89: Chapter 89 An Zhaocheng, the sentry post appears again.

"Damn! You're ripping me off! If the food isn't good and expensive later, I'm pinning you here." Lin Ning looked at the luxury three-story restaurant and couldn't help but threaten.

Wang Qiao rolled his eyes; he was starving and had no time for Lin Ning. He walked into the restaurant on his own.

Lin Ning wasn't hungry; he just wanted to tease Wang Qiao, trailing behind and nagging.

Suddenly, a refined man in a polo shirt walked out of the antique carved gate, instantly grabbing Lin Ning's attention. His pupils constricted.

Deep Red — [ Brian An / Journalist ]

Lin Ning subconsciously turned his head slightly, averting his gaze. He was extremely sensitive to eyes on him, so he had long developed the habit of not looking directly at targets.

Just as he shifted his gaze, Brian An looked at him, stared for a moment, and then swept across the others. This was his habit—always monitoring his surroundings.

Lin Ning's Psychic Power was already spread out, so he naturally "saw" his actions. His back felt cold, and his heart tightened.

He had encountered several spies, and Brian An's behavior was similar to that foreign woman's, perhaps even more alert and dangerous.

But it happened in a flash.

At this moment, Wang Qiao turned his head and shouted at Lin Ning, "Why are you dawdling? Hurry up!"

Lin Ning subconsciously put his hand into the large pocket of his hoodie, holding the phone inside.

Then, with an annoyed face, he said, "Damn, I left my phone in the car. Give me the car keys."

Because of their conversation, Brian An looked at them again but didn't pay much attention, continuing toward the parking area.

Lin Ning walked quickly, took the keys from Wang Qiao, and turned toward the parking lot.

Their directions were opposite; Lin Ning didn't look in his direction but headed straight for his car. However, his Psychic Power had already gathered in Brian An's direction.

Fortunately, the restaurant's parking lot wasn't large, and Lin Ning's Psychic Power could handle it. He walked to the car, opened the door, and sat inside.

With the car's cover, Lin Ning cast his gaze toward where his Psychic Power extended, finally relieving the consumption of pure Psychic Power. He breathed a sigh of relief.

Using it as a visual supplement was fine; he could even replenish it as he consumed it. But using Psychic Power purely to "stalk" someone was still too strenuous for him—if he wasn't careful, it would end in another nosebleed.

Before long, a white BMW SUV drove out of the parking lot. The license plate — Jing H · A1XXX.

Having obtained the desired information, Lin Ning withdrew his Psychic Power, held his phone, opened the door, and walked back to the restaurant. Acting the whole way was already ingrained in his bones.

Wang Qiao was waiting for him in the waiting area, "Found it?"

Lin Ning smiled and waved his phone, changing the subject, "Let's go in. You've eaten here before, you order."

Led by the waiter, they were seated. Lin Ning fiddled with his phone, watching Wang Qiao introduce the menu and tick items. Lin Ning agreed to whatever dish he suggested, smiling and occasionally saying something cheeky.

But in reality, Lin Ning was on edge.

His feeling was correct; someone was "watching" him. Ever since Brian An appeared, his attention had been mostly on him, just feeling something was wrong.

Now he was sure: there was definitely a sentry in this restaurant. From the moment he sat down to order, he had been "stared at" three times in a few minutes.

Damn it, why are they all such tricky customers lately?

After the food was served, no more gazes were cast his way, and only then did Lin Ning relax to eat properly. Must say, it was delicious!

"This roast goose is amazing. It's just too far, otherwise, I'd definitely come often."

Wang Qiao was happy to hear Lin Ning's praise, "Right? I told you their roast meat is super delicious."

After the meal, Lin Ning pulled Wang Qiao directly to the front desk to pay. Leaning on the counter, he picked up two mints, glanced casually at the lobby, and asked the receptionist, "Do you have private rooms?"

The receptionist handed the receipt to Lin Ning and replied, "Yes, but there's a service fee for private rooms."

After paying with his phone, Lin Ning pulled Wang Qiao out, saying as they walked, "If it's for team building or treating guests, this is good! The price is okay too, not expensive..."

Back in the car, Lin Ning pursed his lips tightly. He hadn't found any red names in the lobby. Well, that's not to say there weren't any, there were one or two light red names, but they didn't look like sentries.

When Wang Qiao drove out of the parking lot, Lin Ning looked at the Cantonese restaurant outside the window, his eyes dark.

Ya City used to be the bellwether of the national car market, but it hadn't been doing well in the last two years. Many mixed showrooms had turned into used car dealerships and 4S shops.

But for basic low-to-mid-range cars, it was still the most comprehensive.

Lin Ning was no longer in the mood to stroll. He said directly to Wang Qiao, "Budget is under 150,000. You know my place, big trucks always pass by, the road is average, snow is thick in winter. I need something sturdy, with high ground clearance, and good safety—I have a child. I was looking at the Jetour Traveler, Geely Xingyue L, and Haval Big Dog. Do you have any recommendations?"

"Huh?" Wang Qiao was a bit confused, "Don't you want to look around more?"

"Forget it. At this price point, I can only look at domestic cars. I'd like to browse Volvo or Mercedes or BMW, but I'm not buying, so let's not get looked down upon. I'll look again when I can afford them."

Wang Qiao thought that made sense, "Alright, let's focus on these three today. I don't have any recommendations. The ones I drool over are luxury cars; I haven't researched the ones I can afford, hahaha..."

Lin Ning laughed too. Actually, the guys were all the same. When they had no money, they looked at luxury cars. When they really wanted to buy, they re-researched within the budget. Well, Yang Weifeng was a bit more grounded. He had to be; he had a wife and child.

The two headed straight for these 4S shops.

After looking around, understanding the parameters, and test-driving two laps, Lin Ning ended up liking the Tiggo 9.

It was just that the price was a bit over.

Wang Qiao called Brother Li, but he wasn't there. He stopped Brother Li from trying to call someone, "We're not buying today. We'll talk when Brother Li is back."

On the return trip, Lin Ning said, "Drop me off at Fucheng Street in a while."

Wang Qiao was a bit puzzled: "Why do I feel like your mind is elsewhere?"

"Just remembered something." Lin Ning didn't want to talk about Brian An. If it were an ordinary criminal, fine, but the sense of danger Brian An gave him made him not want to involve Wang Qiao.

At Fucheng Street, Lin Ning waved goodbye to Wang Qiao.

Turning the corner, Lin Ning strode into that slightly old, small building.
