75: Chapter 75 The Assembly of the Medical Dispute Squad and the Complaint Letter Headed to the "Dean's Office"

Heavenly River Sword Sect, 'tianhe no. 1' Floating Island.

Despite the unprecedented sense of security brought by the 'panoramic sunroof' composed of Void Behemoths overhead, the air on the second floor of the Scripture Pavilion seemed to have all sound sucked out of it, becoming terrifyingly quiet.

"Am... Amputation?"

The union-benefit thermos in Director Haotian's (former Immortal Emperor) hand fell to the ground with a 'clatter.' Hot water mixed with goji berries spilled everywhere, but he was completely oblivious.

This being, who once ruled over the Three Realms, had a hint of a tremble in his voice that even he didn't notice.

"Are you saying those... 'things' outside are going to slice the entire Southern Desolate from the Ancient God's body... while it's still alive?"

"In their terminology, it's the excision of 'cancerous necrotic tissue.'"

Li Mo sat at the head of the long table, the 'ancient god medical record book' spread out before him. His fingertips tapped rhythmically and lightly on the 'brain' diagram on the page.

"In the eyes of those 'surgeons,' we—who build illegal structures inside the Ancient God, give it intravenous injections, and even pour cement into its blood vessels—are just a bunch of incurable viruses."

"Since the internal immune System (Scavengers) is useless, the attending physician has no choice but to take the stage personally and use the knife."

"Then what do we do?!" Lei Wanjun (Deputy Minister of Security) was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, his large hands cracking as he rubbed them together. "We have some assets now, but arm-wrestling with a 'doctor' of that dimension is like throwing eggs at a rock! How about... we just fly the floating island and run for it?"

"We can't run."

Li Mo shook his head, and the tapping of his fingertips stopped.

"Once the scalpel falls, it cuts off the Karma, rules, and all concepts of existence in this region."

"Unless we can jump out of this book... cough, jump out of this world, no matter where we run, the end will only be as part of the 'necrotic tissue.'"

"So, the only way is to not let them use the knife."

Li Mo looked up at everyone.

That familiar curve of his mouth, exclusive to trouble-makers, rose once again, causing a mysterious chill to crawl up Director Haotian's back.

"This is just like a typical medical dispute."

"The attending physician insists on amputation, but we, the 'diseased tissue,' feel we can still be resuscitated."

"Everyone, at a time like this, what should be done?"

In the meeting room, the higher-ups looked at each other.

Kong Mengchang (Department of Education) adjusted his glasses and spoke tentatively, "Follow the process and submit a written application? Request... conservative treatment?"

"That's the civilized way."

Li Mo waved his hand, his gaze accurately locking onto the former Immortal Emperor, current gold-medal real estate consultant and Customer Service Director.

"Director Hao, you've handled so many complaints in the customer service center; you should be most familiar with the standard operating procedure."

Director Haotian was stunned at first, then it was as if his Ren and Du Meridians had been cleared. A long-buried imperial dominance... no, a ruffian's Aura, instantly rushed to the top of his head.

He slapped his thigh and blurted out:

"Make a scene!"

"Find the Dean! We must find the Dean and make a scene! Hang banners! Block his office door! Not only must we complain that the attending physician is immoral, incompetent, and reckless with the knife, but we also need to report him for taking bribes, question the hospital's non-transparent billing standards, and say the food is expensive and tastes terrible!"

"Exactly right."

Li Mo snapped his fingers appreciatively.

"So, the core principle of our second phase plan—[Medical Dispute]—is just one word: Scene."

"We are going to the Ancient God's 'cerebral cortex,' which is what this world calls the 'Heavenly Dao Core Area.'"

"That place is the 'Dean's Office' of this Universal Hospital."

"We are going there... to petition."

...

Half an hour later.

A bizarre team, the likes of which had never been seen since the creation of the Thirty-Third Heaven in the Immortal Realm, assembled at the entrance of the Scripture Pavilion.

[Team Name]: Tianhe Specially Appointed Medical Disturbance Brigade (aka Southern Desolate Holdout Tenant Protection Office).

[Captain]: Director Haotian.

