215: Chapter 215 What exactly is your relationship?

Deep within the lush greenery of the Suburban Forest Park.

The autumn wind muffled the chirping of cicadas, and sunlight filtered through layers of leaves, casting mottled, swaying shadows on the ground.

Julie and Cao Kun had just finalized the entire plan targeting Liu Ziqiang.

The girl's shoulders, which had been tense for a long time, relaxed slightly. In the dead, dark depths of her eyes, there was finally a glimmer of light she could grasp.

The two of them stood up and walked out along the forest path.

Cao Kun walked on the outside, deliberately maintaining a polite and safe distance. He gave instructions in a steady tone regarding the details to watch out for tomorrow, his voice kept low enough so only the two of them could hear.

Julie nodded quietly, occasionally responding in a soft voice. Her expression held less vigilance and more of a sense of reliance.

What they didn't know was this.

Under a thick camphor tree not far away, someone was secretly observing them.

This person was none other than Zhang Haonan.

At this moment, he was crouched behind a dense thicket of bushes, his hands clenched tightly into fists.

His knuckles were turning white from excessive force, and the veins on his temples were throbbing.

His eyes, which were usually gentle, were now bloodshot, and fury was almost erupting from his chest.

From the day they broke up at the café, he had never believed Julie's words about "no longer loving him."

He knew Julie too well.

Gentle, sensitive, sentimental, and soft-hearted.

During the three hundred plus days and nights they were together, her eyes were full of love that couldn't be hidden when she looked at him.

Even when she spoke, she would subconsciously carry a smile. How could she become so cold and heartless overnight?

After the breakup, he hadn't slept all night. His heart felt like it was being pierced by knives, and as he tossed and turned, he felt something was fishy.

Julie's decisiveness was too forced, her tears were too real, and her fear was too obvious. Something he didn't know about must have happened; someone must be forcing her.

He couldn't let go, and he wasn't willing to accept it.

He couldn't just let go like this, and even more so, he couldn't watch the girl he was about to marry vanish into thin air from his life.

For the past two days, he hadn't pestered or disturbed her. He just quietly followed Julie in his car, silently guarding her, wanting to find out the truth behind her sudden breakup.

He had been to her company, the café she frequented, and downstairs from her apartment.

Until this afternoon, when he saw Julie leave the house alone and head toward this remote Forest Park on the outskirts of the city, he immediately followed her silently.

His heart was full of worry, fearing she might have an accident, fearing she might do something drastic, or fearing she might be bullied.

But when he made his way through the woods, what he saw was the scene of Julie standing side-by-side with a strange man, talking in low voices.

The man was tall and straight with a steady temperament. Although Julie's expression was still pale, she was willing to be close to him, willing to listen, and there was even a trace of trust in her eyes that he had never seen before—a trust akin to entrusting one's life.

In Zhang Haonan's eyes, this scene was eyesore to the extreme.

He instantly came to a conclusion.

The reason Julie suddenly brought up the breakup and was so heartless to him wasn't because she didn't love him anymore, but because there was someone else.

It was this man who had stolen her away, this man who had snatched his fiancée, and this man who had ruined his upcoming wedding and happiness!

Jealousy, anger, humiliation, and resentment churned wildly in his chest like scalding lava, searing every nerve.

He clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms, but the pain couldn't suppress the fire in his heart at all.

He stared fixedly at Cao Kun's back, his gaze so fierce it was as if he wanted to tear the other man to pieces.

He didn't dare to rush out.

He was afraid of seeing an even colder look in Julie's eyes, afraid of hearing her admit with her own mouth that she had fallen for someone else.

He could only grit his teeth and hide behind the bushes, watching helplessly as the two finished their conversation and walked out of the Forest Park together.

He watched as Cao Kun gentlemanly opened the car door for Julie, and the car drove away smoothly, heading toward the direction of Julie's apartment.

Zhang Haonan immediately started his own car and followed from a distance, tailing them all the way.

The car entered the city area, and the traffic gradually increased.

Cao Kun safely delivered Julie to the bottom of her apartment building. He only felt relieved to turn and leave after seeing her go upstairs and the lights turn on.

He didn't linger for a second longer, his behavior decent throughout without any impropriety. However, in Zhang Haonan's eyes, all of this became a disguise of "pretending to be innocent after finishing a transaction."

Fury completely clouded Zhang Haonan's reason.

He floored the accelerator to catch up, and on a secondary road with less traffic, he suddenly jerked the steering wheel, pulling directly across the front of Cao Kun's car, forcing it to a stop.

The harsh sound of braking pierced the peace of the street.

Cao Kun's brow furrowed slightly as he slowly stepped on the brake, looking calmly at the car that had suddenly cut him off.

Before he could even speak, the other car's door was slammed open, and a tall, furious young man rushed out.

Without a word, the man swung a fist toward Cao Kun's face!

"I'll kill you, you bastard! How dare you steal my woman!"

The punch was sharp, carrying the weight of his full-blown fury.

Cao Kun's eyes turned cold, and his body reacted subconsciously.

He simply tilted his body slightly, easily avoiding the punch. At the same time, he lifted his wrist slightly, accurately grabbing the other man's arm and applying a bit of force.

"Ah!"

Zhang Haonan let out a muffled groan. His entire arm instantly went numb, his strength was completely neutralized, and his body stumbled forward uncontrollably for a few steps, nearly falling flat on his face.

Unwilling to give up, he pounced again with bloodshot eyes, kicking and punching, his emotions completely out of control.

But how could a pampered young master of a wealthy family like him be a match for Cao Kun?

Cao Kun just used a few casual blocks and counterattacks, controlling his strength perfectly—neither seriously injuring him nor failing to completely subdue him.

In just two moves, Zhang Haonan was pinned against the car body, unable to move. His cheek even had a red mark from being rubbed too hard.

"Let me go! You bastard! Let me go!" Zhang Haonan struggled desperately, cursing loudly.

"I'm telling you, Julie is my fiancée! We're about to get married! Who the hell do you think you are, daring to steal my girl! I'll kill you!"

Steal his girl?

Fiancée?

Cao Kun's movements paused as information synchronized by the system flashed through his mind.

The furious, out-of-control man in front of him was actually Julie's fiancé.

Zhang Haonan.

Cao Kun understood instantly.

This guy had followed them here and had completely misunderstood the situation.

He thought Cao Kun was the third party destroying their relationship and that Julie had proposed the breakup because of him.

Cao Kun let go of his hand, too lazy to get entangled with him. He coldly straightened his cuffs and said, "I'm not interested in your woman. You've got the wrong person. Move."

After saying that, he turned to get into his car.

"You're not allowed to leave!"

Zhang Haonan rushed up with bloodshot eyes to block him, his chest heaving violently.

"You have to make things clear today! What exactly is your relationship with Julie!"

"What were you two sneakily discussing in the Park! Did you bewitch her into breaking up with me!"
