Ant-man Race's stats are clearly overpowered. These aren't believers cultivated by the students themselves; they are purely mercenaries bought with money!"

"That's right! Divine Kingdom battles are supposed to test a student's cultivation ability and ecological development. The origin of this Ant-man Race is unknown, and it completely ruins the balance of the competition!"

Jiangcheng University teacher Li Jiaojiao loudly echoes, "We strongly demand that the organizers intervene and ban the use of the Ant-man Race in the competition! Otherwise, this competition should just be called the Ant-men Supremacy Tournament!"

The Chief Referee is sweating profusely. He also thinks it's absurd; it's purely a contest of who has more Ant-men.

The Ant-man Race has indeed been too popular recently; many people are buying them frantically for quick results. This thing's combat power is too exaggerated; believers of the same level simply cannot hold up against them.

To ensure the "fairness" of the competition, the senior management of the organizers holds an emergency short meeting.

Ten minutes later, the broadcast in the Combat Training Hall sounds.

"Emergency notice!"

"In view of the large-scale circulation of Ant-men believers in the market recently, which seriously affects the balance of the competition, the organizing committee has unanimously decided that, effective immediately, all contestants in the Freshman Division are prohibited from using the 'Ant-man Race' unit for battles!"

"Violators will be directly disqualified!"

As soon as this broadcast is made, the whole venue is in an uproar.

Immediately following that is a deafening cheer. The audience already held resentment toward Gu Han, and seeing him consistently use the Ant-man Race to crush his opponents to victory only made them more dissatisfied.

"Good ban!"

"The Ant-men Professional League has officially ended!"

"Let's see how that Gu Han acts arrogant now!"

"Without Ant-men, he's nothing!"

Dongjiang University preparation area.

Teacher Qin Lin stands up abruptly, her face turning livid.

"This is bullying! Changing the rules midway through the competition, what kind of nonsense is this!" Teacher Qin Lin is trembling with anger. "They are obviously targeting you!"

The sound of high heels approaches.

Li Jiaojiao walks over with a few students from Jiangcheng University, her face full of schadenfreude.

"Oh my, Teacher Qin, what a pity." Li Jiaojiao covers her mouth, laughing happily. "The Ant-men that you Dongjiang University sold everything to buy have now become useless decorations."

Teacher Qin Lin turns her head, gritting her teeth. "Li Jiaojiao, was it you?!"

Li Jiaojiao shrugs. "Don't slander me; this was a unanimous decision by everyone. Borrowed power is, after all, not one's own. I think you are destined to lose."

She glances at Gu Han sitting in the chair and snorts contemptuously. "Student Gu Han, you'd better do your best in the upcoming matches."

Teacher Qin Lin is so angry her face turns red. She never says the word "bitch," but turns to look at Gu Han. "Gu Han, what should we do?"

Gu Han leans back in his chair, toying with an empty water bottle in his hand. He is trying very hard to hold back his laughter.

He originally thought this competition was like children playing house, and now, because they can't win, they resort to reporting him.

What a bunch of little trash; they have no strength, yet they can't handle losing.

Gu Han stands up, casually tosses the empty bottle into a trash can in the distance, and walks toward the competition arena.

"From now on, I won't lose a single match, and I'll sweep through the rest."