[Equipment]: A modified megaphone capable of roaring with a Dragon's cry; a suit that, though old, was specifically washed until pale with frayed cuffs (for playing the victim); and that innate 'Emperor-level' Aura of throwing a tantrum that seeped into the Soul.

[Secretary]: Kong Mengchang.

[Equipment]: A giant white banner that could blot out the sun when unfurled, with a line of blood-red characters—'Quack doctors harm people! Cutting off our livelihood! Give us back our hard-earned homes!'; and a Judge's Pen capable of temporarily writing Karmic decrees.

[Security]: Lei Wanjun and twelve sanitation workers (former Void Scavengers).

[Equipment]: Twelve heavy-bass floor-shaking speakers capable of playing 'Tante' and 'Most Dazzling Folk Style' simultaneously; riot shields; and various Magic Treasures capable of creating loud noises in the Void Realm.

[Transportation]: Void Behemoth (portable version shrunk to the size of a whale).

"Remember, we aren't going there to fight this time."

Li Mo stood before the team, giving the final pre-battle mobilization with a serious expression.

"We are civilized people who listen to reason."

"But if the 'Dean' (Heavenly Dao) won't listen to reason and insists on talking 'rules' with us..."

Li Mo slowly pulled a disc flickering with black data streams from his robe and handed it to Haotian.

"Then please let the 'Dean' watch a movie."

"What is this?" Director Haotian took it curiously; the disc felt ice-cold in his hand.

"This is a segment of primitive logic code I extracted from a book on the Abyss side. I've named it—[Logic Virus: Ten Thousand Whys]."

Li Mo pushed his glasses, a cold glint flashing across the lenses.

"As long as it dares to say the word 'cut,' you ask it 'why.' Why us? Why now? Why use a knife instead of a spoon? Why are you so square? Keep asking until its System crashes and its logic freezes."

"Depart!"

...

The Ancient God's 'Central Nerve' passage was located directly above the Heavenly Gate (former Demon God's butt).

That was once a forbidden path leading above the Thirty-Third Heaven, one that only successive Immortal Emperors were qualified to tread.

But now, for the Medical Disturbance Brigade with their 'local residency' Void Behemoth, this path was like returning to their own backyard.

"Woo—"

The behemoth let out a low whale-like cry, carrying everyone as it nimbly wove through countless giant fiber-optic cables (nerve bundles) composed of golden runes.

Occasionally, giant golden lightning (nerve pulses) would flash past. That energy, enough to instantly evaporate a Grand Unity Golden Immortal, became as gentle as a stream when it approached the behemoth.

"Careful! High-energy reaction detected ahead! It's a firewall!"

Sima Hang, in charge of navigation, shouted.

Before his voice faded, a row of ten-thousand-foot-tall golden-armored giants condensed out of thin air in the void ahead. They had no physical bodies, being entirely composed of Heavenly Dao rules, holding lightning greataxes with cold and rigid Auras.

[Warning: Core restricted area. Illegal data packets are prohibited from entering.]

[Executing Protocol: Format and delete.]

The golden-armored giants raised their greataxes in unison, locking onto this group of 'abnormal data.'

"Don't panic! Watch me!"

Director Haotian stepped forward, standing proudly atop the behemoth's head. He skillfully straightened his tie, cleared his throat, and raised the megaphone.

"Delete what?! Who gave you the authority?! Show me your law enforcement credentials! Have you turned on your body cameras?!"

"Me! Former Immortal Emperor! I have lifetime VIP access here! Although it's expired, did you send a renewal notice? No, you didn't!"

"According to Supplementary Clause 975 of the 'Heavenly Dao Service and User Rights Protection Regulations': 'If Party A fails to fulfill the obligation of notification in writing before the service expires, it shall be deemed that both parties agree to automatically renew the contract under the original conditions'!"

"You stopping me now is a serious violation of operational procedures! I'm going to complain! I'm going to the Heavenly Dao Supervision Committee to complain about you! I'll have your direct supervisors fired!"

Director Haotian's smooth combination of shouts was powerful and logically rigorous.

The runes atop the heads of those golden-armored giants (firewall programs), who only knew how to execute rigid procedures, began to flash frantically. Clearly, their CPUs were overloaded.

