135: Wild Magic

Chapter 134 Wild Magic

The fire forced the Undead out of the fields.

Those hideous Undead creatures were quickly engulfed by the flames.

Some of the more tenacious ones struggled to climb onto the road embankment, but quickly collapsed halfway.

Flora threw out the last tube of Blazing Fire Glue.

This was all the stock they had brought for this trip.

But this amount was far from enough to ignite the entire plantation.

"We have to retreat," Flora said to Drax.

The Orc shook his head, swinging his battle-axe to cut down one that lunged from the field.

"Wait a little longer," he said, "We have to buy more time for the Lord."

Flora hesitated for a moment, but finally agreed to Drax's suggestion.

Indeed, the longer they fought here, the less pressure Arthur would face.

She pointed to a warehouse ahead and said, "Go over there."

Drax grinned and quickly rushed towards the warehouse.

When the first Ghoul charged down from the wall of the manor house, Heir had just completed her first spell.

The Ghoul's body suddenly paused.

The next second, it let out a roar, as if its soul was being torn apart.

A phantom appeared from a crack in the wall.

It was as if a brick had detached from its original position, grown limbs, and attacked Arthur.

Arthur detected it in advance, then leaped away, dodging the attack.

He quickly cast a Holy Fire spell.

The phantom was struck by the flame-like radiance and immediately dispersed into a mist.

But a moment later, it reformed in its original spot.

"The lock is open!"

The Sheriff brought good news.

"Go get the people onto the carriage, leave this to us!" Arthur shouted.

As soon as the Sheriff went in, the phantom attacked again.

This time, it also failed.

With the help of the Blessing spell, Arthur's physical attributes were enhanced to a certain extent.

"Heir, unleash your magic, we need it now!"

"I can't control them!"

Heir responded loudly, narrowly dodging the Ghoul's sharp claws.

More and more Undead creatures were emerging from the building and from the ground.

This place was like an Undead party.

"For earth mother's sake, we need it now."

Arthur struck the Ghoul that was entanglement Heir with his staff.

Heir, now free, took a deep breath and began to chant a spell.

Magical power crackled between her hands.

An ozone-like smell permeated Arthur's nostrils.

The girl's hair flew wildly due to the surge of magic.

The next second, the chaotic and unstable magic struck the phantom that was attacking Arthur from behind.

The moment it hit the phantom, the magic immediately turned into electricity.

Crackling electricity swept through the phantom's entire body.

Unfortunately, it had some resistance to lightning.

This blow only stopped its attack.

However, Heir's next spell exceeded everyone's expectations.

A scorching fireball condensed in her hand.

Feeling the heat wave behind him, Arthur turned and ran without hesitation.

After running a distance, the fireball struck the spot where he had just been standing.

The scorching heat wave and shockwave knocked him to the ground.

More Undead creatures appeared, emerging from the unburnt fields.

Like dense insects, they rushed towards the warehouse.

They were clumsy and slow-footed, but they had an absolute advantage in numbers.

Drax stomped his right foot, chose his target, and threw a wooden barrel he had on hand.

The barrel tumbled in the air, then slammed into the rotten flesh with a thud.

Before that zombie fell, Drax had already picked up a brick from the ground and was looking for a new target.

Flora's hands emitted a dazzling firelight.

This firelight attracted the attention of a dozen zombies.

These Undead creatures wailed and rushed towards the light created by the flames.

For the Undead, any dazzling light should be extinguished.

Drax grinned, threw the brick in his hand, and then climbed onto the wall, making his way to the roof.

This warehouse was tall enough, and on the other side was the forest, so the Undead creatures couldn't completely surround them.

This was an excellent battle location.

The first zombie to climb onto the roof was kicked down by the Orc.

When more and more Undead creatures gathered, filling both inside and outside the warehouse.

Flora pressed her hands onto the roof, and the flames quickly ignited the straw on the roof.

Flora didn't release her hands until one of the roof beams began to burn.

"Go," Drax urged.

Flora nodded, and the two agilely jumped down from the warehouse, running towards the forest.

A zombie charged at the Orc, its filthy arms flailing wildly.

Drax ducked his head, then surged upwards.

He slammed into the zombie's jaw, knocking it back repeatedly.

Then he swung his axe, striking the zombie's body, and sinking deep into it.

Dark, foul-smelling bodily fluids splattered out.

Immediately after, another one lunged, making a hateful clattering sound.

Drax turned around and thrust the axe handle forward.

The axe handle pierced the zombie's midsection, going straight through.

The zombie bit at him, grabbing Drax's shoulders with both hands.

The Orc wielded his axe, flinging that one directly away.

Then, he moved again, spinning to dodge the attack, positioning himself to counterattack with his battle-axe.

He swung his battle-axe diagonally, and with a crunching sound, the sharp axe head swept across, cutting into a zombie's head.

It sliced its entire head horizontally.

The zombie immediately convulsed and collapsed to the ground.

Behind them, more Undead creatures ran through the burning warehouse towards them.

Flora's fist swung again, and scorching flames shot out, striking a larger zombie.

One of the Ghoul charged at her from behind, leaping fiercely during its charge.

Hearing the sound, Flora turned to face the enemy.

She waited calmly, judging the opponent's pace and speed, then threw a punch with precise movements.

The Ghoul stopped. It stared at Flora with wide eyes, its ugly face filled with surprise, then it slid to the ground.

As it fell, blood oozed from the charred hole in its chest.

Flora stepped over the corpse and ran towards Drax.

They had to leave here quickly.

The air was filled with a burnt smell.

Arthur got up from the ground, not bothering to check his body.

He saw a shallow, charred pit on the grass in front of the building.

"First prize," he said with a smile.

As a warlock, Heir's wild magic allowed her to cast a fireball spell.

One fireball directly burned many Undead creatures to death.

Arthur quickly ran towards Heir.

The girl had not yet recovered from the impact of the fire wave.

After roughly confirming Heir was alright, Arthur ran towards the carriage.

Fortunately, the startled pack horses hadn't run far.

"Quick, quick, get out."

Then, he heard the Sheriff's voice.

The Sheriff was escorting six survivors out of the wine cellar, heading towards the carriage.

He couldn't help but glance at the shallow pit that had been blown open, and raised his eyebrows.
