56: With electricity available, water and gas can't be far behind, right?

Da Wang had been hit several times and was bleeding. At this moment, his wild nature was completely triggered. He let out a deafening tiger roar towards the sky, his agile body pouncing directly on the person closest to him, biting through their neck without mercy.

After killing someone, Da Wang shed his cowardice and truly displayed his majesty as a tiger.

Once the leader of this group died, it turned into a one-sided slaughter.

Soon, every single one of the intruders was dead. Da Wang, having seen red and exhausted much of his strength, felt a bit hungry. He set his sights on a warm, bloody corpse, baring his teeth and growling as he prepared to bite into it.

Ai Yue happened to look back and see this scene. Just as she was about to shout to stop him in fright, she saw Da Wang’s large mouth retch before he could bite down, followed by several more dry heaves... Da Wang hurriedly distanced himself from the corpse before the retching sensation stopped.

Ai Yue, who had been standing with her mouth agape in shock, put her heart back in her chest upon seeing this, finding the scene somewhat comical.

But more than that, her heart was filled with an inexpressible sense of gratification—the kind of pride one feels when their cowardly 'dear son' rushes forward to help his mother drive away bad guys, regardless of his own safety.

Da Wang was truly wonderful and provided a great sense of security. However, he couldn't eat human meat while staying with them. Fortunately, he had no interest in it, otherwise Ai Yue would have had a real headache.

Feeling fond of him, she brought Da Wang back into the space to treat his wounds and clean the filth off his body. She rewarded him with two hind legs of lamb and picked up a box lunch for herself.

After eating her fill, Ai Yue left the space alone. Since Da Wang was injured, she left him inside.

She continued to sweep the streets on her little e-scooter. Luckily, she discovered an antique market on the third street, with a large shopping mall at the end of it.

Even after all this time, the antique market surprisingly remained intact without major changes. Most of the jade and antiques were still sitting properly on their display shelves and in their cabinets. Ai Yue was delighted and swept them all into her space.

She also found the private storehouses of various antique shop owners, which contained all sorts of collections—porcelain, jade, calligraphy, paintings, and more. They were covered in a thick layer of dust. Ai Yue didn't pick and choose; she took everything into her space. If these were genuine, she could be considered to be preserving some cultural relics for Chinese civilization. If she encountered more in the future, she would collect them too; who knew when they might come in handy?

One of the private storehouses was built like an Underground Bunker, complete with an automatic ventilation system. Ai Yue marveled in her heart; if one were to hide inside, it would be safe regardless of what happened outside.

After leaving the antique market, she headed straight for the first floor of the mall. There was no need to check the other floors, as there probably wasn't much left.

Sure enough, the gold jewelry she needed on the first floor was all there, though a small portion had been taken, which was negligible.

An hour later, Ai Yue emerged from the mall and found several more gold shops. Just as she was happily searching, she was interrupted once again.

"Is this the little girl who killed Boss Zhu?" A brawny woman, holding a meat cleaver in one hand, pointed at Ai Yue and asked the lackey beside her suspiciously. Behind her stood a large crowd of people.

"Yes, yes, Madam Zhen, it's this woman. She's very formidable and even has a tiger. That tiger is fierce; it can bite a person's neck off in one go."

"Oh? There's a tiger?" Madam Zhen said with pleasant surprise. "I haven't eaten meat in a long time. I'm tired of eating human meat; I want a change of pace."

Madam Zhen scanned the area but didn't see the tiger. She kicked the lackey. "Didn't you say there was a tiger? Where is it?"

The lackey didn't dare to get angry after being kicked. Wincing in pain, he said, "I'm really not lying to you. I really saw it just now."

Madam Zhen didn't want to hear his explanation and waved her hand at the people behind her. Seeing this, the lackey was instantly terrified. "Madam Zhen, have mercy! I really saw it! It's her! It must be her! She must have hidden the tiger!"

The lackey understood what Madam Zhen's hand gesture meant. It meant he had become their food. If he were taken back, he would be slaughtered and butchered like a pig by this vicious fat woman.

The lackey's explanation couldn't change his fate, and he was dragged away anyway.

Ai Yue looked coldly at this woman who acted like a slave owner. She couldn't tell how this woman managed to make so many men obey her; not only that, but it seemed their lives were in her hands.

And these men were as obedient as her slaves. It was quite strange.

Madam Zhen sized Ai Yue up and down, smacking her lips. "Little girl, are you interested in following me? As long as you hand over the tiger, I won't hold it against you for killing so many of my people. I'll even let you live in luxury. How about it?"

"Hmph? Live in luxury? By eating human meat?" Ai Yue replied disdainfully.

"What's wrong with human meat? Human meat is still meat. It's the most delicious thing in the world. Once you have a taste, I guarantee you'll fall in love with it and won't be able to stop. I'll give you one minute to consider." Madam Zhen toyed with the boning knife in her hand, her movements fluid as if it were a part of her body.

Ai Yue looked at her coldly and did not speak further.

"It seems you'd rather do this the hard way. Fine. It's been a long time since I've eaten someone as fair and tender as you. The texture must be excellent."

Hearing that the woman wanted to eat her, the bloodthirsty instinct in Ai Yue's veins began to stir. She tried hard to suppress the bloodlust in her heart and remain clear-headed.

There were too many of them. Although she really didn't want to use firearms, the situation was exceptional. They were going to gang up on her, and she probably couldn't handle it alone. She had no choice but to use them; her life was more important.

At the fat woman's command, just as the crowd was about to rush forward, Ai Yue pulled a submachine gun out of thin air and sprayed the crowd with bullets. Madam Zhen was the first to be hit in the forehead and sent to meet the King of Hell. It was a pity she died before she could even display her skills.

Seeing that she had a gun, the others scattered in a panic. But no matter how fast they were, they couldn't outrun Ai Yue's bullets, and they all fell to the ground.

Since they had seen her secret, Ai Yue didn't want to leave any survivors. She finished each one off with a knife, slitting their throats one by one.

With the largest power in Tong City wiped out by Ai Yue, others didn't dare to provoke her. With no one to cause trouble, Ai Yue quickly finished searching the entire city.

She put all the gold jewelry and jade into the space. As expected, the space changed again. The house in the space became fully renovated, with everything one could need—whatever had been in her home before the Apocalypse was now here.

What made Ai Yue happiest was that the house actually had electricity. She was incredibly surprised, but then she thought, since the space itself existed, there was nothing she couldn't accept.

With electricity in the house, the induction cookers, televisions, and other appliances she had hoarded could finally be put to use. This was a warm home that had everything. Although there was no water or gas yet, now that there was electricity, could gas and water be far behind?