[Logic Conflict: Detected 'Immortal Emperor' permission ID, but permissions have expired...]

[Retrieving 'Regulations' Clause 975... No such clause in database...]

[Requesting manual intervention from superior... Request rejected... Insufficient System resources...]

Taking advantage of the precious moment when the golden-armored giants collectively crashed.

"Now! Charge through!"

The Void Behemoth understood. With a sudden flick of its tail, it performed a dragon-tail swing, carrying the entire team 'whoosh' right through the gaps between the giants' legs.

"Beautiful!" Kong Mengchang praised sincerely. "Director Hao, your words are more effective than my ten thousand volumes of scriptures!"

"Of course." Director Haotian brushed his hair back proudly, shouldering the megaphone. "After taking complaint calls for nine thousand years in the customer service center, this director has long since mastered the invincible tongue of turning black into white and making words reality."

...

After crossing the firewall, the scene ahead opened up suddenly.

It was a boundless space of pure white.

In the very center of the space floated a colossal object whose precision and greatness were beyond words—a sphere composed of billions of golden gears, runic light bands, and crystal prisms.

It was slowly rotating.

With every rotation, it pulled the sun, moon, stars, four seasons, and Spiritual Qi tides of the entire Cultivation World.

This was the Ancient God's 'brain'.

The [Heavenly Dao Core] that all living beings revered.

Only, right now, the state of this 'Supreme Being' looked very poor.

Its surface was covered with large patches of black rust (virus infection). Many gears were jammed, and several black tentacles from the Abyss, covered in eyeballs, were tightly coiled around its body.

Below the core, a small figure gathered from light was floating there.

It held a tiny light shovel and was working hard to scrape away those black spots, but its efficiency was appallingly low. With every scrape, a few light specks (energy leakage) fell from its own body. It looked incredibly pitiful.

"That... is the Incarnation of the Heavenly Dao's consciousness?" Lei Wanjun lowered his voice. "Why does it look... like an intern who's been badly bullied?"

"Because it's terminally ill and has no one to look after it."

Li Mo's voice sounded in everyone's ears through a special communicator.

"Alright, everyone, the stage is set."

"Raise the banners! Set up the speakers!"

"Let our 'Dean' see the patients' demands!"

"Swish—"

The hundred-zhang-long giant white cloth unfurled boldly in the sacred pure white space, the blood-red characters on it shocking to the eye:

[Resolutely oppose barbaric amputation! We want to survive! We want to eat! We want spicy strips!]

At the same time, the twelve floor-shaking speakers were turned to full power, and the explosive music echoed through the entire Heavenly Dao hub:

"The vast horizon is my love..."

The light-and-shadow figure that was laboriously shoveling viruses gave a violent shudder at this sudden display, almost dropping the light shovel in its hand.

It turned around blankly.

It had a face without features, but anyone could read an extreme sense of 'dumbfoundedness' from the violently flickering halo.

It looked at the banner, listened to the hypnotic music, and then looked at Director Haotian standing on the behemoth's head with an expression that said, 'Don't even think about clocking out today until you give me an explanation.'

[Zzt... Detecting... high-intensity, high-density, highly complex... emotional data stream.]

A youthful, timid, and even clearly tearful thought sounded in everyone's minds.

[What... are... are you here for?]

Everyone, including Director Haotian who was ready to make a huge scene, was stunned.

This was the... all-ruling, supreme Heavenly Dao?

Why did it sound like an elementary school student driven mad by math problems and about to cry?

"Opportunity."

Li Mo's calm voice came through, suppressing a hint of excitement at a successful scheme.

"Director Hao, pause the verbal abuse."

"Switch to Plan B."

"What's Plan B?" Director Haotian was taken aback.

"Plan B code name—[Kind Older Sister]."

Li Mo pushed his non-existent glasses.

"Since the 'Dean' is a child with no one to love him, using forceful means will only be counterproductive."

"We need to use... candy."

"Tell it that as long as it's willing to listen to us, not only will it not have to undergo that lethal surgery (amputation), but we can also help it with its homework (clearing the viruses)."

"And..."

"We'll also give it a full set of the latest, limited-edition collector's blind boxes."
