163: Chapter 163 Genius Ranking, Martial Arts Golden Core Classification

Shen Qingqiu said indifferently, "You two are tied for tenth place with 250 credits. This is your credit quota for this month."

"It can be used to exchange for Cultivation resources, enter the Nine-Story Cultivation Tower, rent the Combat Technique Analysis Hall, and so on."

"The specific exchange rules are all on the campus terminal."

Although Shen Qingqiu was speaking to Qiao Shiyu and the other student, the content was actually meant for Lin Yun to hear.

Everyone here except for him already knew the specific specifications.

Shen Qingqiu lightly swiped her finger to switch to the Genius Ranking on the right.

"Look here."

On the Genius Ranking, there were also densely packed names, but the number was much smaller, with only one hundred.

Lin Yun's gaze swept from top to bottom—

First place, 【Zhao Muyi — 1362 credits】

Second place, 【Jun Moxiao — 1350 credits】

Third place, 【Qin Wushuang — 1340 credits】

...He scanned all the way down until the forty-eighth place, where he finally saw his own name:

【Lin Yun — 1005 credits】

"Forty-eighth place on the Genius Ranking?" Lin Yun raised an eyebrow slightly.

Shen Qingqiu nodded, "That's right. You are the first freshman in the history of Tianshui Martial Arts University to make it onto the Genius Ranking on their first challenge."

Teacher Zhou Qi stroked his beard and sighed with emotion, "I have been teaching for five hundred years and have never seen such a sight."

"In the past, let alone making it into the Genius Ranking, it was difficult for freshmen to even break through 300 credits."

"But you, you charged straight to forty-eighth place."

Luo Xiangdong said with a chuckle, "Unprecedented since the founding of the school, truly groundbreaking!"

Lin Yun silently digested this information in his heart.

There were a total of one hundred spots on the Genius Ranking, and even the last place had over eight hundred points.

With 1005 points, he was only ranked forty-eighth.

What kind of monsters were the top forty-seven?

Thinking of this, Lin Yun couldn't help but ask, "Instructor, I am already at Second-Stage Perfection, have two Yellow-grade peak Combat Techniques at Perfection, and can occasionally enter the 'Micro-Perception' state... why am I only ranked forty-eighth?"

"Could those people ahead be at the third stage?"

Shen Qingqiu shook her head, "In a Martial Arts University, you graduate once you reach the third stage. It is impossible for students on the Genius Ranking to be at the third stage."

"Then they..." Lin Yun was even more confused.

Shen Qingqiu glanced at him and explained, "Your understanding of the two towers is not deep enough."

She raised her hand to tap on the light screen, bringing up the detailed rules for the two towers.

"For the Combat Power Tower and the Trial Tower, apart from the fifth floor of the Combat Power Tower which is fixed with Ming Deer, the other floors change every month."

"The Combat Power Tower changes a batch of Yao Beasts every month; their types, numbers, and coordination methods are all different. The Combat Technique combinations used by the light-shadow Puppets in the Trial Tower also change every month."

"This causes the ranking list to change every month. Some people might have a high ranking this month but could drop next month. Some people might underperform this month but could charge up next month."

Teacher Zhou Qi added, "For example, the Ming Deer on the fifth floor of the Combat Power Tower is a fixed Yao Beast and will not change. But the Yao Beasts on other floors are different every month."

"In some months, the Yao Beasts counter your Combat Technique, so your score will be low; in other months, you counter the Yao Beasts, so your score will be high."

Lin Yun suddenly understood.

No wonder.

The Yao Beasts and light-shadow Puppets he encountered this time just happened to be ones he could handle.

If it were a different batch, he might not have been able to get this score.

However... that's not right either!

Teacher Ding Wu laughed from the side, "But having said that, Student Lin Yun, do you know what it means for you to make it onto the Genius Ranking this time?"

Lin Yun: "Please enlighten me, Teacher Ding Wu."

Teacher Ding Wu said seriously, "As long as you have made it onto the Genius Ranking once, even if only once, you can apply to the school to learn a Secret Technique."

