46: Chapter 46: No Sleep All Night

Song Yuan's mind was not on applying the lotion; he had already touched her, and he wouldn't stop there, even wanting to take a bite.

Thinking this, he acted on it.

Gu Shiyu held his head tightly, and in her overwhelming emotion, she even grabbed his hair.

"Song, Song Yuan..."

Song Yuan realized he still had to listen to his wife; indeed, he shouldn't be applying lotion here, the taste was a bit bitter...

Gu Shiyu kept calling his name; though they were ordinary words, they sounded best when spoken by her.

Song Yuan didn't stop, kissing her continuously until Gu Shiyu, with red eyes, begged him, and only then did he take out the T-shirt he had prepared long ago.

This night was exhausting.

The two barely slept all night, until the incense stick burned out. They only managed to lie down when dawn broke.

Many people suffered from insomnia today.

In another residential area, Lin Xueyao sat on the floor all night, hugging her knees.

She had initially been led home by Qiao Xi and cried loudly, until her voice became hoarse and she couldn't make a sound. Her eyes were blank, staring at one spot, and tears flowed like an open tap, new ones appearing as soon as old ones were wiped away.

Qiao Xi sat beside her, also staying up all night with her. Lin Xueyao at least could cry her heart out, but what about her? She didn't even have a reason to cry; she hadn't even had a chance to enter the game before the contest was already over.

Qiao Xi's sadness was no less than Lin Xueyao's.

Lin Xueyao sat like that all night, her legs and feet numb, until the first ray of sunlight in the morning shone into the living room, and she realized a new day had arrived.

Lin Xueyao licked her chapped lips and asked in a hoarse voice,

"Qiao Xi, what do you think they did last night?"

Qiao Xi didn't want to speak, much less comfort her, but she was afraid Lin Xueyao would go back to pestering Song Yuan. At this moment, she chose to say what Lin Xueyao didn't want to hear.

"It's their wedding night, what else could they do? They couldn't just chat under the covers. Didn't you tell me Song Yuan has a strong desire in that regard? Do you think he could resist a beautiful woman?"

Two lines of tears welled up in Lin Xueyao's eyes. She couldn't help but recall her past with Song Yuan. He liked to kiss her, and when passion was intense, he would bite her there...

He wouldn't do that to that woman, would he?

Lin Xueyao felt that Song Yuan was defiled.

But, no matter what, Song Yuan belonged only to her.

She still couldn't believe that Song Yuan genuinely married that woman. The only possibility was that he was frustrated with her and sought excitement elsewhere.

He would come back eventually.

Or, perhaps nothing happened between them at all. Song Yuan only found Gu Shiyu to deal with relatives and friends, to get revenge on her. Maybe they went their separate ways after the wedding.

Thinking this, Gu Shiyu felt much better.

What she needed to do now was expose Song Yuan's lie, make him stand before her again, coax her as he used to when they were together, apologize to her, and tell her he was wrong for doing those things that made her sad out of spite.

Lin Xueyao opened her phone and scrolled through some old intimate photos. She didn't believe Gu Shiyu would still bother to play along with Song Yuan after seeing these intimate photos.

On the other side, Song Yuan wasn't sleepy, but Gu Shiyu was sleeping in his arms. He remained still, afraid of waking her, observing her sleeping face out of the corner of his eye.

His phone screen lit up, and he glanced at it—it was another message from Gu Shiyuan.

He picked up his phone and unlocked it, startled by the unread messages on WeChat. Gu Shiyuan had sent him hundreds of messages last night. Was his junior brother perhaps gay and secretly in love with him?

Song Yuan read through Gu Shiyuan's messages from the beginning. The main content was for him to throw away that incense and the things he had sent.

Judging by the time Gu Shiyuan sent the messages, he had barely slept all night, bombarding him with messages every few minutes.

Song Yuan felt a shiver down his spine. His junior brother was usually quite normal, why did he harass him all night on his wedding night?

Why was Gu Shiyuan so concerned about his marital life?

The more he thought about it, the more terrifying it became.

Song Yuan didn't dare to reply. He opened Lu Chi's chat window for a private conversation.

"Lu Chi, I've discovered a secret. Junior Brother Gu is very likely gay. Have you noticed any unusual behavior from him?"

Lu Chi replied quickly,

"He's gay? No way, I saw him watching a suggestive female streamer dancing on his phone just the day before yesterday."

"He's just pretending to set up an image for us!"

Lu Chi didn't reply again. Song Yuan lay for a while, then quietly got up.

He estimated that Gu Shiyu would sleep all day, as she was physically exhausted and might not even be able to get out of bed.

He cooked some porridge in the rice cooker, set it to keep warm, left her a note, and returned to the company.

Today, former colleagues were joining the company, and as their boss, he couldn't be absent.

As Song Yuan's car drove into the park, Wang Jincai's call came in,

"Song Yuan, I'm giving you one last notice. I will sue you for embezzlement, and you can wait to receive the court summons. I've given you a hundred chances, but you didn't cherish them. Don't come begging me in the future; I will pursue this to the end!"

Song Yuan executed a perfect parallel park, pulling his car into the parking space.

He scoffed, "It wasn't me who spent that money, so it's none of my business."

"Then I'll await the good news."

Wang Jincai was so angry his stomach hurt. Since firing Song Yuan, he hadn't had a single moment of peace. Every time he came to find Song Yuan or called him, his chest would feel heavy for a long time before recovering.

Song Yuan was truly his bane.

Wang Jincai closed his eyes and composed himself for a moment before sending a message in the large group chat,

"@everyone, team leaders from all groups, come to the large conference room in five minutes for a meeting!"

Five minutes later, Wang Jincai walked into the conference room with his laptop and found it empty.

Normally, when he announced a meeting in the group, his subordinates would arrive at the conference room early and wait. Today, it was strange; not a single person was there.

He sat down and opened the work group chat on WeChat, confirming that his message had been sent successfully.

Perhaps they were busy fixing bugs and didn't see it. Wang Jincai went to pour himself a cup of coffee. After finishing the coffee, still no one came. He felt something was off.

Wang Jincai left the conference room and walked to the work area. At a glance, he noticed that there were fewer people in the work area today than usual, but he hadn't received any leave requests.

He asked, "Where's Li Lei?"

Everyone kept their heads down and ignored him. Everyone knew where the missing few had gone.

Then he noticed that the test team leader's workstation was also empty, and the UI team leader's workstation was empty as well. The computer on the desk wasn't even turned on, and even office supplies like water cups and pen holders were gone.

The desk was completely empty, not looking like it was being used.

Wang Jincai had a bad feeling. He counted carefully; six people were missing.

Those six missing people were all core employees of his team. Without them, it would be very difficult to carry out the work.

He shouted again,

"Who knows where the team leaders from each group went?"
