173: The most frustrated lord in history
The monsters that hadn't died flew backward. Before they even landed, Quan Wudi and A Fei quickly arrived next to Jian Wuxie.
First was A Fei, who stretched out his Ghost Hand, which was emitting black Qi, and released three Ghost God Formations. He then roared, "Ghost God: Plague Rakshasa, come out!"
A black-purple Formation suddenly superimposed itself onto the three Formations. A new Ghost God appeared in the center of the Formation, its eyes also flashing as it stared at A Fei.
A Fei's control speed was noticeably faster this time. The purple Ghost God quickly became sluggish, its power clearly having been seized by A Fei.
The instant the purple Formation appeared, a Vengeful Spirit suddenly emerged on the monsters inside the Formation, coiling around them and inflicting random negative effects.
Not only did it reduce their speed and defense, but it also inflicted random statuses like bleeding, poisoning, and blindness.
Just as A Fei finished releasing the Ghost God Formation and intended to press the attack, Quan Wudi, standing nearby, suddenly chuckled, throwing a large blue net from his hand that instantly caught every single monster that had just landed.
Quan Wudi then yanked backward, pulling all the monsters right in front of the three of them.
A Fei was stunned for a moment, then quickly attacked, shouting, "Three Ghost Shadow Strikes!"
Under the control of the Ghost God Afterimage Jia Kai on his body, the long saber in A Fei's hand rapidly stabbed three times—up, middle, and down—each strike carrying purple-black Ghost God power.
The monsters hit by these three strikes died instantly if they were already heavily wounded; the others were violently knocked backward.
Jian Wuxie didn't stand idle. He quickly chased after them, stomped his foot, and immediately released Rage Burst.
A burst of blood qi erupted from the ground, launching the monsters into the air while dealing massive damage.
Just as Rage Burst ended, A Fei also rushed over. He stopped in place, held his head with one hand, and entered a Super Armor State.
The next moment, massive tombstones, each as tall as a person and emitting purple-black Death Qi, rained down from the sky, rapidly descending around A Fei's body.
The tombstones struck the few remaining monsters with immense force, dealing massive damage.
Just as countless tombstones crashed down, the massive black Octopus Lord, under the relentless assault of the trio's skills, turned into a white light and vanished.
This was perhaps the most aggrieved Lord to ever die; since its appearance, it hadn't even managed to make an attacking move before being killed by the trio's skill combo.
Even these four people were somewhat incredulous, not expecting the damage from these Advanced skills to be so outrageous—a single combo was enough to kill a Lord without giving it a chance to fight back.
After A Fei's skills ended, he immediately picked up all the items the monsters had dropped.
Xiao Hongyuan asked, "How is it? Do we have enough Specimens for Kelli?"
A Fei glanced at them and said, "The Specimens are enough. Also, I picked up quite a few Badges from these gbl cultists. I'll hand them over to Ophelia later to see if we can exchange them for some experience and Gold Coins."
Jian Wuxie said, "According to Ophelia, Rotus should be in the Second Spine. Judging by those massive tentacles that just appeared, that guy certainly won't be weak."
Quan Wudi laughed, "What's there to be afraid of? If we really can't beat him, I'll go beg the Old Blind Man. His strength is so formidable; I refuse to believe he can't beat this Multi-legged Monster!"
Xiao Hongyuan shook her head helplessly, saying, "Enough chatter, let's hurry back and deliver the Specimens to Kelli first."
The four people exited the Dungeon Instance and received news that the Adventurer difficulty had been unlocked. However, they had no intention of challenging it yet and immediately returned to Kelli.
After handing the Specimens to Kelli, Kelli said, "Excellent. With these Specimens, I can locate Rotus's mental frequency. Now I need to create an Interference Chip."
Xiao Hongyuan asked, "An Interference Chip? Do we need to provide any Materials?"
Kelli said, "Naturally. Did you expect me to pay for it myself?"
Quan Wudi curled his lip and muttered, "Even if we did, you'd still have to pay. Everyone knows you're a money-grubber."
Quan Wudi was still bitter about Kelli forcefully breaking his weapon.
Kelli ignored Quan Wudi and said, "I need two Large White Crystals, 20 Octopus Tentacles, and five Dazzling Crystals."
As soon as they heard Materials were needed, Xiao Hongyuan and the other two immediately looked at A Fei.
A Fei instantly became wary, stepping back two paces and saying, "Don't rush, let me check."
After a moment, A Fei reluctantly pulled out 20 Octopus Tentacles and said, "I only have these. The Dazzling Crystals are produced very rarely. As for the Crystals, we should ask Brother Quan; we gave him all our useless equipment to disassemble!"
Quan Wudi said, "I have plenty of White Crystals, but I've never seen a Large White Crystal!"
Kelli laughed, "Small Crystals are fine. Go find Roger, the Manufacturer; he will process them into Large Crystals for you."
Xiao Hongyuan nodded, and the group went to the street on the West Coast to find Roger.
After submitting 200 Small White Crystals and paying a fee of 2,000 Gold Coins, the four received two Large White Crystals.
"Now we're only missing the Dazzling Crystals. What should we do? Take a trip to Polar Day?" Jian Wuxie asked.
Quan Wudi laughed, "Wait a moment, let's check the Auction House first!"
Quan Wudi opened the Auction House and searched, and sure enough, he found someone selling them.
"Damn, this thing costs 10,000 Gold Coins each! Five of them cost 50,000 Gold Coins! So expensive!" Quan Wudi exclaimed.
"Forget it, just buy them. It saves trouble," said Jian Wuxie.
Helplessly, Quan Wudi took out 50,000 Gold Coins and bought five Crystals.
The four returned to Kelli and handed the Materials to Keli, saying, "We've collected everything. Start making it!"
Quan Wudi said, "Be careful not to waste them. Those Dazzling Crystals cost 410,000 Gold Coins each!"
Unexpectedly, Kelli burst into laughter after hearing this and said, "You guys got scammed, didn't you?"
Quan Wudi immediately felt a bad premonition and asked, "What do you mean?"
Kelli laughed, "I sell these Materials right here! They only cost 2,000 Gold Coins apiece."
"What?! Why didn't you say so earlier?" Quan Wudi roared angrily.
Kelli shrugged and said, "You never asked!"
"This..." All four were speechless now, wanting to refute but not knowing what to say.
Meanwhile, a Loose Cultivator Ghost Swordsman looked at the Gold Coins in his Mailbox and the Auction House sale notification, bursting into laughter. He thought to himself, "I can't believe this trick actually worked. I knew the intelligence levels of people must vary."
Thinking this, he immediately listed all the Materials he had recently bought from Kelli on the Auction House at double the price.