"A Secret Technique?" Lin Yun's heart stirred.

"Yes," Teacher Ding Wu nodded. "This Secret Technique can condense a 'False Core' inside your body. With a False Core, you can Cultivate Earth-grade Cultivation Techniques in advance while at the second stage!"

Lin Yun's eyes lit up. Cultivate Earth-grade Cultivation Techniques in advance?!

He had personally experienced the terror of Earth-grade Combat Techniques on the sixth floor. Even if it was just a crippled version, it had beaten him until he had no power to fight back.

If he could Cultivate Earth-grade Cultivation Techniques in advance, his strength would definitely skyrocket!

Luo Xiangdong added, "That's not the most important thing. The most important thing is that this 'False Core' can increase the grade of your Golden Core when you Breakthrough to the third stage and condense your Martial Dao Golden Core in the future."

"Martial Dao Golden Core... also has grades?" Lin Yun was stunned. It was his first time hearing this concept.

Shen Qingqiu saw that he didn't even know such basic knowledge and said, "Naturally, there are grades. The Martial Dao Golden Core is divided into nine grades from low to high."

"Ordinary students who Breakthrough to the third stage without being tempered by a Secret Technique can only condense a first-grade Golden Core."

"A first-grade Golden Core?" Qiao Shiyu chimed in from the side, "Is that very weak?"

Shen Qingqiu glanced at her, "The combat power of a first-grade Golden Core and a third-grade Golden Core at the same stage differs by more than double."

"Compared to a sixth-grade Golden Core, it is a world of difference."

"The higher the Golden Core grade, the more solid the Foundation, and the greater the possibility of breaking through to the fourth stage in the future."

Lin Yun was shocked in his heart. So that was it! No wonder the Genius Ranking was so important; it was related to the Foundation of his future Dao!

Shen Qingqiu continued, "The Secret Technique that ordinary students can obtain after making it onto the Genius Ranking is called 'False Core Tempering True Art'."

"This Secret Technique has three levels. After Cultivating it to the highest level, you can condense a third-grade Martial Dao Golden Core when breaking through to the third stage."

"Third-grade?" Lin Yun was thoughtful.

Teacher Zhou Qi interjected, "If it is a student with excellent talent who has hope of challenging the top ten of the Genius Ranking, the school will reward them with another Secret Technique — 'Void Embryo Core Planting Art'."

"This Secret Technique has six levels. Cultivating it to the highest level allows you to condense a sixth-grade Martial Dao Golden Core."

Qiao Shiyu immediately jumped up excitedly, "Then Auntie! Since Brother Lin Yun is so amazing, he must be rewarded with the 'Void Embryo Core Planting Art'!"

Luo Xiangdong said with a chuckle, "The Qiao girl is right. Student Lin Yun made it into the top fifty of the Genius Ranking on his first challenge, and he is a freshman. With this talent, it wouldn't make sense not to give him the 'Void Embryo Core Planting Art'."

Teacher Zhou Qi and Teacher Ding Wu also nodded in agreement.

Lin Yun, however, frowned and asked a key question, "Can it only reach the sixth grade? Are there no ninth-grade ones?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the office went quiet for a moment. The four teachers looked at each other and then laughed at the same time.

Luo Xiangdong patted Lin Yun on the shoulder and laughed, "Good kid, you have a big appetite! A ninth-grade Golden Core? That is a legendary existence!"

Shen Qingqiu shook her head, "In the entire Minglu Planet, the highest one can reach is the sixth grade. It is the same for other Martial Arts Universities. If you want a higher-level Secret Technique, you have to go to the Imperial Star."

"Imperial Star..." Lin Yun repeated mutely.

Teacher Zhou Qi comforted him, "Student Lin Yun, don't think that the sixth grade is low."

"To tell you the truth, Cultivating the 'Void Embryo Core Planting Art' is as difficult as ascending to heaven."

"Many students in the top ten of the Genius Ranking only reach the third or fourth level by the time they graduate, and finally condense a third or fourth-grade Golden Core."
