58: Chapter 58 This girl is so beautiful!

While those people were still gossiping, Cao Kun had already driven home.

As he parked the car on the concrete ground in front of his house, his mother, Plum Blossom, was pouring out a basin of water.

Seeing her son step out of the car, the basin in her hand fell to the ground with a "clatter."

"Xiao Kun? You... you're back? This car is..."

"Mom, I'm back." Cao Kun greeted his mother, then opened the trunk and began moving things out.

His father, Cao Chunlei, came out of the house upon hearing the noise, followed by his younger brother Cao Yang and younger sister Cao Ying.

The three of them were stunned when they saw Cao Kun and the trunk full of high-end gifts.

"Bro, you..." Cao Yang's eyes widened.

"Let's talk inside." Cao Kun picked up two cases of Maozi.

In the main hall, gifts were piled all over the floor.

Cao Kun took out the gifts for his family one by one.

A folding phone for his father, a gold necklace for his mother, and new phones for his younger brother and sister.

Plum Blossom held the gold necklace, her hands trembling. "How much did this cost? Xiao Kun, tell Mom honestly, are you doing something illegal?"

Cao Chunlei also became serious. "Son, although our family is poor, we can't take dirty money!"

"Dad, Mom, what are you thinking?" Cao Kun didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "I've been doing business lately and had some good luck, so I made a lot of money. This is all earned legitimately."

"Furthermore, I even bought a house in Zhongzhou City."

"Bro, you're amazing! As expected of someone who graduated from a prestigious university." Cao Yang excitedly patted Cao Kun's shoulder.

Cao Ying held her new phone, unable to put it down, but she didn't forget to ask, "Bro, you really didn't do anything dangerous, right?"

"Don't worry, it's all legal," Cao Kun said seriously. "I just realized that I used to be too honest to make money. Now I've wised up and know how to earn it."

Plum Blossom was still a bit uneasy. "Save the money you earn so you can get a wife later. Look at you, buying a car and all this, it must have cost a fortune!"

"Mom, I'm really not short of money now." As he spoke, Cao Kun directly transferred one million to his father. "Dad, take this money and rebuild our house. Build a three-story building and renovate it nicely."

"One million?" The whole family was shocked.

Cao Chunlei looked at the transfer notification on his phone, his hand shaking so much he could hardly hold it.

He had never seen so much money in his life.

Seeing so much money, Plum Blossom started crying with excitement. "Good, good... my son has made something of himself..."

"I was worried about this blind date, thinking that since the girl is so beautiful, she might look down on our family for being poor. But now it's fine! We have a car, a house in the city, and we're building a new house... No need to worry about not finding a wife!"

Cao Kun didn't take his mother's words to heart.

His mother had only seen a photo of the other party and claimed she was as beautiful as a celebrity.

How could photos be real nowadays?

If she were really as beautiful as his mother said, why would she need a blind date?

There must be some catch.

However, he didn't say this out loud, fearing his mother would scold him.

That night, Plum Blossom couldn't wait to call the matchmaker. "Aunt Zhang, my Xiao Kun is back! Yes, yes, he's free tomorrow at noon! You decide the place, just let me know once it's set!"

After hanging up, Plum Blossom was beaming with joy. "It's settled. We'll meet tomorrow at noon at the Juxian Restaurant in the county seat. Aunt Zhang said the girl happens to be free tomorrow."

Cao Kun nodded, but he didn't have much expectation.

His main purpose for returning this time was to visit his family and thank his brothers; the blind date was just a formality.

After dinner, Cao Kun gave Li Guanlin a call.

"Brother, I'm back. When do you have time to come out and hang out?"

Li Guanlin was very happy.

"I'm free in the evenings, anytime."

"Alright then, wait for my call. I'll treat you to a good time then."

...

Early the next morning, Cao Kun was awakened by the sound of voices in the courtyard.

He rubbed his eyes and got out of bed. Opening his door, he found seven or eight villagers gathered around his car, clicking their tongues in wonder.

His father, Cao Chunlei, stood by the car, holding the tri-fold phone in one hand and a pack of Huazi in the other, handing out cigarettes with a glowing face.

"Chunlei, your son has really made it!" The village's Old Party Secretary puffed on a cigarette and patted Cao Chunlei's shoulder. "A prestigious university student is indeed different. Only a few years of work and he's driving such a nice car!"

"Not at all, the kid just got lucky." Cao Chunlei was humble in words, but the corners of his mouth were practically stretching to his ears.

"This car is so impressive, it must cost five or six hundred thousand, right?" A middle-aged man bent over, looking through the car window.

Cao Chunlei puffed out his chest. "About that, over six hundred thousand!"

Exclamations of surprise erupted from the surroundings.

Standing at the door and watching this scene, a complex sense of satisfaction welled up in Cao Kun's heart.

This was what he wanted.

To let his parents hold their heads high in the village and to make those who once looked down on his family see them in a new light.

...

After finishing breakfast.

Cao Kun went back to his room to change clothes.

A simple white T-shirt, black casual pants, and a pair of clean sneakers.

Around ten in the morning, Cao Kun said goodbye to his parents and drove to the county seat.

Zuixian Restaurant was a decent establishment in the county seat, with elegant decor and moderate prices, making it a top choice for many blind dates.

Cao Kun parked the car, walked into the restaurant, and found a seat by the window.

He took out his phone and called the girl he was supposed to meet.

"Hello, I'm the one Aunt Zhang introduced for the blind date. I've arrived at Zuixian Restaurant and am sitting at Table 6 by the window."

A clear and pleasant female voice came from the other end of the phone, sounding slightly apologetic. "Hello, I'll be there soon, in about five minutes."

"No problem, no rush." Cao Kun hung up, thinking her voice was quite nice.

Cao Kun ordered a pot of tea and sipped it slowly.

Then he looked outside through the glass.

Five minutes later.

He saw a girl holding a purple parasol, slowly pushing open the door of Zuixian Restaurant.

The girl had long, straight black hair.

She wore a light blue loose dress with a thin white gauze outer layer and clean white sneakers on her feet.

A simple outfit, yet it had an indescribable freshness and elegance.

As the girl approached.

Cao Kun gradually saw her features clearly.

The girl's facial features were incredibly exquisite.

A classic oval face, fair and translucent skin, slender eyebrows, large and bright eyes, a perky nose, and naturally pale pink lips.

She was about 1.65 meters tall, with a well-proportioned figure and a gentle temperament with a hint of scholarly air.

Cao Kun was completely stunned.

"Is this girl too beautiful?"

"This... this couldn't be the one I'm supposed to meet, right?"
