85: The Mysterious Merchant Gabriel

Once the Golden Stone Golem stepped into the range of the Ghost God Formation, Jian Wuxie and Xiao Hongyuan immediately covered each other and charged forward.

Xiao Hongyuan's attack speed was incredibly fast; with the enhancement of the Ghost Sword Technique, the light sword in her hand danced with afterimages.

Jian Wuxie, after all, wielded a +12 weapon. Every time he attacked the Golden Stone Golem, the striking sword marks made it clear that his attack power was by no means low.

A Fei, meanwhile, began to run rapidly. As his speed increased, a phantom of a Ghost God appeared behind him, and his body actually became illusory and transparent.

Just as Quan Wudi stood up, he witnessed an incomprehensible scene: A Fei's illusory body passed straight through the Golden Stone Golem's body without meeting any resistance.

The moment he emerged from the Golden Stone Golem's body, A Fei swung his long blade. A bright crescent moon appeared, leaving a long sword mark directly on the ruby on the Golden Stone Golem's chest.

As Xiao Hongyuan attacked, she suddenly felt a premonition and shouted, "Junior Brother, block for a moment!"

She then stood in place, gripping her light sword with the tip pointing diagonally down behind her. Her body was arched, as if she were entering some kind of charging state.

Jian Wuxie dodged a smash from the Golden Stone Golem with a backstep and activated Soul Devouring Hand, extending his Ghost Hand to press against the golden shell.

The Ghost Hand's suction activated. Although no blood appeared, the massive eruption of force in the next moment still pushed the Golden Stone Golem back a step.

Feeling the power boost after activating Soul Devouring Hand, Jian Wuxie swung his Greatsword once more, unleashing a Cross Slash.

The Sword Qi of the Cross Slash sliced across the Golden Stone Golem's body, leaving a deep cross-shaped blade mark.

At this time, A Fei also began charging his Spirit Devouring Ghost Slash, waiting for Jian Wuxie to lure the Stone Giant in front of him before unleashing it.

Xiao Hongyuan remained in that strange posture, unmoving for a long time.

Quan Wudi intended to step forward and help, but his Sand Throw and poison needle skills had no negative effects on this Golden Stone Golem, dealing only a tiny amount of damage.

Helplessly, he could only pick up a brick and smash it against the Golden Stone Golem's body.

Just when he thought it would be useless, to his surprise, the Golden Stone Golem actually entered a stunned state after being hit by Quan Wudi's brick, standing still on the spot.

It was at this moment that A Fei and Xiao Hongyuan moved. A Fei's Spirit Devouring Ghost Slash, carrying the phantom of the Ghost God Bremen, passed through the Golden Stone Golem's body, while Xiao Hongyuan lunged forward with an extremely fast motion, thrusting her light sword straight ahead.

With a 'ding,' the light sword pierced the ruby on the Golden Stone Golem's chest. The ruby suddenly became covered in cracks, looking as if it would shatter in the next instant.

Xiao Hongyuan's strike seemed like a simple forward thrust, but its speed and power were incomparable to an ordinary lunge.

Having taken a heavy blow, the Golden Stone Golem's massive body shifted back uncontrollably a few times as it recovered from the stunned state.

It immediately raised both fists high, its entire body radiating golden light, intending to perform the continuous pounding motion from before.

However, Xiao Hongyuan resumed that strange pose again after the thrust and shouted, "Flowing Heart Leap!"

Her entire being leaped forward, her light sword flashing as it cleaved once more into the crack-riddled ruby.

With a 'clatter,' the ruby instantly shattered into pieces.

The Golden Stone Golem's movements became stiff. It slowly ground to a halt as cracks appeared across its body, then it collapsed with a 'crash' and vanished.

As the Golden Stone Golem collapsed, several items flew out from its body, clattering as they fell to the ground.

Before the group could step forward to see what had dropped, a man's voice suddenly drifted down from the sky.

"Yo, that was a good fight. Very impressive!"

The group looked up to see a long-haired man with bronze-colored skin riding a green Pterodactyl, looking down at them. Numerous bundles were hanging from the Pterodactyl's body.

The four immediately resumed their combat stances, looking warily at the man in the air.

The man spoke as he landed the green dragon, "Don't be nervous, I'm just a traveling merchant. Put your weapons down."

After landing, the man began rummaging through the bundles on the Pterodactyl's back, saying, "Your luck is really something else to run into me. Oh, right, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Gabriel."

Without waiting for the four to respond, he immediately brought three items before them and asked, "Take a look, anything you like?"

The four curiously gathered around and began to examine the three items.

First was a pile of small golden cubes. The four recognized them; there was a chance to obtain them when decomposing equipment, but these golden ones were uncommon.

The second item consisted of several bottles of potions. Quan Wudi curiously checked them.

[Salamander Potion]

After use, it imbues the weapon with a fire attribute attack effect.

This potion was similar to the Jack Frost Potions they had looted before; it temporarily added an elemental attribute to a weapon. While rare, it wasn't considered precious.

What excited the four the most was the third itemβ€”a long blade. The reason for their excitement was none other than the fact that the appearance of this long blade was far too familiar to them.

Jian Wuxie checked the long blade's attributes in disbelief, and it was exactly as he thought.

[ruptured soul blade]

"Hehe, well? Do you like it?" Gabriel asked immediately, seeing Jian Wuxie's excited expression.

Jian Wuxie turned his head and whispered, "It really is the same as A Fei's sword!"

Upon hearing this, the three were naturally very happy, but Xiao Hongyuan asked hesitantly, "Senior, are you really planning to sell this weapon?"

Gabriel laughed. "What's with the 'Senior'? Just call me Gabriel. Since I've brought it out, I'm naturally going to sell it. So, do you like it?"

Jian Wuxie nodded repeatedly. "I like it, I like it very much."

Seeing Jian Wuxie's reaction, Quan Wudi helplessly slapped his own forehead, thinking to himself, 'This idiot. Acting like this, aren't you just waiting for him to rip you off?'

Gabriel let out a hearty laugh. "Hahaha, good! Then for this sword, just give me 3.4 million gold coins."

The moment Gabriel announced the price, the faces of all four darkened.

Seeing their expressions, Gabriel asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Is my price too high?"

"Please wait a moment!" Xiao Hongyuan said, quickly pulling the other three to the side.

"Well? How many gold coins do you all have on you?" Xiao Hongyuan asked softly.

Quan Wudi checked and replied, "I have 80,000."

"The money I made from carrying people through the zombies was all used for reinforcements. I only have about 120,000 left," A Fei said with a sigh.

"I have 100,000," Jian Wuxie said.

Xiao Hongyuan looked at her own bag and sighed. "I only have less than 100,000 as well."

"Then what should we do? Together we only have 400,000 gold coins. Should we ask if he can come back to the city with us, so we can buy some with Spirit Stones?" Jian Wuxie asked.
