4: Chapter 4: Su Yingxue's Changes in Mindset, Her Martial Arts Talent Begins to Emerge

The atmosphere eased once more.

The servants continued to serve the dishes, filling the dining table with exquisite medicinal cuisine.

Grandfather Lin Zhentian smiled as he smoothed things over:

"It is a good thing for Yun'er to have ambition, but the road must be taken one step at a time."

"Yingxue, don't take it to heart. This boy has been like this since he was young; once he sets his mind on something, ten oxen couldn't pull him back."

Su Yingxue shook her head gently. "I won't, Grandfather."

Although she said that, she did feel a strange sensation in her heart.

Clearly, she had married Lin Yun to continue her Martial Arts Cultivation; their relationship was more like a partnership where each took what they needed.

But now, hearing that he wanted to marry another woman—especially when the other party was a powerhouse like Wen Yan who possessed both beauty and strength—she felt somewhat uncomfortable.

"Is my heart for the Martial Dao not as steadfast as I thought?"

Su Yingxue pondered silently, taking small bites of the dishes before her, yet the food seemed tasteless.

Lin Yun seemed to sense her mood and gently took hold of her hand under the table.

Warmth spread from his palm, and Su Yingxue felt a warmth in her heart as she looked up into Lin Yun's smiling eyes.

"Eat."

Lin Yun said softly, placing a piece of thoroughly stewed Vicious Beast meat into her bowl.

"This is Armored Rhino meat; it's good for supplementing blood-qi. Eat more."

Su Yingxue nodded, and the strange feeling in her heart lessened slightly.

During the meal, Wen Yan suddenly spoke up: "Yingxue, what is your blood-qi value now?"

Su Yingxue quickly put down her chopsticks. "Auntie Wen, it's 89 points."

"89..." Wen Yan said thoughtfully. "Only one step away from being a Martial Artist. Have you used those three blood-qi pills?"

"Not yet," Su Yingxue answered honestly. "I want to wait until my state is adjusted to its peak before using them."

Wen Yan nodded. "Wise. Although blood-qi pills can forcibly increase blood-qi, an unstable Foundation will instead be harmful."

"How about this: this afternoon I will guide your Cultivation, and we will strive for an early Breakthrough."

Su Yingxue's eyes lit up. "Is that really okay? Thank you, Auntie Wen!"

"It's a small matter," Wen Yan said indifferently. "The Lin family needs a new Martial Artist right now. The sooner you Breakthrough, the better it is for the Lin family."

These words were blunt, but they were the truth.

Although Wen Yan was the guardian deity of the Lin family, she was ultimately an outsider.

The Lin family needed a Martial Artist of its own to truly gain a firm foothold in Jiang City.

Grandfather Lin Zhentian gave Wen Yan a grateful look. "I'll have to trouble you again."

"I take the money to do the job; it's only right."

Wen Yan spoke nonchalantly, but Lin Yun knew that if not for Wen Yan's sincere help over the years, the Lin family would have been swallowed by other forces long ago.

After the meal, Grandfather Lin Zhentian needed to rest due to his physical condition and left first.

Wen Yan led Su Yingxue to the Training Room, and Lin Yun naturally followed.

The Training Room was located on the west side of the manor, covering a vast area and fully equipped with various training equipment.

Su Yingxue's blood-qi value was already 89 points, nearly nine times that of an average adult male.

Having eaten the carefully prepared medicinal cuisine at noon, she had now fully recovered, showing no trace of her distressed state when she first left the room.

She had changed into a well-fitting black training suit with her long hair tied in a ponytail, looking sharp and capable.

"The apprentice stage is mainly about refining blood-qi. Only upon reaching 100 points can you sense the Universe energy; only then can you Cultivate the Channeling Formula and truly step onto the path of a Martial Artist."

Wen Yan said as she walked toward the training area.

"Yingxue, what are you practicing now?"

"Auntie Wen, I mainly practice a soft-style palm technique, the Flowing Cloud Palm."

