47: Go, Your Majesty, bite him to death!

As more and more people headed toward the Safety Tower, some heard the sound of a car and hurriedly moved large rocks and tree branches into the middle of the road. They wanted to force any oncoming vehicles to stop so they could rob them.

But what they didn't expect was that to Ai Yue, these were just child's play.

Seeing the rocks and branches in the center of the road, Ai Yue gave a disdainful smile. Without even blinking, she drove the car and plowed straight through them.

She left behind a group of people chasing the car, unwillingly throwing stones in frustration.

After driving for a while, Ai Yue decided to change routes. There were simply too many robbers along this path; there were even people who weren't afraid of death and would stand straight in front of the car to be hit.

She hadn't expected that even in the Apocalypse, people would still play the 'insurance scam' game. Ai Yue showed no mercy to those who were hell-bent on seeking death and sent them flying with her car.

After switching to a more remote road, it was indeed much quieter. Although Ai Yue didn't care how many people she killed, she wasn't particularly willing to use her advantage to let people die miserable deaths under her wheels.

After driving for a bit, Da Wang suddenly let out a low growl. Ai Yue's heart tightened as she looked through the rearview mirror, a cold light flashing in her eyes.

Unexpectedly, that group of people eyeing Da Wang had some skill; they actually had a car and had caught up so quickly. She didn't know how they had safely passed the obstacles set up by the crowds on the road.

The other car was very fast and caught up in a few moments. As it pulled alongside Ai Yue's car, two men leaned out of the windows, raising fire axes and smashing them hard against Ai Yue's car window.

However, the scene of shattering glass they expected didn't happen. The two men smashing the glass were stunned; this was the first time they had encountered such a situation.

Seeing that the glass wouldn't break, the driver steeled himself, accelerated past Ai Yue's car, and performed a drift to block the road in front of her.

Seeing this, Ai Yue stopped the car.

As soon as Ai Yue stopped, a group of people—about eight or nine of them—poured out of the opposite car.

Seeing that their equipment consisted of simple knives, clubs, and axes, a cold arc curled at the corner of Ai Yue's mouth.

That's it?

“Let's go, Da Wang! Big Sister is taking you down to see some blood.”

Da Wang gave a low, obedient growl.

One person and one tiger jumped out of the car.

“Hey little girl, why don't you hurry into your big brother's arms and let us take good care of you?”

“Yeah, yeah, this girl looks really fine. No one fight me for her later; I want to play with her first.”

“Jia Liu'er, keep dreaming! If anyone's going first, it's me.”

...A cold killing intent filled Ai Yue's phoenix eyes. She instantly drew the military knife from her waist. “Da Wang, watch closely how Big Sister sends them to hell. I'll leave one for you to play with.”

After speaking, she rushed toward the group. The men opposite were still joking: “Heh, this girl is so proactive, watch how I take her down for the brothers...” Before he could finish, and before the others could react, Ai Yue's military knife had already plunged into his chest with a twist, killing him instantly.

Ai Yue quickly withdrew the military knife and kicked the corpse, sending it flying toward a man who was raising a machete to strike her.

The others, who had been grinning, seemed to finally react. They flusteredly raised their weapons at Ai Yue and charged at her together.

But these people with their amateur skills were no match for Ai Yue at all.

Her movements were swift and ruthless, taking a life with every strike. Soon, only one man remained.

This man was already scared out of his wits. He collapsed to the ground, watching the blood-stained Ai Yue approach him step by step like a god of death.

He stammered in terror, “Great Heroine, spare my life! Don't kill me! I'm useful! I'll work for you like an ox or a horse! Please don't kill me!”

Ai Yue, her eyes red with bloodlust, stopped her pace. Calming the blood churning in her body, she spoke, “Da Wang, come here.”

Da Wang, who had been standing far to the side, heard Ai Yue's call and trotted over. He nudged Ai Yue; her earlier appearance as a slaughtering deity had terrified him, so he hurried to curry favor.

Ai Yue pointed at the man on the ground and said to Da Wang, “Da Wang, he's yours.”

Da Wang glanced at the man paralyzed with fear on the ground, a hint of disdain showing in his eyes. 'What do you mean he's mine?' He looked up at Ai Yue and let out a low growl, as if saying, 'What are you talking about? I don't want such a filthy thing.'

“Go on, pounce on him and bite him to death.”

“Awoo.”

“Go!”

“Awoo.” Da Wang turned his head and sat on the ground, pretending not to hear.

“Da Wang, you're a tiger! You have to be fierce! When enemies come, you have to charge and bite them to death.”

“Awoo.” Da Wang shook his body and stood up, walking toward the marauder.

Ai Yue... Ai Yue felt that feeling of having a child who doesn't want to improve—anxious and irritated. Who could understand her?

While Ai Yue was trying to persuade Da Wang to finish off the remaining man, the terrified man secretly crawled up from the ground, preparing to slip away.

Seeing that Da Wang wasn't paying any attention to her, the annoyed Ai Yue threw a flying knife into the head of the escaping man, sending him to reunite with his brothers.

Ai Yue retrieved her knife and returned to the car, only to see Da Wang lazily sprawled on the floor, pretending to sleep.

Ai Yue gave a heavy snort of speechlessness at him, but Da Wang just flicked his ears, not caring at all.

Helpless, she continued driving. She planned to go to the neighboring city to scavenge for gold and jade.

After all, in the Apocalypse, no one was interested in gold and jade, so she could take advantage of that.

The rest of the drive was smooth, except that Ai Yue got lost once. Fortunately, she realized it in time and successfully arrived at Yungang City.

The city was silent. Not a single soul could be seen after entering the city limits. The entire city was incredibly desolate; many old buildings had collapsed, and the surfaces of those still standing were pitted and corroded by acid rain—a scene of complete ruin.

Ai Yue felt no sentiment toward any of this; she had seen such scenes too many times and was already accustomed to them.

She didn't have a map of the city, so she could only use the most tedious method of checking street by street. Whenever she saw a large shopping mall, she would enter immediately to investigate.

Sure enough, at this time, no one coveted gold, silver, or jade jewelry. They were discarded on the ground like ordinary stones.

As long as items were still in the counters, Ai Yue would put the entire counter into her space. She didn't snub those thrown on the ground either, digging them out bit by bit before putting them into her space.

By dusk, the light dimmed. Ai Yue had already searched a quarter of the entire city.

She wasn't in a hurry. Returning to the car, she and Da Wang had a delicious meal and then went to rest.

On this day, between killing people and digging gold and jade out of the mud-turned-soil, even her iron-like body felt a bit tired.

After eating and drinking her fill, Ai Yue fell into a deep sleep while hugging Da Wang.

Da Wang, however, remained alert to his surroundings and did not sleep. It wasn't until the middle of the night that Ai Yue suddenly woke up. Seeing the well-behaved Da Wang guarding the perimeter, Ai Yue felt a warmth in her heart. The bit of frustration she had felt during the day because of his lack of drive vanished without a trace.

Ai Yue patted his large head with satisfaction and said, “Alright, good boy. Big Sister will take the second half of the watch. You sleep.”

Da Wang gave a huge yawn and lay down on the floor to sleep with peace of mind.
