54: Fighting (Thank you for your recommendation and monthly tickets)

Looking at the Mountain People led by Lady Kadan, Ms. Kamara frowned slightly and couldn't help but ask Arthur, "Are all these people coming with us?"

"That's right, they will help us with ancient magic," Arthur replied.

"Magic?" The mercenary captain scrutinized the Mountain People again. "I always thought the Mountain People were extremely reclusive towards outsiders."

"But they seem to hold you in exceptional respect, willing to go to such lengths."

"This is very different from the Mountain People I know."

Arthur straightened his clothes. "Perhaps it's just because I'm extraordinarily charming."

"By the way, your scouts have been out for a while."

"Don't worry about my cousins; they are the best scouts I've ever seen. I think they'll be back soon..."

Before Ms. Kamara finished speaking, her twin cousins quickly emerged from the secret passage.

"The passage is safe," the older one reported. "We've located those bastards. We can leave anytime."

"Good! Everyone, let's go!" Ms. Kamara decisively gave the order.

---

The air began to grow humid, and the dew condensing on the leaves dampened Airo's hair.

She crouched in a bush, staring at a crudely made pitfall trap not far away.

It was located on the only path leading to the bandit camp.

Along the way, she and another scout had already dismantled many animal traps.

"What do you think?" the scout beside her asked.

He was clearly an Amn Easterner, speaking the common tongue with a heavy local accent.

"We have to dismantle it," Airo gave her assessment, "but I'm not entirely confident; it might make noise."

"And we're not far from the camp now, I'm worried..."

"I agree with you," the scout said, "but we're here to make some noise. So don't worry about being discovered."

Airo realized.

That's right, this time they weren't here to sneak in secretly, but to actively attract the attention of those mercenaries.

"Then let's do it," she nodded.

---

"Son of the Wolf, please give me the Goddess's scepter."

Lady Kadan requested of Arthur.

Arthur handed over the scepter as requested.

"This strengthens our connection with Her."

After a brief explanation, Lady Kadan inserted the scepter into the soil.

Then, she and the accompanying Mountain People formed a circle and began to chant softly in their unique language.

Ms. Kamara watched this scene with interest, turning to ask Arthur, "Do you know what they're doing?"

Arthur shook his head.

"So we wait?"

"Give them some time. Captain, is there any movement from the diversionary force?"

Ms. Kamara stepped forward, gazing in another direction, and replied, "The scouts haven't reported back yet."

"The frontal feint probably hasn't started yet."

She suddenly sniffed; the air was becoming increasingly humid.

The mercenary captain looked up at the sky in confusion. The starry night sky, once twinkling, was now completely obscured by thick clouds.

"It's going to rain," she mumbled. "The weather in the mountains is so unpredictable."

Arthur, however, wasn't looking at the sky, but intently at the circle of Mountain People.

"This is the signal," he told Ms. Kamara. "Once the rain has fallen long enough, you organize the attack."

"Sir, with all due respect, fighting in the rain is too risky."

"I need to formulate a reliable attack plan with my men."

"Don't worry, this rain will only affect the enemy," Arthur said.

---

"earth mother above, why is it suddenly raining?" Dylan looked at the bandit camp in surprise.

Above the camp, the entire sky was covered by a thick layer of dark clouds.

The heavy rain poured down, extinguishing all the fires.

"It's magic," Airo said. "Can we act now?"

Dylan nodded heavily: "Perfect timing! Hey, guys, blow the horn, fire the arrows!"

Under Godwin's command, the Mountain People hunters blew their hunting horns.

After the horn blast, arrows flew towards the camp like a swarm of locusts.

"Shout loudly! Let them know we're here!" Dylan yelled.

The seasoned veterans began to spew profanities.

The content ranged from greeting the enemy's family to cursing their genitals.

Before long, Dylan saw fires lighting up again at the camp.

"Shoot where there's fire," he pointed in one direction. "Two more rounds, then blow the horn."

"The rest is up to Lord Arthur and his men."

---

The twin scouts heard the diversionary force blow their horn again; this time, the sound was exceptionally long.

After the horn stopped, one of them took out his own bugle and blew it.

The signal to attack had sounded, and Ms. Kamara led her subordinates in a charge towards the camp.

Although she and her men were questioning the timing.

But as they charged halfway, the torrential rain began to gradually subside.

Ms. Kamara inwardly thought it was miraculous and ordered her subordinates to quicken their pace.

Arthur, with his retainers and the Mountain People, followed behind the main force.

Soon, sounds of fighting erupted ahead.

The soaked and disheveled enemies were caught off guard by the attack from the rear; they frantically organized their defenses.

But the interference from the heavy rain and the arrows coming from the front made it impossible for them to establish an effective defensive line.

Ms. Kamara led the charge, wielding twin axes and fighting fiercely, constantly yelling for Kai to come out and die.

Arthur's troops were assigned to deal with isolated enemies.

However, he noticed the eager glint in Philip's and Drax's eyes.

So, he said to the two, "Go, go help."

"Boss, Godwin ordered us to protect you well," Philip hesitated.

"Don't worry about me, the Mountain People will keep me safe," Arthur waved his hand.

Philip looked uncertainly at the orc.

The latter lifted his axe: "I shall definitely slay the enemies for you!"

With that, he let out a thunderous roar and charged into the enemy ranks.

"Wait for me, big guy!" Philip quickly followed.

After running a distance, he didn't forget to look back and shout to Arthur, "Me too!"

At this moment, Arthur had completed his first spell.

Three pure beams of light shone from him, Philip, and Drax respectively.

The two charging men felt a surge of power instantly flood their bodies.

The orc couldn't help but quicken his pace; like a terrifying war beast, he crashed into an enemy blocking his path.

With a swing of his great axe, he cut a mercenary in half at the waist.

Two mercenaries stepped forward to try and stop him, but under his furious assault, they quickly couldn't hold their ground.

Just then, Philip emerged from behind Drax.

He was like a piranha navigating the battlefield, always finding the right moment and angle to strike.

He stabbed a mercenary in the thigh with his short spear, then quickly jumped away.

The orc's axe followed close behind, and the mercenary immediately fell to the ground, incapacitated.

After clearing the enemies in front of him, the orc looked towards the center of the battlefield.

Ms. Kamara was fiercely battling a fully armored mercenary.

Due to the intensity of the fight, those around them dared not approach the two easily.

"Let's go, little one," the orc found his direction and continued to charge forward.
