165: Chapter 165 The So-Called Upper Class
"...This is Mr. Kevin Muller of the Hualefu Group. It is immense luck for your sister to marry into Mr. Kevin's family. I suggest you don't be ungrateful and cause trouble here!"
Looking at the rogue Scarface in front of him, the few thugs behind him, the blonde-haired bastard, and his two bodyguards, Zhou Hong almost laughed out of anger. However, to avoid proactively starting trouble, he still replied politely: "My sister is only fourteen and hasn't reached the legal marriage age, has she? Why doesn't Mr. Kevin wait a few more years?"
"You bastard!" Scarface's expression changed instantly. "Mr. Kevin deigning to come here personally is a blessing for your family. You actually dare to refuse?!"
Zhou Hong's brow furrowed. Although this Scarface wasn't some 'agent,' Zhou Hong had seen him bully others using his connections since childhood. Now that he had someone of uncertain origin backing him up, it was truly difficult to handle.
He had Jiu Hai take his younger siblings to hide beforehand while he stepped forward to deal with it himself.
But in reality, how could a thin guy like him withstand nearly ten large men?
"If he refuses, he refuses. What, have you developed a sense of superiority from being a dog?"
"Jiu Hai?!" Zhou Hong's face turned pale, and he hurriedly turned to look.
Jiu Hai had appeared at the door at some unknown time. Her dark red pupils weren't watching the situation outside the door; instead, her attention was focused on her cane.
"Commander, you should have told me directly." Jiu Hai sighed and then walked to Zhou Hong's side.
"Heh? Zhou Hong, you actually hid such a pretty girl! Mr. Kevin, you..." Scarface's smile became even more lewd. Clearly, he had no idea who was standing in front of him.
"Shut up, you idiot!"
A bodyguard threw Scarface aside, and the group of thugs scrambled to hide near Scarface in fear.
—And even then, Scarface had to praise the other party for the strength of the throw.
The blonde Kevin put on a hypocritical smile. "Miss, according to the regulations, Ship Girls are not allowed to interfere in internal human affairs."
"So what? I'm protecting my Commander's family. What does that have to do with you?"
"That won't do either." Kevin shook his head. "If you insist on blocking me, I will contact the local Military Police to handle the matter."
"You..."
"Oh, sir, don't be so hasty." Kevin spread his hands. "Your sister is a promising talent. Joining our club will be of great help to your future. You'll gain a friend in a large corporation, and that way, your Ship Girl can receive more resources..."
"Absolutely impossible!" Zhou Hong roared.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk..." Jiu Hai clicked her tongue. How could there be such a shameless person in the world?
"Well then... I must call the Military Police..." Kevin's smile vanished. "Your family's ID cards will be revoked. You'll become undocumented and be completely purged—you'd better hope you can stay by your sister's side forever."
He took out his phone, switched to the call interface, and then his expression froze.
"How is this possible? Why is there no signal?"
On the other side...
"Yes, Instructor Lauren, please bring people over immediately... Something's about to go wrong, I have to intervene." Li Ming hung up the phone and then took out a pistol fitted with a silencer from his clothes.
He glanced at the surveillance monitor; the one facing him flickered and then went out completely.
Then he dialed Kano.
"Hello? What is it? I'm busy..."
"I'm preparing to use force. You'd better get over here quickly. If anything happens to me, you can explain it to Fujian."
Li Ming hung up the phone, put it away, and took out the QBZ-192 that Fujian had prepared for A6 from his bracelet.
"Mr. Kevin, if you ask me, a Ship Girl from the academy definitely doesn't have much fuel. She can protect the door, but can she protect the other directions?" Scarface crawled up to offer a plan. "Since the signal is gone, why don't we make some noise..."
"Hmm... alright." Kevin thought for a moment and agreed. If a fire started here, the Military Police would definitely come.
"What are you going to do?!" Zhou Hong's face was pale. "Scarface, you're crazy!"
"Blame your own lack of gratitude!" Scarface pulled a glass oil bottle from his bag and lit it, intending to throw it at the side of the house squeezed in the middle of the alleyway...
*Pfft!*
With a crisp sound, blood spurted from the hand Scarface used to hold the Molotov cocktail. The bottle slipped from his hand and exploded on the ground with a bang.
The group of thugs was instantly splashed with burning oil, and their clothes caught fire. Scarface, in particular, had half his body set ablaze!
"Aaaaaah! —Aaaaaah!—"
They screamed and rolled on the ground.
"Enemy attack!" The two bodyguards drew their guns in that instant, but two louder *pfft* sounds followed, and both were shot in the head and collapsed.
Li Ming stepped out from the shadows, holstered his gun, and then drew a Tang sword.
"Oh dear, what bad luck. You don't have a chance anymore."
As he spoke, he threw a fire extinguishing ball at the wooden structure ignited by the fire.
As for Scarface and the thugs, he didn't bother with them.
A6 followed behind him, her rifle still trailing smoke as she pointed it at the blonde Kevin—she was the one who had fired those two shots just now.
Li Ming looked at Zhou Hong, whose face was still pale as he seemed to be processing the situation.
Jiu Hai, however, breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Commander Li Ming."
"It was nothing..." Li Ming's gaze remained fixed on Kevin. After a thought, he still threw a fire extinguishing ball at the nearly burnt-to-death Scarface, just so he wouldn't actually kick the bucket.
"You, who are you?! What do you want to do?"
Under the lights, Li Ming's face was obscured by the shadow of his hat's brim. He lunged forward to Kevin, kicked him over, and then, before he could say anything, shoved the sword into his mouth to ensure he couldn't continue speaking.
That commotion just now was enough to alert the neighbors.
Glancing at the residents appearing one after another, Li Ming looked at Zhou Hong and used his other hand to pull out his phone and call Lauren again. "You can't stay here anymore. Do as Instructor Lauren instructs."
Then Li Ming looked down at the terror-stricken Kevin. "As for our dear Mr. Kevin, I think we have plenty of time for a good chat, don't we?"
Zhou Hong saw Li Ming throw his phone over and hurriedly caught it.
It wouldn't be good for anyone if today's events blew up, so Li Ming hesitated for a moment and whispered into his earpiece, "Logic, lights out."
With a snap, as the power system was overloaded, the lights in the entire area were completely extinguished.
By the time the surrounding crowd arrived with oil lamps, there were only scorch marks and two corpses; even the guns were gone.
