424: Chapter 424 Finding Jasmine

A moment later, the door was opened from the inside.

Moli was wearing a loose bathrobe, her hair was somewhat disheveled, and her small face bore a clear look of displeasure.

"What are you two doing in the middle of the night instead of sleeping, running over to knock on my door?"

Moli deliberately yawned, her eyelids half-drooping.

"I was having a great time killing in the game, and you interrupted me."

King Feiyun did not exchange polite pleasantries with her, directly stepping across the threshold:

"Let's go inside and talk."

Moli curled her lips, turned sideways to let the two enter, and casually closed the door.

She shuffled in her slippers back to the front of the soft couch.

Sitting down cross-legged, crossing her arms, she raised her small face to look at the two:

"Speak, what is it?"

King Feiyun did not beat around the bush either, sitting down on the chair opposite her and asking straight to the point:

"Before King Xuanyin left, did she say anything unusual to you?"

Moli had originally carried a bit of impatience from being disturbed, but upon hearing these words, her eyelids lifted slightly.

"Unusual words?"

"For example, her attitude towards Lin Yun." Ziyi added from the side.

"Did she ever mention to you why she suddenly wanted to leave?"

Moli fell silent for a moment.

Her large, watery eyes swept back and forth across King Feiyun and Ziyi's faces, as if judging something.

Then she slowly straightened her body, put down her crossed legs, and stepped her two small feet on the edge of the soft couch.

The slight displeasure from being disturbed originally vanished, replaced by a keen scrutiny.

"Why are you suddenly asking about this?"

"Answer us first." King Feiyun said in a steady tone, "Did she say anything?"

Moli looked at her, then looked at Ziyi, and finally let out a "tsk".

"She did."

She jumped down from the soft couch and walked barefoot to the edge of the table.

Pouring herself a cup of cold tea, she gulped down a large mouthful.

Then turning around, she repeated the words that King Xuanyin had spoken to her in the Virtual World.

Word for word.

"She told me, 'You can go contact Lin Yun more often, try staying with him, talking to him, looking into his eyes, and then you will understand.'"

"She also said she was afraid I would sink too deeply, and told me to exercise restraint myself."

Moli put down her teacup, placing her hands on her hips.

"I didn't take it too seriously at the time; I thought she was just..."

"Just having a change of heart, yet too embarrassed to admit it, so she made up a few extra words."

Moli paused for a moment, looking at the two, her tone slowing down:

"But now the two of you ran over to ask me this... Are you two the same as her?"

King Feiyun did not answer.

Ziyi did not answer either.

The two just stood there quietly, and silence permeated the room.

Moli looked at their expressions, her brows slowly arching upward.

She had already noticed it today at the wedding banquet.

King Feiyun and Ziyi's gazes towards Lin Yun were half a beat slower than normal circumstances.

At the time, Moli only thought it was "a bit interesting" and didn't have time to think deeply about it.

But now the two ran over to find her in the middle of the night, asking if King Xuanyin had said any "unusual words"...

And their silent appearance after asking...

The corners of Moli's mouth slowly split open.

Her large eyes lit up, filled with irrepressible excitement.

"No way?" She stood on her tiptoes, "Did you two also fall for Lin Yun?"

The room fell silent for an instant.

King Feiyun's eyelashes trembled almost imperceptibly.

Ziyi's fingers also curled slightly.

Moli took in these two tiny details completely, as if discovering some peerless Treasure Trove, her eyes so bright they were almost glowing.

"Whoa—"

She drew out her ending tone, her facial expression extremely wonderful.

"No wonder you two were acting so strange at the wedding banquet today!"

"One held a teacup for ages without drinking, and the other picked up food with chopsticks midway and forgot to put it down!"

"I thought you guys were just infected by the wedding banquet atmosphere, but turns out you were looking at him?"

As Moli spoke, she grew excited first, gesturing with her two small hands in the air.

"And do you guys remember? Your Highness King Feiyun, when you clinked glasses with Lin Yun today, your cup rim was half an inch lower than usual!"

"That's the posture for toasting elders! As a dignified Ninth-Step King, you lowered your head to toast a sixth-step Junior? Don't you find it strange yourself?"

"And Little Sister Ziyi! When you spoke with Lin Yun today, the arc of the curve at the corner of your mouth was just a tiny bit bigger than usual!"

"Ordinary people wouldn't be able to tell, but I saw it crystal clear!"

The more Moli spoke, the more excited she became, pacing back and forth in the room, her small bare feet making pattering sounds on the floor.

"You came to find me to ask about Xuanyin, which shows that you yourselves have also realized something is wrong, right?"

"You've also discovered that you have that... that feeling towards Lin Yun, right?"

She stopped, looking at the two, her small face filled with an "I knew it" expression.

"That fellow Xuanyin indeed didn't leave because of some official business!"

"She was just influenced by Lin Yun and ran away because she was afraid she would truly sink into it!"

"She even told me not to sink too deeply..."

When Moli said this, she froze for a second herself.

Then she looked at King Feiyun, and then at Ziyi, that bit of excitement suddenly withdrawing a little.

"So..."

Moli's voice lowered a bit.

"Was she serious about telling me not to sink too deeply?"

King Feiyun finally spoke, her voice very soft, yet carrying a complexity that even she herself hadn't noticed:

"She was serious."

Moli looked at her expression, opened her mouth, and closed it again.

She recalled the tone, calm to the point of being almost nonchalant, when Xuanyin spoke those words in the Virtual World.

"After understanding, you might regret understanding."

Moli had originally thought that was just an excuse for Xuanyin to put on a mysterious front.

Now looking at King Feiyun and Ziyi's expressions, she vaguely realized...

What Xuanyin said might be true.

That thing really would make people sink into it.

And after sinking into it, one might truly regret it.

But Moli only fell silent for a moment, then shook her head, shaking that bit of deep thought away.

Her gaze swept back and forth across the two, and her expression restored to that lively and spirited look.

"Alright, I understand."

"The two of you came to find me tonight just to confirm whether Xuanyin is the same as you, right?"

"I'm telling you—yes."

"She is just like you, also influenced by Lin Yun."

"And she discovered this matter earlier than me, so she ran away."

Moli placed her hands on her hips, standing in front of the two, her small face lifted slightly.

"But the two of you are different..."

"You can't run away."

"Because you are right here in the Lingyuan Empire."

King Feiyun and Ziyi fell silent at the same time.

Moli watched their expressions, and the thought in her heart grew clearer and clearer.

She recalled what Xuanyin had said in the Virtual World.

"You will know after having more contact."

Moli didn't understand at the time.

Now she seemed to understand a little.

Looking at the two women with complicated expressions in front of her, the corners of her mouth split into a smile that said, "Xuanyin, I've caught your weakness."

"Interesting."

"Really interesting."

"I want to see just what kind of ability that Lin Yun has to make each and every one of you fall for him."

As she spoke, she hopped back onto the soft couch and sat cross-legged.

"Come on, tell me the whole story from beginning to end clearly."

"When did you two start?"

"Don't leave out any details; you are not allowed to miss a single detail."
