351: Chapter 351 Ruozao, you understand me

Ruozao's gaze fell upon Lin Yun.

That layer of transparent Void Barrier was still flickering slightly, space folding layer upon layer, like countless transparent mirrors stacked together.

The aura it emitted was thick, stable, and profound.

Five days.

From receiving the Cultivation Technique until now, five days.

Entry.

In Ruozao's heart, shock surged.

How on earth did this person manage to do this?

She was so engrossed in watching that she didn't even notice Lu Shan walking up to her.

"Ruozao."

A crisp call rang out beside her ear.

The voice wasn't loud, carrying a hint of caution and a trace of trepidation.

Ruozao's heart tightened suddenly, and her body stiffened abruptly.

She turned her head and saw Lu Shan standing right beside her.

In that instant, the images she had previously suppressed surged back into her mind.

Three days and four nights.

Nickname.

Those postures, those movements, those sounds.

Ruozao's cheeks burned, and she stuttered in response:

"Nick-, Nickname..."

Panic, shame, and feeling at a loss.

She took a half-step back, wanting to put some distance between them.

Lu Shan had originally been harboring a deep sense of shame because her best friend had watched the whole thing over the past few days.

But seeing Ruozao's flustered appearance, most of the embarrassment in her heart dissipated.

Lu Shan mustered her courage, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke in her defense:

"Ruozao, you understand me; I'm not usually like that..."

Halfway through the sentence, Lu Shan blushed herself, wishing she could raise her hand to cover her mouth.

She felt annoyed internally:

Heavens!

What on earth am I saying?

What does it mean that I'm not usually like that?

Doesn't that just prove even more that it was like that that night?

Besides, Ruozao had seen it with her own eyes, heard it with her own ears, and witnessed every single moment of those three days and four nights.

What was the point of saying "I'm not usually like that" now?

Lu Shan's sense of shame surged up like a tidal wave, drowning her.

She wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Ruozao was even more panicked and ashamed than her.

Hearing Lu Shan say "I'm not usually like that," those images became even clearer in her mind.

Not like that?

Then what is it like?

She recalled how Nickname looked in Lin Yun's arms, recalled Nickname's voice, and recalled Nickname's movements.

Those images formed a stark contrast with the blushing Nickname before her.

Ruozao hurriedly reached out and covered Lu Shan's mouth directly.

"Don't... don't say it."

Her voice carried a hint of a sob, and within that sob, a hint of pleading.

She had originally been shocked by Lin Yun's Void Barrier and had temporarily forgotten those images.

Now that Lu Shan mentioned it, those images surged back out.

It felt like being back at the scene.

The sounds were in her ears, the images were before her eyes, and the scent was at the tip of her nose.

Ruozao's body was trembling, and her whole body was flushed with heat.

An unprecedented awkwardness spread between the two.

Ruozao hung her head.

Her gaze was fixed firmly on the bluestone ground beneath her feet.

She didn't dare to look up to meet her friend's gaze, her mouth repeatedly whispering:

"Nickname, don't say it... don't say..."

Lu Shan had her mouth covered; feeling ashamed in her heart, she couldn't help but size up the person before her.

This was the first time she had seen the usually poised and generous Ruozao reveal such a shy and flustered appearance.

Her brows and eyes were flushed, her timid appearance was both delicate and beautiful, and exceptionally interesting.

The faint, refreshing scent of Ruozao lingered at the tip of her nose; the palm covering her lips was soft and delicate, the sensation exceptionally comfortable.

Ruozao's little hand was so soft, so fragrant.

Lu Shan didn't know what had come over her.

Driven by an impulse, she stuck out her tongue and licked Ruozao's palm.

"Ah!"

Ruozao exclaimed as if scalded, recoiling half a step, shocked and ashamed.

She retracted her hand, hiding it behind her back.

Her eyes were wide, staring at Lu Shan, her face full of disbelief.

Lu Shan was also stunned.

What had happened to her?

How... how could she do such a thing?

She looked at Ruozao's shy and shocked appearance, and a voice in her heart said:

It's over, completely over.

Ruozao must think she is a pervert.

Watching those three days and four nights wasn't enough, and now she had to...

Since things had reached this point, Lu Shan simply gave up and stopped being coy.

Anyway, it was already like this, could it get any worse?

She looked at Ruozao, her tone suddenly becoming righteous.

"Now that it's come to this, I won't hide it anymore; Ruozao, I am that kind of person."

"Everything you saw was true. That is me."

"Not usually like that? No, I'm usually like that too. I just haven't had the opportunity to show it."

Ruozao looked at her friend, her little mouth opening in surprise subconsciously.

Her large, wet eyes were wide, completely at a loss for how to respond.

Lu Shan said it all in one breath:

"I am the kind of person who will act coquettishly in my husband's arms, who will make those sounds, and who will do those actions."

"Everything you saw was true. That is me. The real me."

"Whether it's the dignified side or the uncomposed appearance, it is all true."

Ruozao was both ashamed and bewildered.

She wanted to run, but Lu Shan stepped forward and grabbed her shoulders.

The grip was strong; she couldn't break free.

Lu Shan looked at her, her tone shifting from righteous to pitiful.

"Zaozao, can someone like me still continue to be good friends with you?"

Ruozao panicked instantly.

Nickname was her closest best friend, whom she had accompanied for hundreds of years since childhood; this bond was already carved into her heart.

She had never imagined that one day she would lose Nickname.

Now, Nickname was asking her if they could still continue to be good friends.

Ruozao was anxious and hurriedly spoke:

"No matter what kind of person Nickname is, you are my best, best, best friend!"

Her voice was loud, urgent, and sincere.

"Really? Don't lie to me," Lu Shan pressed.

"Rea...lly. I'm not lying to you," Ruozao spoke, still stuttering obviously.

Seeing this, Lu Shan felt aggrieved in her heart, and her eyes instantly reddened.

Zaozao answered so hesitantly and kept stuttering; she must mind it in her heart.

Could a bond of hundreds of years be severed because of what happened in these few days?

At the thought of drifting apart from her best friend in the future, her heart felt sour and blocked, unbearably painful.

"Zaozao, you can't be like this. We are best friends."

Tears fell, sliding down her cheeks and dripping onto the ground.

"It's been hundreds of years; we've been together since we were little, playing together, growing up together, Cultivating together, being happy together, and being sad together."

"I thought that no matter what I became, you would still acknowledge me as a friend."

"But you stuttered. You were hesitating. You were afraid."

"Do you think that because I've become like that, I'm no longer worthy of being your friend?"

"Do you think I'm... disgusting?"

The more Lu Shan spoke, the sadder she became, her tears flowing uncontrollably.

She recalled the years she had spent with Ruozao.

Those memories flashed through her mind like a movie.

If she lost Ruozao as a friend, her life would lose more than half of its color.
