24: Poison Swamp

Looking at the swamp filled with blooming red flowers, Xiao Hongyuan warned, "Everyone be careful, don't touch those flowers."

At this moment, Quan Wudi, who was walking at the very front, felt a bit unwell and dizzy. He spoke up, "What's going on? I'm feeling a bit off."

A Fei shouted at that moment, "Quick, look at your health!"

Hearing this, everyone hurriedly checked and saw that their health was slowly decreasing, and as time passed, the rate of decrease was getting faster.

"Run! Pass through quickly, this swamp is poisonous!" Xiao Hongyuan immediately shouted and took the lead in running.

Jian Wuxie and the other two hurriedly followed behind Xiao Hongyuan, running frantically. At this point, they didn't care if they would touch the red flowers around them; they only wanted to leave the swamp area as quickly as possible.

While running, Quan Wudi asked in surprise, "Xiao Hongyuan, how come you're running faster than all of us? What skill is that?"

Xiao Hongyuan quickly explained, "The clothes I'm wearing were bought from the Mall. Once you have a full set, it increases movement speed. Didn't you guys buy any?"

Quan Wudi and A Fei looked at each other after hearing this. One of them disdained wearing such flashy clothes, while the other simply didn't have enough Spirit Stones, so neither had bought any Avatars.

Jian Wuxie hesitated for a moment, but seeing his health drop faster and faster, he gritted his teeth, quickly pulled out his Lion Plushie Suit, and put it on.

Having just put on the Avatar, Jian Wuxie's speed suddenly increased, becoming even faster than Xiao Hongyuan's.

Xiao Hongyuan said in surprise, "As expected of an Avatar from a Lucky Box; its attributes are indeed better than those bought from the shop!"

A Fei had seen this outfit of Jian Wuxie's before and wasn't surprised, but Quan Wudi was so shocked he stood frozen in place, forgetting he was still in the Venomous Swamp.

"Holy crap, it's over, the poison is getting deeper, I'm seeing hallucinations! I see Jian Wuxie turned into a little lion, and a particularly ridiculous one at that!" Quan Wudi shouted in despair.

Jian Wuxie's face was covered in black lines. He pretended not to hear Quan Wudi's words and just followed Xiao Hongyuan, charging forward.

"Hang in there, I see the end of the Venomous Swamp!" Xiao Hongyuan shouted.

Seeing his health hitting rock bottom, A Fei immediately used a Three-Stage Slash toward the distance. With the speed boost from the skill, he actually wasn't left too far behind by Jian Wuxie.

Xiao Hongyuan and Jian Wuxie were the first to run out of the Venomous Swamp. They quickly checked their health and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw it was no longer decreasing.

A Fei also managed to get out of the Venomous Swamp just before his health reached zero, gasping for breath with lingering fear.

Now only Quan Wudi was still in the Venomous Swamp. He was laughing while struggling to run toward the others.

"Holy crap, I'm doomed, I'm going to die here this time!" Quan Wudi shouted in despair.

Xiao Hongyuan quickly pulled out a potion, threw it toward Quan Wudi, and shouted, "Catch! Drink it quickly!"

At this point, Quan Wudi didn't care what Xiao Hongyuan had given him. He caught the potion bottle and poured it all into his mouth.

A burst of green light emitted from Quan Wudi's body, and an aura of life emerged.

"Holy crap, it's a divine medicine! My health instantly recovered by a third!" Quan Wudi exclaimed in wonder.

With the help of the Shining Remis Kiss, Quan Wudi finally ran out of the Venomous Swamp as well.

The four of them sat by the edge of the Venomous Swamp, gasping for breath as they began to recover their physical strength. Quan Wudi laughed wildly at Jian Wuxie while eating Wild Strawberries.

Jian Wuxie, wearing the lion plushie, had a face full of black lines from Quan Wudi's laughter and hurriedly wanted to take off the Avatar.

"Don't take it off yet. This suit adds too many attributes; wearing it will be beneficial for our upcoming battles!" Xiao Hongyuan advised, and as she spoke, she secretly nudged Quan Wudi to signal him to stop laughing.

Quan Wudi quickly restrained the smile on his face and said, "Damn, if I'd known Avatars were this useful, I would've bought a set too."

A Fei's lips moved, but in the end, he said nothing and silently walked to the side to rest.

Jian Wuxie noticed A Fei's abnormality, walked to his side, and asked, "A Fei, is your Mo Qian Sect very short on Spirit Stones?"

Hearing this, A Fei nodded and said, "Originally we weren't, but since that battle three years ago, our sect has existed in name only. There are also many families of Disciples who died in battle to support, so..."

"You exchanged gold coins for Spirit Stones just for them?" Xiao Hongyuan asked.

A Fei nodded and continued, "I don't have that many Spirit Stones to buy Avatars, but I can still rely on my own efforts to live no worse than anyone else!"

Jian Wuxie and the other two nodded. They didn't offer to give A Fei Spirit Stones. The Law of the Immortal Realm was like this: survival of the fittest. Pity was useless, and offering A Fei Spirit Stones now would be more of an insult to him.

While they were resting, a rustling sound suddenly came from the forest, making them instantly alert. They huddled together on guard.

A group of beasts that looked like lions but were the size of cats emerged from the forest, surrounding the four of them.

"Haha, Jian Wuxie, look, these beasts look just like your clothes!" Quan Wudi joked.

"Don't be careless. These are likely Catkin, be careful!" Xiao Hongyuan warned.

Just as Xiao Hongyuan finished speaking, an orange-yellow Catkin screeched and was the first to pounce.

"Stay right here!" Quan Wudi caught the Catkin with both hands and slammed it onto the ground in the middle of the four with a Backstep Throw.

Xiao Hongyuan very quickly followed up with an Uppercut, launching the Catkin back into the pack.

A Fei flicked his short sword, directly controlling a Catkin at the edge of the pack. Countless sword shadows appeared, spinning around the controlled Catkin and instantly wounding several others nearby.

"Wave Split Slash?" Jian Wuxie blurted out when he saw A Fei's skill, then immediately took advantage of the Catkin controlled in mid-air before it landed to follow up with a Wave Split Slash of his own.

Before the surrounding Catkin could escape, they were hit by Jian Wuxie's second wave of sword shadows, falling to the ground with cries of pain.

At this moment, a silvery-white Catkin within the pack suddenly stood up on its hind legs and raised its two paws. Dense life energy gathered, and the Catkin that had been heavily wounded by A Fei and Jian Wuxie instantly regained their vitality.

"Look there! These Catkin even have healers! We must kill that white Catkin first!" Xiao Hongyuan was the first to spot the silvery-white Catkin.

A Fei and Jian Wuxie both released Three-Stage Slash simultaneously, heading straight for the white Catkin. Any Catkin blocking the way were knocked aside.

Jian Wuxie reached it and shouted, "Mountain Collapse Strike!" Holding his heavy sword, he jumped into the air and slashed directly down at the Catkin.

With immense power combined with the heavy sword's momentum, a single strike heavily wounded the Catkin, leaving it lying on the ground on the verge of death.

A Fei followed up directly with a Ghost Slash, successfully finishing off the white Catkin.

But then, Quan Wudi's cursing was heard from behind, "Damn, these beasts are so fast?"
