185: Long live my brother-in-law

The usually quiet group chat on the weekend was like a depth charge thrown in, blowing up countless 'dead fish' lying dormant.

"Boss is so good! He knows we're all single guys and even helps introduce girls. If my mom knew, she'd introduce all the bachelors in the neighborhood to apply!"

"Girls? No wonder the fortune teller said I'd get out of singlehood in April! Thanks to Boss, brothers, let's go for it!"

"Asking for advice, how do I chat with girls? The only time I saw a lot of girls was in elementary school. My high school was an all-boys class, and college was even worse with only three girls in the whole class. After work..."

"The one upstairs, this question has no solution. Girls have three treasures: 'haha,' 'sleeping,' and 'showering.' I can make a girl run away in three sentences."

Song Yuan quickly scanned the chat log but didn't reply in the group. He only asked HR to count the number of attendees, stating that as long as there were no special circumstances, everyone, regardless of gender, would be counted.

This was their first team-building event since the company was founded.

Song Yuan had ample budget prepared and instructed HR to plan it well.

When Song Yuan returned home, Gu Shiyu was awake but lying in bed, scrolling on her tablet.

The wedding photography studio Song Yuan booked had sent several outdoor photography locations for them to choose their preferred venue.

Gu Shiyu had been looking at this since she woke up. It seemed women were naturally fond of taking photos, especially beautiful wedding photos like these.

Song Yuan was glad he suggested taking an additional set; otherwise, it would have left her with a lifelong regret.

Song Yuan changed into his home clothes and watched with her,

"Have you chosen? Which venue do you like?"

Gu Shiyu was a bit conflicted,

"I quite like this racecourse, but I can't ride a horse now, which is a bit of a pity. The scenery of this windmill flower sea is good, and the architectural one should also produce good photos."

Song Yuan flipped through a few pages on the iPad, following her posture,

"Then let's choose these two outdoor locations first. If you find other places beautiful later, we can add them. As for the racecourse, we can't go now. If you really want to go, I'll accompany you to ride horses there after the baby is born."

Gu Shiyu's disappointment was soothed, and she smiled, saying,

"We don't necessarily have to ride here. My grandmother has a private stable, and those horses have all been trained by professional trainers. They won't be shy at all. When the time comes, we can leave the baby with grandpa and grandma and enjoy our time as a couple."

Song Yuan was a little surprised. Sure enough, in the world of the rich, anything could be built privately.

"Do you know how to ride?"

Gu Shiyu nodded,

"A little. I've ridden all the horses at my grandmother's stable. But I have an Akhal-Teke horse that Grandma bought from Moscow and gave to me as an eighteenth birthday present. It was very wild when it first arrived, but I tamed it later.

Next time, I'll let you try it. It runs very fast and is brave enough to take you over obstacles."

Song Yuan was even more astonished. This was called 'knowing a little'? It seemed his wife had learned professional horsemanship; she could even tame a wild horse.

Song Yuan could imagine her valiant and heroic posture.

"Is the Akhal-Teke horse the legendary Blood-Sweating Horse?"

Gu Shiyu nodded,

"Yes."

"So, what color is your horse's sweat?"

Gu Shiyu chuckled softly,

"It doesn't bleed, but its color is very beautiful. Its reddish-brown coat under the sun really gives a visual illusion."

"Then I really want to try it!"

As the two chatted, they heard Gu Shiyuan roaring from the balcony downstairs,

"Sis... Sis...! Please reply on WeChat!"

Gu Shiyu picked up her phone and found she had set it to silent, so she hadn't heard any messages.

Gu Shiyuan had sent her a bunch of questions on WeChat, all about company business and some more profound management-related questions.

Gu Shiyu looked at those messages, a relieved smile on her face,

"This kid has really put in the effort recently. You can tell from the questions he's asking; they're finally not childish anymore. He's grown a lot in the past two months. I'm even thinking of increasing his allowance.

Song Yuan, you really solved my biggest headache!"

Song Yuan smiled,

"Give him a small reward, and it will have a multiplier effect. You can't be too tough with boys; you have to guide them. Gu Shiyuan is very smart, and his mind is flexible. When he gets serious, he'll be an excellent successor."

Gu Shiyu pondered his words, and after a while, she seemed to understand.

She didn't answer Gu Shiyuan's questions first. Instead, she transferred a sum of money to his card with the note,

"Good performance this month, allowance doubled!"

Just after transferring, she heard a shout from the balcony downstairs,

"Holy cow, am I seeing this right? My sister suddenly isn't stingy anymore, my sister's gone crazy... Long live brother-in-law!"

Downstairs, Song Yuan and Gu Shiyu exchanged glances for a few seconds. Gu Shiyu asked,

"I gave him pocket money, why didn't that kid say 'long live my sister' but 'long live brother-in-law'?"

Song Yuan scratched his head,

"Maybe he said it wrong..."

"Don't fool me, why does it not sound like he said it wrong? I'm going to recall the transfer!"

Song Yuan: ...

He had never seen anyone try to trick themselves like this.

The next day, on the weekend, the wedding photography studio's private car came to pick them up. Song Yuan and Gu Shiyu left with one of the aunts from home.

Considering Gu Shiyu was pregnant and couldn't get too tired, and pregnant women get hungry quickly, they also needed snacks in between. The aunt brought many pregnant-friendly snacks like beef jerky, milk, nuts, and some low-sugar fruits.

Song Yuan felt like he was bringing the whole family along. Just bringing one more nanny made it feel like a lot of people.

Later, when the two babies went out, they might need an additional nanny, and going out would be like a grand trip.

However, Song Yuan was quite looking forward to it.

Having two little ones call him 'Daddy' just sounded beautiful.

The van drove to the first wedding photography location, the flower field.

This flower field was also privately contracted, planted with many roses, tulips, and hydrangeas, specifically for private orders from hotels that host weddings.

Even more spectacular was the field of yellow canola flowers, a golden expanse as far as the eye could see, a vibrant yellow.

Song Yuan paid double the price to reserve this flower field for a weekend shoot.

Gu Shiyu was immediately captivated by the variety of flowers when she arrived, looking at this one, smelling that one.

Song Yuan saw her engrossed expression and silently decided to plant the family's yard full of flowers. Currently, one-third of the land was planted with roses; he could add more flower varieties, as she liked them all anyway.

The makeup artist set up a makeup station in the car and called her over for makeup.

Gu Shiyu was still reluctant to leave the flowers, only getting into the car after a while.

Song Yuan didn't need much makeup. He had worn a very formal suit when he left home and also brought two additional suits of different colors to match her outfits.

While he played a game outside, the van door opened, and Gu Shiyu stepped out, holding up her skirt.

Song Yuan looked over, and for a moment, he was stunned.

Song Yuan hadn't expected that a styling done in the time it took to play one game could be so stunning.
