130: You can call yourself Little Green.

Strangely, when Ai Yue pummeled its fellow ordinary Devil Frogs, it didn't show any expression.

Instead, when Ai Yue dug out the right eye of its kind, its tongue shot out in a swift arc, wrapping around the dead Devil Frog and pulling it into its mouth before it could turn into fly ash.

??

It even eats its own kind?

Ai Yue's eyes narrowed slightly; creatures that ate their own kind were generally quite ferocious.

Her hand moved slightly; should she eliminate it?

"Ribbit!"

The emerald-green Devil Frog blinked its large, adorable eyes and tilted its big head, looking at Ai Yue.

"Yo, beautiful, where did you find such a specimen? This is also a man-eating Devil Frog, isn't it?"

Two figures approached from afar, quickly arriving before Ai Yue.

"I'm not sure!" Ai Yue said.

"Whether it is or not, it's rare to find one alone. Are you going to kill it? If you can't handle it, leave it to us brothers!" one of the refined-looking men said in a coarse voice.

"Whatever!" Ai Yue coldly dropped those words and turned to leave.

She happened to be a bit hesitant; since they wanted to deal with it, she'd let them handle this mysterious Devil Frog.

"Ribbit!"

The Devil Frog wanted to follow Ai Yue but was blocked by the two brothers.

Ai Yue didn't go far, watching from a distance.

Seeing Ai Yue walk away, the Devil Frog's gaze turned fierce, looking at the brothers with murderous intent.

"Oh, it's quite fierce!"

"Hmph, can it be fiercer than us?"

With that, the two brothers charged forward, wielding cold weapons combined with their Superpowers.

The emerald-green Devil Frog dodged left and right, not launching any attacks at them.

Amidst the brothers' powerful assault, the Devil Frog ignored the attacks landing on its body, focusing solely on protecting its right eye.

"Boss, this fellow is too good at dodging. We can't hit its right eye, and hitting its body doesn't do anything!"

"Stop talking and keep attacking! I don't believe we can't kill it!"

A hint of mockery flashed in the Devil Frog's eyes as it deliberately exposed its right eye. Seeing it undefended, the brothers were overjoyed and immediately attacked the eye.

The Devil Frog dodged at just the right moment, and their attack grazed its right eye socket. The Devil Frog let out a cry of pain—this was exactly the effect it wanted.

Seeing the opportunity, it turned and fled. Its movements were incredibly fast, and with one leap, it vanished.

From a distance, Ai Yue noticed that even while being beaten, it didn't turn violent or show any intent to eat living humans.

She felt a bit more at ease.

Since it had run away, it likely wouldn't appear before her again.

Next, Ai Yue didn't want to continue on foot. She took her hummer out of her space and drove off.

Since the roads were mostly destroyed by Ancient Centipedes, she couldn't drive normally. She could only follow a general direction, going wherever the path was passable.

Ai Yue's destination was Cai City, which had the reputation of being the "Home of Jade" before the Apocalypse.

She had always wanted to go to Cai City to collect raw stones, but had been stopped by various natural disasters. Now, it was finally time.

Stopping and starting along the way, she walked through impassable sections and rode an electric scooter through narrow paths where the car couldn't fit. With her tireless travel, she gradually approached Cai City.

Seven days later, just as Ai Yue was about to enter Cai City, "Ribbit."

A familiar sound rang out!

Ai Yue couldn't help but look back. Sure enough, it was that emerald-green Devil Frog. She hadn't expected it to follow her all this way; its sense of smell must be incredibly sharp.

Its watery big eyes looked at Ai Yue, and it occasionally opened its mouth to let out a "ribbit," looking quite pitiful.

Ai Yue sighed helplessly. It seemed it was determined to follow her.

Sigh, let it follow then, as long as it doesn't get in the way.

Ai Yue put away the vehicle and stepped into Cai City.

By now, Cai City was an empty city. The remaining humans had all left to seek refuge in safer places.

Occasionally, an Ancient Centipede would scurry across the street for its life, only for a long tongue to suddenly dart out from behind, snatching the fleeing centipede like lightning before vanishing.

Ai Yue glanced back at the Devil Frog following her. "Little Green, seeing your own kind, don't you want to join them? Following me, who knows when you might lose your life!"

"Ribbit!"

Little Green looked at Ai Yue with eyes full of adoration.

The look made her shiver. What kind of gaze was that? I'm not your mother; there's really no need to look at me like that.

The large emerald-green toad leaped through the empty city, extremely conspicuous.

She and Little Green walked toward the northwest corner of Cai City, where the country's largest raw stone mine was located. On the way to the mine, they didn't encounter a single Ancient Centipede or Devil Frog.

Ai Yue had originally planned to collect a few more right eyes to expand the black fertile land in her space so she could plant some medicinal herbs.

Walking from the east side of the city almost to the west, five whole hours passed without seeing a single Alien Insect.

"Little Green, tell me! Is it because of you? Our luck can't be this good, not encountering anything along the way?" Ai Yue looked at Little Green suspiciously.

Little Green blinked its big eyes and tilted its head, not understanding what Ai Yue meant. "Ribbit."

"You're not that powerful, you're just very green and smarter than those other Devil Frogs. By the way, are you even the same species as them?"

"Ribbit."

"If you are the same species, you even eat the corpses of your own kind—that's quite fierce. Other Devil Frogs don't eat their own kind's corpses."

"Ribbit."

"If you aren't the same species, then you're not a Devil Frog. What on earth are you then?"

"Ribbit, ribbit."

"Could you be the nemesis of the Devil Frogs, here to eliminate these rampaging Alien Insects?" Ai Yue said, letting her imagination run wild.

Little Green blinked its big eyes, its voice dropping a few decibels. "Ribbit."

"That's not right either. I've seen you eat dead Alien Insects, but I haven't seen you catch live Devil Frogs to eat. Sigh, I'm overthinking it."

"Ribbit."

...One person and one frog arrived at the raw stone mine just like that.

Just then, a trace of heat came from Ai Yue's chest.

Something's there!

Looks like there's quite a lot!

It seems I've come to the right place this time.

Leading Little Green, Ai Yue first found the warehouses where the mined raw stones were stored. She found eight warehouses in the entire mining area.

Two of the warehouses stored a small amount of raw stones, while the other six were packed full. Ai Yue didn't have the patience to identify them one by one.

With a wave of her hand, she collected them all into her space, then threw out the waste stones after the space had finished absorbing them.

Ai Yue didn't hide any of this from Little Green.

Seeing the whole process, a "just as I thought" look flashed in Little Green's eyes.

After collecting the raw stones from the warehouses, Ai Yue led Little Green to the mining pit.

The mining area was vast, with about eight pits. At a glance, many abandoned work vehicles were scattered inside.

The entire mining pit looked like a mess.

Ai Yue carefully climbed down to the bottom of the pit.

Little Green, meanwhile, kept watch from above.
