120: The monster siege has begun.

The next day, the streets of Heatonmar felt like they were hosting a festival; the place was packed with people, and individuals of various classes stood about, discussing amongst themselves.

Those who didn't know better might have mistaken this Monster Siege for a holiday, as everyone's faces were beaming with excitement and anticipation.

There were also quite a few people shouting loudly to recruit teammates.

Er Gou and Xiao Xiao, the siblings, followed Lin Chuan and looked at the crowd on the streets of Heatonmar, asking excitedly, "Revered Master, can we participate in this event?"

Lin Chuan thought for a moment and said with a smile, "I'll pass, but if you two want to have some fun, go ahead and join. However, you'll need to find two teammates."

Xiao Xiao said happily, "Don't worry, Revered Master, we will definitely be able to find teammates."

Lin Chuan watched his two little disciples leave excitedly, feeling a sense of gratification.

At this moment, Jian Wuxie was distributing supplies to the people in his team.

Jian Wuxie pulled dozens of potions from his pack and said, "Come, let me show you the new potions I've made. I'm already a Rank 2 Alchemist. It's a pity I didn't have enough time, otherwise I could have made even more powerful potions."

Xiao Hongyuan took the potions handed to her by Jian Wuxie and began to examine them.

[Jian Wuxie's Expert Life Potion] Restores 1080 HP upon consumption.

[Jian Wuxie's Expert Mana Potion] Restores 850 MP upon consumption.

Looking at these two potions, Quan Wudi exclaimed in admiration, "This is too amazing! You can make such powerful potions even as a Rank 1 Alchemist?"

Jian Wuxie said proudly, "Naturally. These are much better than what we pick up from monsters, right? But I've spent quite a lot of gold; these Materials aren't cheap."

"Then how much gold is each potion? We'll give you the gold; don't let yourself lose money," A Fei asked with some concern.

"Forget it. Let's treat this first time as a gift to everyone. Besides, didn't we use quite a lot of your supplies too?" Jian Wuxie waved his hand and smiled.

"Oh right, A Fei, what Rank is your Sub-profession, Enchanter?" Xiao Hongyuan asked.

A Fei shook his head and said, "I need a lot of monster enchantment cards to level up my Enchanting Rank. Currently, monster enchantment cards are rare. I've already asked someone to help me collect some cheap ones to practice with, but I haven't received any news yet."

"What about you, Senior Sister? How is your Puppeteer profession going?" Jian Wuxie asked, looking at Xiao Hongyuan.

"I'm Rank 2 as well, and I've already crafted quite a few Rank 1 puppets. Let me give you some." As Xiao Hongyuan spoke, she took several puppets from her bag and handed them to the group.

A Fei took a puppet and examined it.

[Wise Sam] After use, you can summon Wise Sam to assist you in attacking enemies. Wise Sam only lasts for 15 minutes.

"This one?" A Fei hesitated, unable to help but ask.

"It's a Gunner. Since it's a Rank 1 puppet, the skills it knows are very limited, but it can barely help in combat," Xiao Hongyuan explained before A Fei could finish his question.

After speaking, Xiao Hongyuan pointed to the puppet in Jian Wuxie's hand and said, "This one is a Fighter, also a Rank 1 puppet."

Quan Wudi laughed, "Haha, my Sub-profession basically doesn't cost any money. As long as you give me those junk items to disassemble, I can gain experience. I only need to occasionally spend money to repair the Disassembler."

"Then your Sub-profession is really worry-free, Brother Quan. This is great; we won't have to run back to disassemble those items anymore," Jian Wuxie laughed.

Just as the four were chatting and laughing, they suddenly heard a mechanical broadcast sound from the System in their ears:

[Warning! Warning! A massive army of monsters has entered Heatonmar. Adventurers, please head out to eliminate them!]

[The Monster Siege event has officially begun!]

As soon as the broadcast ended, everyone noticed that quite a few monster figures, both familiar and unfamiliar, had appeared on the streets, slowly wandering around.

At the same time, tense and hypnotic music began to play throughout the city, sounding as if someone were playing a flute.

In an instant, the crowd erupted, shouting as they charged toward the monster army. Those who didn't know better might have thought these cultivators were the ones invading, as they appeared even more excited than the monsters.

"It's started! Quick, let's go too," Xiao Hongyuan said.

The four of them hurriedly rushed toward the monster army along with the crowd.

Jian Wuxie noticed that as soon as those Adventurer teams made contact with the monsters, a puff of smoke rose on the spot, and sounds of fighting could be heard from within. Other teams that passed by simply walked right through them.

"It seems it's just like a Dungeon Instance; each team fights independently and doesn't affect the others," A Fei said.

Xiao Hongyuan nodded. Suddenly, she saw a humanoid monster holding a dagger and covered in robes appear ahead, and she ran straight toward it.

The moment they made contact with that humanoid monster, the four felt their vision blur. The people on the street all vanished, and a group of monsters appeared in their place.

"You were right; it's essentially in the form of a Dungeon Instance," Xiao Hongyuan said.

The four of them quickly activated all their statuses, preparing for battle.

Quan Wudi looked at the red monsters on the ground in front of them, which had eight long tentacles and a single green eye on top of their heads, and said, "Damn, these monsters are disgusting; they're just too evil."

Jian Wuxie laughed, "Haha, Brother Quan, our Southern Territory isn't near the sea, but my father once took me to the Eastern Territory. There are fish like this in the sea there called Octopus Monsters; I heard they're quite delicious."

"Eat?" Quan Wudi looked at the Octopus Monsters writhing on the ground and said with disgust, "Give it a rest. Can this thing be eaten?"

Jian Wuxie also looked at the monsters on the ground and frowned, "They look a bit different, but I guess... it should be possible, right?"

"Alright, hurry up and kill them, stop talking nonsense," Xiao Hongyuan said, charging straight into the fray.

Jian Wuxie activated Blood Frenzy and Berserk, then smashed into the monster group with a Mountain Collapse Strike, knocking all the monsters into the air.

A Fei extended his hand and unleashed three Ghost God Formations simultaneously, covering the battlefield.

Xiao Hongyuan initiated with Army Breaker Rising Dragon Strike, rushing into the pile of monsters and knocking the newly landed monsters back into the air. Immediately after, she gripped her sword hilt with one hand and unleashed a Quick Draw Slash.

Quan Wudi was not to be outdone; Sand Throw, poison needle, and bricks appeared endlessly in his hands. Under the influence of the poison, the monsters began to fall into a poisoned state in droves.

Jian Wuxie became more and more excited as he fought. With a Cross Slash, he managed to strike several monsters at once.

He activated Soul Devouring Hand, killing an Octopus Monster while simultaneously boosting his own Strength.

Then, he immediately used Three-Stage Slash to rush into the densest part of the monster group. Stamping his foot, he unleashed Rage Burst; towering blood qi surged up from beneath his feet, killing quite a few more monsters.

A Fei's long blade transformed into a Shadow Whip, directly pulling several Octopus Monsters into his Ghost God Formation. Frost Saya began to manifest ice spikes, attacking the monsters.
