361 Eradicating the Drug King
Mexico!
Outside a suburban manor, gunfire rang out continuously, and the perimeter was littered with corpses lying in every direction.
The area was surrounded by troops so tightly that not a drop of water could leak through. Many Hydra members were mixed in with the soldiers, though they were all wearing military uniforms to conceal their identities.
The manor they had surrounded belonged to the biggest troublemaker in Mexico, the largest power in the country besides Hydra, and the residence of the great drug lord, the Poison King.
Even before Hydra appeared, he had dared to challenge the authorities. The reason he was so arrogant was that he commanded an armed force of over two thousand men.
The authorities viewed him as a thorn in their side, and if the high-ranking officials hadn't valued their own lives so much, they likely would have stopped tolerating him long ago.
There was no other way; the man was a lunatic. If you dared to try and suppress him today, you'd better pray you succeeded; otherwise, you would live the rest of your life in fear.
Because he would spare no expense to have you killed, regardless of your status. He would hire assassins, send armed forces, and most despicably, he promised rewards to ordinary people—anyone who killed a government official would receive a handsome payout.
At that time, his actions caused a massive stir, and after that, no one dared to act rashly. Without a hundred percent certainty, no one dared to move against him.
Over time, the Poison King's prestige grew higher and higher. Unfortunately, times had changed. Now that Hydra was in Mexico, his good days were over.
Originally, Hydra didn't want to wipe him out so quickly, but because of a single word from Wang Shaojun, he had to die!
If the Poison King knew his death was due to someone else's casual remark, one wonders how he would feel.
Although his two-thousand-man armed force wasn't a regular army, they had received professional training. Still, compared to a real military, they were slightly lacking.
Facing the troops outside, they were forced to fight while retreating. Ten minutes later, the gunfire gradually died down as the Poison King's forces retreated into the manor, leaving behind a ground covered in corpses.
Seeing this, the Hydra Minister glanced at the Major General beside him and snorted coldly. "Useless trash. Bring out the heavy weapons! Are you keeping them in the warehouse to rust?"
The other man was furious upon hearing this but dared not speak up. After all, Hydra wasn't some small-time thug like the Poison King, and more importantly, the man was currently his superior officer.
"Um... Minister, we thought we could wipe him out with just light weapons, so we didn't bring the heavy weapons over."
"You... I knew you guys were unreliable. We'll have to rely on ourselves."
With a wave of his hand, the Hydra members saw their Minister give the signal. They turned and went to the Hydra convoy, pulling open the ford doors. Boxes of ammunition were moved out, along with rocket launchers.
Not only that, but at that moment, over a dozen pickup trucks sped toward them, coming to a stop beside the crowd with a tail-whip. A heavy machine gun was mounted on top of each pickup.
"Quick, load them up! fuck, those guys think they can ambush us by hiding in the manor? They're dreaming."
"Damn, I never thought I'd see the day when I could throw my weight around abroad like this. If my childhood friends back home knew, wouldn't they be green with envy? Quick, quick, quick, there's another box of ammo here, load it all onto the pickups! I'm going to blast those bastards! Damn, the more I think about it, the better it feels. Hail Hydra!"
In less than five minutes, all the pickups were ready to go. Each truck had four people: a driver, a machine gunner, a rocket launcher operator, and an ammunition loader.
Seeing this, the Minister nodded to the lead pickup. The driver understood, stepped on the gas, turned the steering wheel, and headed toward the manor.
The machine gunners opened fire first to provide cover. Over a dozen heavy machine guns fired simultaneously, their tongues of fire interlacing, making it so those inside the manor didn't even dare to poke their heads out to return fire.
Dozens of rockets with white tails streaked into the manor. For a time, the sounds of gunfire and explosions rose and fell, and one could vaguely hear faint screams.
The three sounds mixed together, and a sense of panic began to spread through the manor.
Outside, the Hydra Minister saw the scene and turned to the Major General. "Have them send attack helicopters. The Poison King's manor likely has underground tunnels. Patrol the area within a ten-kilometer radius of the manor."
"Understood, I'll call the military base right away."
In fact, it was true. When they had tried to suppress the Poison King before, it was precisely because of their negligence that he had escaped through a secret passage. Because of that, they had paid a heavy price.
On the other side, the pickups gradually approached the manor. Their firepower suddenly concentrated on one spot, and the outer wall could no longer bear the burden.
Everyone inside the manor saw this, their eyes filled with terror.
"shit! Since when did those cowards become so brave? This kind of courage to charge forward without fear of death doesn't look like them at all."
"exclamation! Are you truly stupid or just pretending? Do you think those useless fools could train people like these?"
Meanwhile, inside the central building of the manor, the Poison King listened to the commotion outside, his face incredibly grim.
"How do these guys dare? Was the last lesson not enough? It was so much better when we stayed out of each other's way. Why do they have to cling to me like this? Contact the newspapers. I want to issue a bounty. For every one of them killed, a three hundred us dollars reward, with no upper limit."
However, the lieutenant beside him hesitated to speak, wanting to say something but fearing he might provoke him.
"It's already come to this, say what you have to say quickly."
"Boss, you might not know, but this time it might not be that simple. I saw Hydra people on the other side."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was shocked!
"Oh, shit! What did you say? Hydra people? How is that possible?"
"Exactly. We have no conflict of interest with Hydra. We only sell washing powder. Hydra doesn't seem to have any business in that area, so why would they move against us?"
The Poison King kept a dark face, listening to their discussion. He also felt it was unlikely to be Hydra.
After all, he had never had a conflict with them from start to finish. Not only that, he had issued orders long ago that no matter what, they must not offend Hydra's people.
It could be said that if Hydra's people appeared at one end of the street, they would take a detour at the other end. He was so sensible; there was no reason for Hydra to destroy him.
"Are you sure it's Hydra's people?"
"Yes, Boss. I couldn't be mistaken. I've seen several of them before. Even if they're wearing military uniforms, I would definitely not misidentify them."
Seeing how certain he was, the Poison King couldn't help but fall into deep thought. To this moment, he still couldn't understand what Hydra meant by this.
Wearing military uniforms and mixing in? Could it be that they didn't want the outside world to know?
Moreover, who exactly was standing behind this Hydra? Or rather, which country had pushed out this shit-stirrer?
Unfortunately, no matter how much he racked his brain, he would never guess the truth.
Because no one could imagine that the person controlling Hydra was currently in Hengdian, and was a young man in his early twenties.
