187: You dare steal our stuff? Don't let me find out who you are!
Dr. Allen looked at the people descending from the plane as if they were rare treasures.
Two Bodyguards jumped off the plane. As soon as they looked up, they saw Dr. Allen had already been rescued onto a boat. The other party seemed to have no intention of engaging with them and quickly sped the boat away.
"What should we do? Should we just let them leave? Should we contact Hydra?"
"No need. Having too many people would be a disadvantage. They won't escape."
As soon as he finished speaking, the rest of the personnel who had exited the research base quickly caught up.
Looking at the helicopter in the distance, which had been reduced to scrap metal, and then glancing at the backs of the two people in front of him, the leading Bodyguard frowned deeply.
He whispered, "What's the situation?"
"Their reinforcements have arrived, but they seem to be local armed forces. The item is still in their hands. We need to get it back. If we don't retrieve that thing, our superiors will have trouble reporting to the Young Master."
The leading Bodyguard nodded upon hearing this and turned to wink at a companion behind him.
The companion nodded in understanding, stepped forward, opened his backpack, and took out a black, technologically sophisticated-looking box.
With two clicks, the box opened, and the contents were instantly activated. Dense, small holes suddenly appeared on the surface of the box.
The next second!
Dense, bee-sized mechanical lifeforms flew out of the holes, exactly 360 of them, forming a black torrent in the air.
Their target was clear. They quickly flew in the direction Dr. Allen and his rescuers had fled. Although they were small, their speed was undeniably fast.
Seeing this, the Bodyguard picked up the box, his eyes fixed on the screen on its surface.
In less than five minutes, a smile spread across his lips.
"We found them."
At the same time!
On the armed boat carrying Dr. Allen, the armed personnel turned to look behind them. Seeing no one pursuing them, they finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Phew~ Who exactly were those people? Why did they jump from such a height as if nothing happened?"
"Not only that, even though their helicopter was hit, they were still completely unharmed."
Well, although they had bled, this was still enough to shock them profoundly.
If it had been them, they would probably have been blown to pieces. How could they be breathing fresh air like this?
Just then, a dark-skinned man with a red cloth wrapped around his head looked at Dr. Allen, bent down, picked up a tote bag at his feet, and threw it over.
He said lightly, "You're Dr. Allen, right? Just in case, put this on."
Looking at the tote bag thrown to him, Dr. Allen couldn't help but show confusion, but he still bent down and opened it.
Inside was nothing valuable, but rather a set of diving gear.
Seeing that he was no longer hesitating, the man reminded him, "Although I don't know what's in the box you're holding, those people's target must be the contents. The mission we received is to ensure that either you or the contents of the box must be safe."
Hearing this, Dr. Allen no longer hesitated and quickly put on the diving suit.
Indeed, as the man said, the contents of the box were what he and his team had developed. If the item was lost, he could probably recreate it given some time, so he couldn't die.
If he died but the item remained, it could probably still be reverse-engineered, though the time it would take would vary.
Just after he finished changing clothes, the armed personnel on the boat suddenly changed expression.
"shit, what is that?"
A man suddenly pointed at the sky, his face full of terror.
Hearing this, everyone looked up. When they clearly saw the objects in the sky, their pupils contracted.
Are those... bees?
"fuck, don't just stand there! Shoot them down!"
Rat-a-tat-a-tat~
The previously calm atmosphere was suddenly filled with continuous gunfire.
Facing the dense hail of bullets, a dozen of the hive bombs were hit. Surprisingly, they did not explode but seemed to lose control, falling directly from the sky, dropping onto both sides of the riverbank and into the middle of the river.
Bang, bang, bang~
A series of explosions rang out. Seeing this, everyone broke into a cold sweat.
This was because they saw the power of the explosions instantly reduce the trees by the river to ash. A five-meter radius was leveled, and even the tallest blades of grass were incinerated.
If that power were unleashed on their armed boat, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Dr. Allen unconsciously swallowed, not daring to hesitate at all. He leaped into the river.
Especially compared to staying on the armed boat, he felt the river was slightly safer.
The rest of the people instantly reacted. The next second, like dumplings dropping into a pot, they all jumped into the river.
The armed leader saw this situation, looked at the briefcase beside him, but ultimately didn't dare to take it, and jumped into the river, following suit.
The enemy was here for the contents of the briefcase. If he took it, and the enemy couldn't find the item, they definitely wouldn't give up.
But he was thinking too naively. The next second, the hive bombs in the sky swooped down like sharp arrows, and their target was simple: the people in the water.
Dozens of hive bombs fell and exploded simultaneously. The scene was like a missile strike, and the river water was thrown several meters high.
The armed boat was instantly flipped over, and the briefcase floated to the surface, drifting away with the current.
Moments later, everything returned to calm. The surrounding river water was stained red, and severed limbs and bodies floated everywhere on the surface.
The remaining hive bombs circling in the sky did not swoop down. They seemed to have received instructions and slowly hovered above the river.
Before long, the special team from Jushen Security arrived, looking at the messy river surface.
The leading Bodyguard whispered, "Find the item."
Before long, the briefcase floating on the river surface was found. Upon opening it, they saw three test tubes containing an unknown liquid. After confirming the contents were intact, they gently closed it.
"Should we send people down to see if there are any survivors?"
"Although it's unnecessary, we might as well use the time. However, we only have ten minutes. We must leave after ten minutes."
The commotion here is quite large. Not to mention the people behind the research base, even the local authorities are probably already on their way.
The remaining hive bombs in the sky were all retrieved. These are treasures that cannot be wasted.
Ten minutes, neither long nor short, was only enough time for them to check this small area of water.
Once the ten minutes were up, all they had seen were corpses, but regardless, they had to leave.
They quickly left with the briefcase. After they departed, dead fish gradually began to float to the river surface.
Fifteen minutes later!
Three armed helicopters flew in from the distance. When the people inside saw the scene, they couldn't help but frown deeply.
"Damn it, who exactly did this? A weapon of this power is clearly not used by ordinary forces."
"We just received news from the research base. There were no survivors, and all surveillance equipment was destroyed. However, judging from the evidence at the scene, our people had no ability to fight back."
"Put the other things aside for now. I want to know why they knew about the existence of this base."
"Are you suggesting... they have someone on our side?"
"It's not impossible. Forget it, let's leave this headache to the higher-ups. Did they find Dr. Allen's body at the base?"
"They haven't found it yet."
"Tell them to search carefully. We need him dead or alive, and don't overlook this area either. If they can't find him, he was likely taken away. Damn it! They dare to steal our property. I hope I never find out who did this."
The white muscular man on the helicopter looked at the river below, his face filled with anger.
