85: Chapter 85 Simps Never Get a Good Death

It was a very clichéd story. The victim, He Shuai, started delivering food after high school graduation to support his girlfriend through college. When they were deeply in love, he gave willingly, never once considering the consequences of betting on someone else's conscience.

Presumably, as the passion faded, He Shuai also lost his sense of security. Taking advantage of the ample free time from food delivery, he often secretly went to his girlfriend's school to keep an eye on her.

Before his girlfriend could 'land' her true love, He Shuai caught her receiving the 'interest' he had paid in advance—countless green hats.

Hmm, Zhu Qi was not among those who gave him green hats.

"He Shuai is going too far, isn't he? Zhu Qi was just pursuing her, why drag him into it too?"

Lin Ning chuckled, "What? Sympathy for a fellow simp? You're actually pitying Zhu Qi now?"

Wang Qiao was displeased, "Why call him a simp? Buying breakfast, helping reserve seats, that's such a pure form of courtship! Only those who give gifts every day are simps, right?!"

"Those who give gifts have already slept with her! They're called sugar daddies!"

"Is Zhu Qi missing a screw? It's not the era where you can win someone over by just buying breakfast. If your gifts aren't valuable, even her roommates will mock you!"

"He probably doesn't have money, sigh..."

Lin Ning was speechless. He was just gossiping, and Wang Qiao was getting sentimental.

After reading a summary, there was little information about Zhu Qi. He Shuai just described how Zhu Qi was simping for his girlfriend, who had already slept with several other people, yet Zhu Qi was still simping.

The humiliation was quite immense. He pursued a pure 'little white flower' only to find out she was a rotten person, and then was exposed online by her original boyfriend for all the world to see.

Did Zhu Qi turn dark because of this incident? And then conspired to kill thebad girl (Scummy Woman) or He Shuai?

He glanced at the comments; there wasn't anything useful. He planned to check other posts.

"Holy shit!!! Look at this." Wang Qiao suddenly shoved his laptop in front of Lin Ning, "This guy became a male model???"

A post on the forum, speaking from the perspective of an insider, revealed that Zhu Qi went to a *** club to work as a male model to earn money. He planned to buy a Chanel bag for his "girlfriend." He had saved enough money, but then He Shuai exposed everything. There were also suspicions that Zhu Qi had contracted an STD and visited the CDC, and his roommates had all moved out.

Wang Qiao clicked his tongue, "He's really too unlucky!"

Lin Ning's face visibly darkened.

Sick and gradually turning redder—could this bastard be intentionally spreading the virus?! Is the Fighting Gym still "clean"? Although there wasn't much contact, STDs are generally transmitted through sex and blood, but towels still carry a 1% risk, and what if he deliberately caused trouble?

"What's wrong?" Wang Qiao saw Lin Ning's gloomy expression and, after asking, also realized, "You should read fewer marketing accounts; it's not that easy to transmit."

Lin Ning grabbed his phone and called Coach Chen Hu, "Brother Hu, is Zhu Qi there?"

"I'll be right over. I'll explain when I get there."

He packed his things, stood up to leave, and was grabbed by Wang Qiao, "I'll drive you."

Wang Qiao: "The rumors might not be true."

"I know," Lin Ning's expression returned to calm in the car. "I also want Brother Hu to help verify it. Once we have a result, we'll know what to do next. Stop at a pharmacy."

Upon arriving at the Fighting Gym, Lin Ning saw Zhu Qi in the lobby, sitting and resting while watching others train.

Lin Ning signaled to Brother Hu to go outside and talk.

Outside, he got straight to the point, explaining Zhu Qi's online exposure, "The rumors might not be true, but it's better to verify, especially since there's often blood during training."

Halfway through, Coach Chen Hu's face was much darker than Lin Ning's had been just moments before. This was his business, his establishment.

He pondered for a moment, "How do we verify it?"

Lin Ning pulled out a Wondfo 4-in-1 test kit, "Let's test him."

Coach Chen Hu hissed through his teeth as if he had a toothache, "You young people today..."

Lin Ning rolled his eyes, "What does this have to do with young people? Don't generalize."

With the task handed over, Lin Ning felt relieved and asked, "How do we get his blood?"

Even though Coach Chen Hu had been a soldier for many years and was straightforward and tough, his age was a factor, and besides, a truly dull and honest person couldn't run this Fighting Gym.

He waved his hand casually and called out a young coach, "You don't have any wounds, do you? Take that newly bought instrument and walk around Zhu Qi. Make a cut on him and get me some blood."

The young coach had probably just retired from the army, so he didn't ask why. He stood tall and saluted, "Yes, sir!"

Lin Ning watched, dumbfounded. He thought they'd use a blood test for physical data or something, but instead, "You're doing this?"

Coach Chen Hu didn't look at Lin Ning, frowning as he watched the training area, "If he really is sick and didn't mention it during registration, there's no way he'd let us test his blood now."

Less than five minutes later, the young coach came out, flipped his hand to reveal a vacuum ball filled with a whole tube of blood. After handing it to Coach Chen Hu, he turned back to find a first-aid kit for Zhu Qi.

"Hiss!" How big of a cut must that have been? He really went for it.

He dripped the blood into the small hole on the 4-in-1 test kit, with plenty of blood still remaining.

While waiting for the results, Lin Ning and Coach Chen Hu lit a cigarette.

Watching the smoke billow, Coach Chen Hu spoke, "What made you think of checking Zhu Qi?"

Lin Ning was silent for a moment, "Curiosity. He doesn't talk to anyone and trains like crazy every day. Feels like there's a story there."

Coach Chen Hu was noncommittal.

Fifteen minutes passed in a flash. Seeing the two lines appear on the HIV test, Coach Chen Hu's face was so grim it looked like water could drip from it.

Lin Ning, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief. Compared to other STDs, HIV has the lowest transmission rate, aside from its fixed routes of fluid and blood transmission.

"That unethical bastard!" Coach Chen Hu cursed, turning to tell Zhu Qi to get lost.

"Wait." Lin Ning grabbed him, "It's too late to react now. Close the gym for two days for a thorough disinfection, and those who had close contact with him should get tested."

Lin Ning said calmly, "Give me two days. I suspect there's something else going on with him. Don't alarm him yet."

Coach Chen Hu narrowed his eyes at Lin Ning for a long moment, then said, "Alright, I don't know what you're up to, but anyone who causes trouble while training here won't be allowed back."

Lin Ning gave a wry smile, "What are you thinking? If something's found, report it. You won't have to issue a refund, and you won't have to publicize it and affect the Fighting Gym. If there's nothing else, it's not too late to kick him out then."

Lin Ning returned to the car by the roadside, and Wang Qiao quickly asked, "How was it?"

"HIV."

"Damn!" Wang Qiao had thought it would at most be HPV. "This guy is so unlucky; his life is ruined, all for a woman he never even got in the end."

There's no way to talk about this. There's some sympathy, but not much; this wasn't like getting infected innocently from a blood donation. He chose his own path. Even if he was selling himself, didn't he use protection? With information so readily available now, how could a university student not know these things?

When Lin Ning said that, Wang Qiao's expression became strange as he asked, "How can you be sure it wasn't a mouth-to-steel-wool situation?"

"Damn it! Get lost!" Lin Ning involuntarily shivered, utterly disgusted.

Wang Qiao also felt a bit sick and ended the topic, "So what do we do next?"

"Follow him for two days. See what he's doing at other times. If we're lucky, we'll catch him in the act. If not, we might still find some clues."
