234: Chapter 234 Liquidation

"What do you need?"

"It's like this, Li... After this operation, we've decided to declare war on the Hunter Gang."

Bourne looked at Li Ming.

The gauze had been removed from Li Ming's face, revealing ordinary features with nothing particularly memorable.

But his actions were enough to make everyone take notice.

"The Hunter Gang?"... Li Ming glanced behind Bourne at his comrades. While they had upgraded their gear significantly with more automatic weapons, according to them, the Hunter Gang was no easy target. "Are you sure?"

"Naturally, it's not just us," Bourne smiled. "This time, the Hunter Gang snatched things right from under our noses, so everyone's decided to deal with them once and for all."

"I can tell you've been putting up with them for a long time."

"You bet. You should know even those werewolves are fed up with them. That shows just how many despicable things they've done." Bourne hesitated. "But we lack the firepower for a direct assault, so we came to you for help."

"I can participate on a personal level," Li Ming replied. "Don't you have any rockets or something?"

"The Hunter Gang has fortified the theater on the north side of the city. The rockets we managed to get can't penetrate all those layers of defense, and using explosives would be too risky."

"No problem. I can help you breach the walls. Just call me when you're ready."

"Tonight. Quick and decisive," Bourne said, fiddling with the M4 in his hands.

Military-grade stuff was definitely better than the old junk they used to have.

"Agreed," Li Ming nodded, showing no objection. "You owe me a favor."

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

That Night

Diller crouched in the ruins, his eyes gleaming strangely behind his mask.

"What's the situation?" Li Ming jumped down from the side.

"Same as usual," Diller replied. "Outer perimeter wire fence, a ditch, and firing positions on the walls."

"Definitely not easy to handle," Li Ming said. "The Hunter Gang is impressive, managing to set up all this."

"Indeed. Are you ready for the breach?"

"Already prepared," Li Ming answered. "As soon as you give the signal, I'll breach the first layer of walls and obstacles immediately. After that, rushing in is up to you. I'll need some time to prepare for breaking through the inner defenses."

"Feasible. Members from other gangs are already hidden nearby. The Hunter Gang will figure it out soon. We don't have much time."

"Then give me the signal once you're ready." Li Ming slipped away quietly.

A faint smile curled under the mask as Diller took the rocket launcher handed by a teammate and aimed it at the makeshift watchtower of the theater.

Timing it carefully, Diller pulled the trigger.

The rocket streaked out with white smoke, hitting the watchtower. With an explosion, the entire tower collapsed.

Then, from other directions, several more rockets were fired at potential firing points and other watchtowers. Some missed, while others hit their marks.

"Vroooomβ€”β€”β€”"

On the main road leading to the theater, beams of light suddenly appeared.

An American heavy-duty truck, towing a small container, plowed through the debris on the road and charged straight toward the theater.

Amid the chaos, the remaining firing points frantically opened fire, spraying bullets at the truck.

But the truck didn't slow down. It detached the container just before hitting the wire fence, then crossed the ditch and smashed through the main gate.

Immediately after, both the truck and the container exploded.

The container and truck, loaded with explosives, blew a massive hole through the wire fence and the front wall.

"Whoooaaaa!"

"Attack! Attack!"

Gunfire erupted all around as armed individuals in various outfits, wielding all sorts of weapons, rushed toward the breach.

Although the light machine guns at the remaining firing points quickly resumed fire, they were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the first assault wave, and the walls were breached.

Soon, the external firing points fell silent.

"Alright, werewolves, let's move."

Diller vaulted out of cover, entered the interior swiftly with his AUG, and quickly located his target based on the map.

He soon pinpointed the location of the inner door.

But clearly, the inner door also had guards.

Seeing the dozen or so teammates who had caught up, he made a few hand signals.

Several of them immediately pulled out Molotov cocktails and hurled them at the firing points near the inner door.

Though most smashed against the walls, one still managed to fly through a window.

Screams came from inside, barely audible amidst the chaotic gunfire and shouts.

"Rocket launcher," Diller ordered.

A rocket shot toward the door, blasting it open.

The machine gunner immediately raised his M249, laying down suppressing fire inside to cover the others as they entered.

Members of other gangs, busy clearing the periphery, heard the commotion and rushed in as well.

Diller quietly cleared a bedroom belonging to a gang lieutenant. The man tried to resist before being riddled with bullets, but it was futile. He and his mistress both met their maker.

Now, only the innermost layer remained.

No surprise, the leader of the Hunter Gang, that fat guy, was probably already figuring out how to escape.

"Underground..."

"Diller! We can't break into the innermost layer!" Bourne ran over, gun in hand. "Where's that guy Li Ming?"

"I heard," Diller snapped back to attention. "I don't know where he is either..."

"BOOM!"

An explosion shook the entire theater, making the ground tremble.

"Looks like he's already solved the problem for us," Diller shrugged and turned to leave.

Bourne watched him walk away with the werewolves, shook his head, and turned back to join the final assault.

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Run, run, run faster...

He struggled to move his portly body, supported by a few trusted aides as they retreated through the dark sewers from his stronghold.

Just... just get out of this place...

He thought to himself, as long as he could reach the Federal Army outpost, he'd be safe!

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Huh?! Who's there?!"

A projectile was thrown out, followed by a blinding flash.

He instinctively fell to the ground, covering his eyes. By the time he recovered, all his aides were down.

The eyes behind the werewolves' masks stared at him in the gloom, scaring him so much he scrambled backward with his legs. Then his support gave way, and he tumbled headfirst into the sludge-filled water channel.

"Ah... aah! No... don't kill me! Don't kill me!..."

Diller hauled him up and took the thick gold chain from around his neck.

Then his face was shoved hard into the sludge.

He struggled, desperate for one more breath.

He didn't know how much time passed before he finally stopped moving.

Diller stood up, fiddling with the gold chain, and noticed it was attached to a USB drive.

"Interesting..."
