413: Chapter 413 What have you been doing to Xuan Yin these past two days?

Moli only arrived in the afternoon.

The sun had climbed to the zenith; the red silk in the courtyard was warmed by the sun until it was slightly hot, and even the breeze felt balmy.

She was wearing a tender green short jacket, with two small daisies embroidered on the cuffs.

Her pace was much faster than usual, and the hem of her short jacket flipped up in the wind.

As soon as she entered the door, she shouted: "Xuanyin has left?"

The people in the living room were sitting around drinking tea and eating snacks.

Hearing this, they all turned their heads to look at the door in unison.

Qiao Feifei was still holding a piece of osmanthus cake in her hand, her mouth agape, words yet to be spoken.

Moli had already strode in with a few quick steps.

Her little face was tight, and her brows were furrowed.

She looked less composed and more anxious than usual.

"I'm asking you all! Has Xuanyin left?"

She walked around the long table, stopped in front of Su Yingxue, raised her head, and widened her large eyes into perfect circles.

Su Yingxue set down her teacup: "How did you know, Senior?"

"How did I know?" Moli's voice jumped up by half a pitch.

"She had made an appointment with me! She agreed to stay for a few more days, agreed to let me take her to see that newly opened spirit fruit shop in the north of the city, and also agreed to have a meal with me before she left!"

The more she spoke, the more anxious she became, and she stomped her short legs on the spot.

"How can she be like this! We agreed on these things, and she just ran off without even saying a word!"

Bai Ling poked her head out from the side and asked cautiously: "Senior, you... didn't know she was leaving?"

"How would I know?!"

Moli plopped down onto a nearby chair, looking indignant.

"She even sent me a message yesterday evening, saying something like 'I'll stay for two more days, I still have some things to finish.' And yet, she was gone by this morning!"

She picked up the teacup on the table and took a big gulp, only to realize after finishing that it was Qianye's cup.

"Oh, sorry about that." She put down the cup and wiped the corner of her mouth carelessly.

Qianye waved his hand: "It's fine, Senior, take your time."

Moli took another sip, put the cup down, sighed, and leaned back.

"So she just left like that? Without saying anything?"

"She did say something." Su Yingxue said in a gentle tone, briefly recounting what happened in the morning.

"It was just a normal farewell. She said her itinerary remained unchanged and she would depart at the scheduled time. Then she took Ai Wei and boarded the blue fox and left."

Moli fell silent after listening.

She sat in the chair, her short legs dangling in the air, swinging for a moment before stopping.

The anger on her face dissipated quite a bit, replaced by a thoughtful expression.

After a while, she spoke: "When she said goodbye to you all, what was her expression like?"

"What expression?"

"I mean... her attitude." Moli looked at Su Yingxue seriously.

"When she was talking to you, was she smiling like she was the past two days, or was she tight-faced?"

Su Yingxue recalled: "Tight-faced. Very cold, as if she was in a hurry to leave."

Moli's brows furrowed again.

She lowered her head and tapped her fingertips gently on the edge of the table, as if trying to piece something together.

Lin Qianxi leaned over and asked in a low voice: "Senior, do you know something?"

Moli lifted her eyelids to glance at her, not denying it.

After a few moments of silence, Moli muttered in a low voice: "Something is wrong with her."

"As for Xuanyin, I've known her for over eight thousand years. If she really wanted to leave, she wouldn't have made an appointment with me to 'stay for two more days' or anything like that."

"Since she said it, she really intended to stay."

"But she left suddenly today..."

Moli paused here, her gaze slowly sweeping around the room before finally landing on Lin Yun.

That gaze carried an indescribable scrutiny, as if she were reassessing him.

"Lin Yun, kid, what did you do to Xuanyin these past two days?"

Lin Yun was stunned by this sudden question: "I didn't do anything."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Then did you speak to her these past two days?"

"We spoke once in the corridor, I saw her from afar at the wedding banquet, and this morning when she left, I said 'Have a safe trip'."

Moli stared at him for a long while, as if judging whether he was telling the truth or lying.

Finally, she clicked her tongue and withdrew her gaze: "Then why is she running away?"

No one answered.

Moli was silent for another moment, then suddenly jumped down from the chair and patted the dust off her bottom.

"Forget it. She's already gone, and I can't catch up even if I tried."

"But don't worry, she won't run far."

When she reached the door, she looked back at Lin Yun, her tone carrying the certainty of someone experienced: "I know her too well. The more she runs in a hurry, and the more she runs without saying goodbye, the more it shows she has something to hide."

"Once she gets over this period, she will come back on her own."

"Just wait and see."

After saying this, she waved her hand and left without looking back.

Her short legs moved quickly and steadily, her tender green short jacket flashed in the sunlight outside the door, and then she disappeared around the corner of the courtyard.

The living room was quiet for a moment.

Qiao Shiyu turned to look at Su Yingxue: "Sister Yingxue, do you think what Senior Moli said is true?"

Su Yingxue looked in the direction where Moli had disappeared, the corners of her mouth curling slightly.

"What she said is the same as what I think."

The sunlight in the courtyard was just right.

The red silk fluttered gently in the wind, rustling softly.

The wind blew in from the door, carrying a faint, elusive fragrance of flowers, circled the living room once, and then dissipated.

...

The first thing Moli did when she returned to her residence was to activate her light computer.

She kicked off her shoes and sat cross-legged on the soft couch.

A communication request was sent out.

It took a long while for the other side to connect.

"What is it?" King Xuanyin's voice came from the light computer, cold, flat, and without inflection.

Moli didn't beat around the bush with her: "Enter the Virtual World. I have something to ask you."

"It's the same to talk here."

"I said, enter the Virtual World."

"Moliβ€”"

"Get in."

King Xuanyin was silent for a few moments, but ultimately compromised.

A strand of Divine Thought separated from her Sea of Consciousness, submerged into the light computer, and entered the Virtual World.

She appeared in a small courtyard.

The small courtyard had blue-tiled roofs and white walls, with a string of wind chimes hanging from the eaves.

An old peach tree was planted in the yard, and as it was currently in full bloom, the tree was covered in pink and white petals that swayed gently in the virtual breeze.

In the Virtual World, King Xuanyin was wearing a simple, plain-colored long dress.

Her long hair was let down, not tied in a bun, looking less sharp and more casual than in reality.

Moli appeared outside her world, hands on her hips: "What are you running from?"
