96: Chapter 96: Revealing the Traitor
Song Yuan had already gotten out of the car and stood on the ground, asking her, “Aren’t you getting out?”
Shiyu paused, shaking the documents in her hand.
“Why don’t you go in by yourself? I’ll handle some work in the car.”
“Alright then, I’ll be back soon.”
After Song Yuan finished speaking, he walked inside.
In the hospital room, Gu Shiyuan’s leg was bandaged.
The young master was a picky eater and disliked the food the caretaker bought, so Old Lady personally brought dinner with the butler in the evening.
“Old Lady, please take Uncle Zhong and leave quickly, lest my sister finds out and says you’re spoiling me again!”
Old Lady sat and watched him finish his meal.
“If I don’t spoil you, who will? Tomorrow, just have the driver deliver your three meals a day; don’t eat outside food anymore.”
“Old Lady, did you forget that I’m being discharged tomorrow?”
Old Lady sighed.
“I’ve spoken with the hospital. You’ll stay for three more days for observation to ensure there are no issues before being discharged.
After that, you’ll live at the Old Residence, so I can keep an eye on you.”
Gu Shiyuan let out a wail, and just then, Song Yuan entered.
Song Yuan paused when he saw people in the room, then politely nodded to Gu Old Lady.
“Hello, Elder, I’m Gu Shiyuan’s colleague, here to visit him!”
Gu Shiyuan swallowed and said, “Senior Brother, this is my Old Lady.”
Old Lady looked Song Yuan over with a smile.
“Thank you for caring about our Ayuan.
It’s getting late, so I’ll head back first.
You two chat!”
After Old Lady finished speaking, she left with the driver and butler, leaving Song Yuan and Gu Shiyuan in the hospital room.
Gu Shiyuan had never mentioned to Old Lady that he and his brother-in-law worked together, so Old Lady didn’t know.
In that moment, he was so nervous he almost couldn’t speak.
Thankfully, Old Lady left.
Song Yuan placed the fruit he bought on the table for him.
“Your Old Lady looks a bit familiar to me; it’s as if I’ve seen her somewhere before!”
Song Yuan tried hard to recall, and finally remembered.
“Is your Old Lady a famous entrepreneur? Her name is Gu… Gu Jiangying?”
Song Yuan remembered seeing her in financial news; one issue specifically interviewed Gu Jiangying, the founder of Gu’s Group.
He remembered the Old Lady’s wise eyes vividly.
Gu Shiyuan scratched the top of his head.
“Yes, she is my Old Lady.”
Song Yuan was a bit shocked.
He knew Gu Shiyuan was a second-generation rich but didn’t expect him to be Gu Jiangying’s biological grandson.
With such a large family business, yet he came to start a business with him, he must truly love this industry.
“You little rascal, you hide things well!”
Gu Shiyuan didn’t dare to respond, fearing that if Song Yuan knew Shiyu was his sister, he didn’t know how shocked Song Yuan would be.
He didn’t dare to say anything, in case the words slipped out from him, his elder sister would beat him.
“Senior Brother, did you come to see me for something?”
Song Yuan said calmly, “Nothing much, just to see you.
Also, don’t participate in work these few days; rest well and we’ll talk after you’re discharged.”
“No way, I’ll be bored to death.”
Song Yuan glanced at his watch.
“My wife is downstairs, so I’m leaving first.
Call me if you need anything.”
Song Yuan went downstairs and returned to the car.
Shiyu sat there, her face flushed, not knowing what she was thinking.
“Shiyu, what are you thinking about?”
Shiyu’s gaze drifted forward; Old Lady’s car had already driven away.
After a moment of silence, she said, “Nothing.”
Shiyu felt she couldn’t delay any longer; she needed to clarify things with Song Yuan sooner.
“Song Yuan, if one day you find out I’ve lied to you about some things, what would you do?”
Song Yuan looked at her, his expression pausing, and Lin Xueyao involuntarily came to mind.
Lin Xueyao was with him for a free meal ticket; she had deceived Song Yuan’s feelings for three years.
Song Yuan was sensitive to the word ‘deceive’.
He hated being deceived.
“Shiyu, would you deceive me?”
After a pause, he added, “I will no longer contact anyone who deceives me.”
Shiyu inexplicably felt her throat dry, and it took her a while to answer his previous question.
“No.”
She appeared calm on the surface, but her heart was pounding.
Her intuition told her that the longer she delayed, the harder it would be to explain.
Shiyu thought to herself, she must find an opportunity to explain everything to Song Yuan before her birthday next month.
As she was pondering the right occasion to confess to Song Yuan, Gu Shiyuan’s message came in.
【Old Lady saw Brother-in-law.
I didn’t say anything, okay?
If he finds out someday, don’t blame it on me!】
Shiyu didn’t reply; she simply deleted the message.
Song Yuan had already driven the car out of the hospital and was heading home.
Shiyu asked him, “How is your junior brother recovering?”
Song Yuan replied, “There’s no major problem; it’s just that his leg is bandaged like a mummy.
It takes a hundred days for bones and tendons to heal, so he might need to rest for a while.”
Shiyu casually hummed in response, sitting there thoughtfully.
The next day, Song Yuan arrived at the company.
Immediately after the morning meeting, he received a summons from the court; it was Li Mingqi suing them for plagiarism.
Lu Chi was just about to report it to the police, but before he could, Tianyu Company took the initiative to accuse them.
Lu Chi carefully put away the two pages.
“Then we’ll see each other in court.
We’ll see who gets slapped in the face then!”
The group of people in the office didn’t know what had happened and were still confused.
Song Yuan had already caught the mole and no longer concealed the matter.
“Everyone, don’t panic.
Our code was stolen by Tianyu, and they’re suing us for plagiarism.
We can’t lose this lawsuit.”
Li Lei had a fiery temper and despised such petty behavior the most.
“Damn Li Mingqi, if you have the guts, face us head-on.
What kind of skill is it to pull these petty tricks?!
Let’s go to Tianyu Company and find him!”
“Yes, let’s go find him.
I despise these plagiarism dogs the most.
Before, I overestimated him, thinking Li Mingqi was a gentleman and only his subordinates were bad, but I didn’t expect him to be the same species as Wang Jincai.”
“Spread this matter throughout Tianyu Company.
I don’t believe that as a CEO, he isn’t afraid of losing face.
His company’s stock has been falling continuously.
Is this a desperate move?”
Song Yuan comforted everyone, “Everyone, don’t rush.
We are few in number, and going to Li Mingqi won’t gain us anything.
We have evidence, and I can prove that the code is ours.
Now Lu Chi is preparing to report it to the police, and everything will be handled by the police.
If he wants to fight this lawsuit, we’ll play along to the end!”
Xu Yuanyuan stood beside Song Yuan, asking softly, “Is it really alright?”
Song Yuan chuckled softly.
“It’s fine.
Our work will proceed according to schedule.
Additionally, Wang Shuai’s portion of the work needs to be divided among a few of us developers; he will no longer be our colleague.”
The few people who had transferred from Tianyu widened their eyes.
Someone asked, “Boss, what do you mean?”
Song Yuan said calmly, “He gave the code to Tianyu.
As for what benefits Tianyu gave him, I don’t know.”
After Song Yuan finished speaking, everyone’s jaws dropped.
The brother they fought alongside turned out to be the one who betrayed them.
Everyone found it hard to accept this fact at once, but they believed in Song Yuan’s character even more and wouldn’t wrongly accuse Wang Shuai.
“Boss, will Wang Shuai be sentenced?”
