26: Chapter 26 You're Quite a Gentleman

Teacher Qin Lin froze, her outstretched hand hanging in mid-air.

Gu Han turned his head, and he and Teacher Qin Lin stared at each other.

"Well, you see…" Gu Han said tentatively, "How about we try asking another place?"

Teacher Qin Lin sighed helplessly, "Most of the hotels here are fully booked. With the rain so heavy outside, we probably won't find any vacant rooms if we leave."

Both of them were soaked, and their clothes were sticking to their bodies, which was uncomfortable. Teacher Qin Lin bit her lip and made up her mind.

At least this was a room with two beds.

She pushed her ID card forward, "We'll take this twin room!"

Holding the room card, they both walked silently toward the elevator, a tacit understanding between them.

"Ding!"

The elevator doors opened, and they found room 502.

With a beep, the door opened, and they stepped inside quickly.

The room was fairly spacious, with two single beds placed side by side, separated by a small nightstand. In the corner, there was a drum washing machine equipped with a drying function.

Both of them had been caught in the rain, and their wet clothes clung to their skin, which was extremely uncomfortable.

Even though Teacher Qin Lin was a teacher, being alone with a man made the atmosphere somewhat awkward. Teacher Qin Lin gave a light cough to break the silence.

"There are bathrobes in the closet. You should hurry and change out of your wet clothes. You can throw them in the washing machine, and they'll dry right after. You go wash up first."

Gu Han didn't decline. He pulled open the closet, took out a brand-new white bathrobe, and turned to slip into the bathroom.

Listening to the sound of rushing water from the bathroom, Teacher Qin Lin fanned her cheeks with her hand.

She felt that the room was a bit stuffy.

She walked quickly to the wall and turned the room's internal ventilation to the maximum setting.

Phew.

Teacher Qin Lin let out a long breath, opened the curtains, and looked at the torrential rain outside.

I am the teacher, and he is the student. We just got a room because of an emergency; what is there to be awkward about?

In the bathroom, Gu Han rinsed under the hot water, feeling a bit apologetic.

If he hadn't insisted on coming today to awaken his Divine Kingdom Core, he wouldn't have encountered something as unlucky as a spatial rift, nor would he have dragged his homeroom teacher into being stuck here with him.

He didn't dare let his thoughts wander and made it quick.

He turned off the water, dried himself, wrapped the oversized bathrobe around his body, and tied the sash tightly.

Before leaving, he scanned the bathroom one last time, then walked out with his wet clothes.

Seeing him come out, Teacher Qin Lin didn't say much; she picked up the other bathrobe and walked into the bathroom naturally.

The door clicked shut and locked.

Gu Han stood in front of the washing machine, clutching his wet clothes, and froze for a long time.

When Teacher Qin Lin finished washing, she would definitely need to put her clothes in to wash, and her undergarments would definitely need to go in to dry.

Gu Han shook his head, turned, opened the door, followed the hallway signs, and went to the public laundry room next to the elevator to put his clothes into a coin-operated washing machine.

Ten minutes later, he returned to the room, lifted the quilt of the bed by the window, and sat down, leaning against the headboard.

Closing his eyes, his consciousness instantly entered his Divine Kingdom.

Two hours had passed in the outside world, but nearly a year had passed inside the Divine Kingdom.

The spirit-awakening plants throughout the Divine Kingdom had grown significantly, and the Iron Vine Snake Banyan trees were lush and tall, showing promising growth.

Gu Han's gaze swept over the Orcs' area.

The Orc infant that Vina had given birth to not long ago had already grown a size larger.

It had even started crawling on the ground, chasing after a few Six-Winged Chicken, and looked like it was about to learn how to walk.

This growth rate was frighteningly fast.

On the other side, Dalton hadn't changed much.

He had managed to build a crude stone house using the surrounding stones and mud.

Gu Han didn't waste any more time on the Orcs and turned his consciousness directly to the breeding area.

In the heart of the breeding area, twenty-two newborn White-Feathered Six-Winged Beast were huddled around their mother, dozing on the grass.

Their size had increased significantly compared to before, their feathers were sleek and shiny, and their six wings were fully grown; they should be reaching maturity soon.

Gu Han felt a surge of excitement.

For those Life Class Divine Lords on the market who raised Six-Winged Beast, even with all kinds of growth-promoting feed, it would take at least a hundred days for them to be ready for market.

But he was different.

The improved species already had a growth cycle ten times shorter, and now, combined with the ten-fold time dilation of the Divine Kingdom Core.

One day in the outside world was ten years in the Divine Kingdom.

This meant that the Six-Winged Beast others had to wait over three months to sell, he only needed one day!

A batch every day!

If that purchasing manager could take them all this time, he decided to increase his investment and have a batch of White-Feathered Six-Winged Beast ready for sale every day.

Continuing like this, it would definitely be an incredibly terrifying source of wealth.

Even if the price of the White-Feathered Six-Winged Beast dropped later, he had nothing to fear; he would still make a steady profit by selling large volumes at a low price.

This was the benefit of awakening the Divine Kingdom Core.

This ten-fold time difference was enough to leave ordinary people far behind, so far that they wouldn't even see his taillights.

However, when Gu Han's gaze shifted to the chicken coop on the other side, his brow furrowed slightly.

There were too many Six-Winged Chicken, packed densely together.

The time flow in the Divine Kingdom was too fast, and these ordinary poultry couldn't handle it. Many old and weak Six-Winged Chicken had already died from being unable to compete for food or from natural aging.

During this period, he had stopped promoting the growth of the Six-Winged Chicken.

He couldn't sell them, and he couldn't finish eating them; using them as food consumption when he cultivated the Zerg shouldn't be a problem.

Gu Han calculated in his mind.

"Busy person, working so hard?"

A crisp female voice suddenly rang out in the room.

Gu Han opened his eyes abruptly, his consciousness returning to reality.

Teacher Qin Lin was walking out of the bathroom, drying her wet hair.

She was wearing the same style of white bathrobe, the sash tied at her waist. Having just taken a hot shower, her cheeks were tinged with a slight flush.

Teacher Qin Lin walked to the washing machine, and her movements suddenly stopped.

She turned her head to look at Gu Han.

"Hmm? Where are your clothes?"

"Oh, I took them to the public laundry room outside to wash," Gu Han replied, leaning against the headboard.

Teacher Qin Lin froze for a moment, then chuckled.

"Heh, you are quite the gentleman."

Gu Han scratched his hair, "I've really troubled you today, Teacher, dragging you into not being able to go back either."

"As long as you know."

Teacher Qin Lin threw her clothes into the washing machine, pressed the start button, and then walked over to sit on the other bed.

The machine emitted a low humming sound.

The two sat on their respective beds, separated by an aisle less than half a meter wide.

Both were wearing bathrobes, and neither spoke again.

The atmosphere in the room became somewhat subtle again.

Only the sound of water from the rotating washing machine echoed in the room.

"How is the situation in your Divine Kingdom?" Teacher Qin Lin took the initiative to speak, finding a topic to break the silence.

"It's quite good. The effect of the ten-fold time dilation is exaggerated," Gu Han answered truthfully.

"That's natural. However, you must also be careful. Faster time flow means that resource consumption is also increasing exponentially. You don't have a family backing you right now, so the ecological balance within the Divine Kingdom must be controlled well, otherwise, it will easily collapse," Teacher Qin Lin reminded him dutifully.

Gu Han nodded, "I understand. I am already adjusting the number of species."

Gu Han took the opportunity to throw out the question in his mind; he sat up straight, his expression becoming serious.

"That D-rank Otherworld Battlefield spatial rift reported on the news today, what exactly is it?"
