67: Chapter 67 Xiang Zenan's Revenge

Before He Caihua made her move, Cao Kun was still worried about being stuck with her.

But now he had found himself an excuse.

He was doing all this for Xiang Ze Nan's own good.

Only by letting Xiang Ze Nan know that He Caihua had betrayed her and slept with a man could she truly give up hope.

After finding a suitable justification for himself, Cao Kun hesitated no longer.

He picked up He Caihua and headed straight for the bedroom.

Ready for a duet.

He Caihua was delighted.

"You little thing, I thought you were so high and mighty, but you still fell right into my hands, didn't you?"

What He Caihua didn't know was,

the credit for her success in winning over Cao Kun really should go to her uncle.

Otherwise, she truly wouldn't have been able to win him over.

...

Three hours later, the bedroom finally fell silent.

He Caihua lay sprawled on the bed, drenched in sweat, without even the strength to lift a finger.

Light from the streetlamps outside seeped through the gap in the curtains, outlining the rumpled sheets and the scattered clothes on the floor in the dimly lit room.

She gasped for breath, yet an unprecedented sense of satisfaction welled up inside her.

Some things... really do require a man.

Women really aren't up to par in certain aspects.

This thought swirled in her mind, carrying a strange thrill of betrayal.

Of course, He Caihua's thinking wasn't correct.

The reason she felt this way was entirely because she had encountered Cao Kun.

Ordinary men simply couldn't give her such an experience.

She turned her head, looking at Cao Kun lying beside her.

Under the moonlight, the man's solid silhouette was clearly visible, his chest rising and falling slightly with each breath.

Unable to help herself, He Caihua reached out, her fingertips lightly tracing over Cao Kun's abs.

Cao Kun closed his eyes, feeling He Caihua's touch.

He was also quite satisfied.

It had to be said, He Caihua's electrifying hips really had something to them.

...

Early the next morning, Cao Kun woke up at the first light of dawn.

He gently moved aside the arm He Caihua had draped over him, got up, and dressed.

Then he left directly.

He Caihua was still sound asleep, a satisfied smile on the corner of her lips, completely unaware that a storm was about to break.

As he walked out of the Jinhe Residential Complex, the morning air was cool and clean.

Cao Kun took a deep breath, feeling as if he had crawled out of a muddy, filthy quagmire.

After having breakfast, he waited until a little after nine in the morning before sending a message to Xiang Ze Nan.

"Ze Nan, are you free to meet? There's something important I need to tell you."

Not long after the message was sent, Xiang Ze Nan replied: "I'm working at the Bank. I have a two-hour break at noon. How about... meeting then?"

"That works. I'll go to the entrance of your workplace. We can talk in the car then."

At noon, Cao Kun's car was parked right on time at the entrance of the Agricultural Bank.

Xiang Ze Nan hurried out from inside. Seeing Cao Kun's car, she hesitated for a moment before pulling the door open and getting in.

"What's wrong? What did you need to see me about?" she asked, her face still bearing the professional makeup from her Bank job, looking clean and refined.

Cao Kun looked at her face, and a wave of reluctance surged in his heart.

But he knew he had to tell her the truth.

"It's about He Caihua," Cao Kun said bluntly, taking out his phone and opening an audio file. "Listen to this first."

Xiang Ze Nan took the phone, a bad premonition in her heart. Her fingers trembled slightly as she pressed play.

At first, there were some noisy ambient sounds, then He Caihua's voice: "She's so naive, she believes whatever I say. I told her I loved only her, and she actually believed it..."

Xiang Ze Nan's face gradually turned pale.

The recording continued to play: "To be honest, I've been bored with it for a while now. Being with a woman is dull. Men... are more interesting."

"She's just foolish. But that's fine too. When we break up, I can tell her I've realized I still like men. She should be able to accept that, right?"

The recording played bit by bit.

Each word was like a knife, stabbing into Xiang Ze Nan's heart.

Her hands began to tremble violently, and she nearly dropped the phone.

"This isn't real..." she muttered to herself, her voice choked with tears. "This isn't real... you edited this, right? Caihua wouldn't say such things..."

Cao Kun didn't argue. He just silently took back the phone and opened a video.

It was a dimly lit scene from a bedroom. Although the lighting was poor, the outlines of two people were still clearly visible, and their conversation and sounds could be heard.

It was precisely the scene of Cao Kun and He Caihua's duet in the bedroom.

Xiang Ze Nan closed her eyes after just one glance, tears sliding from the corners of her eyes.

"Turn it off... turn it off!" Her voice was already broken.

Cao Kun turned off the video. The car fell into a deathly silence.

Only the sound of Xiang Ze Nan's suppressed sobs remained.

"Why..." she finally broke down, covering her face with her hands, her shoulders shaking violently. "Why would she do this to me... I loved her so much... I gave her everything..."

Cao Kun didn't know what to say. He could only hand her a pack of tissues.

Xiang Ze Nan didn't take it. Instead, she cried even harder.

She remembered everything she had done for He Caihua over the years.

Saving up to buy her gifts, staying up all night to take care of her when she was sick, defying her parents for her sake...

So, in He Caihua's eyes, all of that was just "foolish."

"She told me she loved me just yesterday..." Xiang Ze Nan looked up, her vision blurred by tears as she stared at Cao Kun. "We even had a meal together yesterday, and she served me food... How could this happen?"

Cao Kun sighed. "Some people are just like that, putting on one face in front of you and another behind your back."

"But why..." The look in Xiang Ze Nan's eyes gradually shifted from pain to anger. "Where did I ever fail her? Why would she deceive me like this?"

Cao Kun couldn't answer that question.

He could only sit quietly, waiting for Xiang Ze Nan's emotions to settle.

But Xiang Ze Nan didn't calm down.

On the contrary, her emotions grew more and more agitated.

Amidst her crying, she suddenly remembered something and looked up sharply.

"So last night... you also..." She looked at Cao Kun, her expression complex.

Cao Kun didn't deny it. "I needed evidence. And... I wanted you to see her true colors."

Xiang Ze Nan fell silent.

She looked at Cao Kun, at this man who had helped her twice. The first time, he pretended to be a bizarre boyfriend to help her escape the pressure to marry. The second time, he risked exposing the truth to help her see her lover's true nature.

If not for Cao Kun, how much longer might she have been deceived by He Caihua? A year? Two years? Or a lifetime?

An intense feeling of gratitude and dependence welled up in her heart, mixed with the pain and anger of betrayal.

These emotions churned within her, leading her to an action she hadn't even expected from herself.

"She can find a man..." Xiang Ze Nan murmured to herself, her voice carrying a sense of resolve. "Then so can I."

Before Cao Kun could react, Xiang Ze Nan suddenly lunged forward, cupped his face in her hands, and kissed him fiercely.

The kiss carried the saltiness of tears and the sweetness of lipstick, but it was mostly about release and revenge.

Xiang Ze Nan kissed with force, almost biting, as if trying to vent all her grievances and anger.

Cao Kun was completely stunned.

Wait... what is this situation?

How did I suddenly become a part of your play?