Su Yingxue answered respectfully.

"Perform it once for me to see."

Su Yingxue nodded, walked to the center of the training area, and took her stance.

Her movements were slow at first, like rising clouds and surging mist, soft and ethereal.

But as the palm technique unfolded, her movements grew faster, hardness within the softness, and the whistling of her palms even brought forth bursts of chilliness.

Lin Yun watched, finding it pleasing to the eye.

Su Yingxue's palm technique was not only exquisite, but her posture was also graceful, like a dance.

The black training suit traced her graceful curves with her movements, her long hair flying, a perfect combination of heroism and feminine beauty.

Slap!

Wen Yan slapped the back of Lin Yun's head.

"What are you looking at, brat? You're here to observe and learn, not to look at a beauty! Don't just stand there, go perform a set of Fierce Tiger Fist!"

Lin Yun winced in pain, grimacing as he rubbed his head:

"Auntie Wen, be gentler. What if you make me stupid?"

"With that brain of yours, becoming stupid might actually help you see the light."

Wen Yan rolled her eyes at him.

Lin Yun didn't dare to argue and obediently walked to another open space, beginning the opening stance of the Fierce Tiger Fist.

He had practiced this boxing technique since childhood for over a dozen years, and every movement was etched into his heart.

But today, when he truly began to practice, he had a completely new feeling.

In the past, practicing this set always felt a bit sluggish, as if his body couldn't keep up with the rhythm of his consciousness.

But it was different now.

His limbs moved freely and easily, power flowed smoothly, and between each move and stance, there was even the faint sound of a tiger's roar!

Blood-qi surged within his body as the boxing technique operated, and the exhilarating feeling made him lose himself in it.

"Is this the yellow rank mid-grade Martial Arts Talent?" Lin Yun was incredibly excited.

He could clearly feel that for the same boxing technique, its current power had increased by at least twenty percent!

Moreover, his control over his body was more precise; many subtle adjustments that he couldn't do before could now be easily completed.

He was completely immersed in the boxing technique, practicing selflessly.

Tiger Emerging from the Cave, Tiger Roaring in the Mountain Forest, Hungry Tiger Pouncing on Prey...

As the fierce boxing moves were unleashed one by one, his whole person was like a true fierce tiger, his Aura imposing.

After finishing the set, Lin Yun stood still to consolidate his power, feeling his blood-qi boiling and his whole body refreshed.

Only then did he realize that Wen Yan and Su Yingxue had stopped their practice at some point and were watching him together.

Wen Yan crossed her arms, a flash of surprise in her eyes:

"Not bad, kid. What kind of Spirit Pill or miraculous medicine did you take? To have such great progress?"

Lin Yun grinned:

"Isn't it because I have to work harder to marry you into the family?"

"Get lost!" Wen Yan laughed and scolded, "Believe it or not, I'll throw you out if you keep being so glib?"

"I believe you, I believe you!" Lin Yun quickly raised his hands in surrender. "Auntie Wen, calm your anger. I was just making a joke."

Wen Yan snorted and ignored him, turning back to continue guiding Su Yingxue:

"Your Flowing Cloud Palm has plenty of soft force but insufficient hard force."

"Palm techniques emphasize the combination of hardness and softness. Right now you are like a pool of still water; you need to learn how to stir up waves."

As she spoke, Wen Yan personally demonstrated a move.

It was the same opening stance of the Flowing Cloud Palm, but her movements contained a sharp Aura.

With a strike of her palm, the air in the training area let out a sonic boom, and the force-measuring target three meters away shook violently.

An astonishing number jumped onto the screen—1850kg!

Su Yingxue gasped.

This was the true power of a Martial Artist!

"Did you see clearly?" Wen Yan finished her move.

"It's not about asking you to change your style, but to hide hard force within the softness."

"The most terrifying thing about soft-style palm techniques is that the enemy often doesn't realize when the fatal blow is coming."

Su Yingxue seemed to have gained some insight and began to practice again.
