Li Yangqing: This guy is even more arrogant than me.
The idea was great, but reality is often very cruel.
While Li Yangqing was calculating how to kill Huang Lin, Li Weijiang suddenly walked in from outside.
Looking at his son with his head wrapped in bandages, he felt a bit uneasy. Although he knew very well that Li Yangqing was used to being arrogant and overbearing and that trouble would find him sooner or later, this was, after all, his only son.
After glancing at him, he waved for the others in the hospital room to leave. The sound of the door closing immediately pulled Li Yangqing back from his thoughts.
Seeing his father arrive, his eyes lit up. "Dad, you have to avenge me! Huang Lin is too lawless. He dared to wound someone with a gun and beat me up like this. If he doesn't pay the price, who will respect our Li Family in the future?"
Hearing this, Li Weijiang's face showed bitterness. He sat down by the bed and said in a tone of disappointment, "You still have the face to say that? If you hadn't provoked him first, would all this mess have happened today?"
"Forget about revenge. If there's nothing else, come with me now to be discharged and apologize to him. I believe that for my sake, he won't make too much of a fuss."
As soon as these words were spoken, Li Yangqing could hardly believe his ears. Was this still his father, the Vice Chairman of the Securities Regulatory Commission?
It was bad enough that he wouldn't avenge him, but he actually wanted him to apologize to Huang Lin.
Who was the victim here?! The other party had clearly wounded someone with a gun, and the evidence was conclusive. Even without pressure from the Li Family, he should have been punished.
Now he was being asked to apologize; if he did, the other guy would get off scot-free.
However, he soon realized that for his father to make such a decision, Huang Lin must have someone backing him.
Thinking of this, he asked cautiously, "Dad, does he have someone behind him? But this is Hong Kong Island. What kind of heaven-defying background could the Huang Family have to reach all the way here?"
Hearing this, Li Weijiang stared at him for a long moment. "A call came from Kyoto. Do you think they can reach here? Enough, I see you're fine. Change your clothes and come with me to see Huang Lin."
Upon hearing the word 'Kyoto,' Li Yangqing's face instantly withered. If the Li Family Patriarch were still around, perhaps they could be a bit more firm. But now, he had no choice but to lower his head.
Twenty minutes later, inside the interrogation room of the police station.
Huang Lin was slumped over the table, fast asleep. Just then, the door to the interrogation room opened, and the Sergeant from before pushed a small food cart inside.
The noise quickly woke Huang Lin up. He raised his head with bleary eyes as a series of aromas filled the interrogation room.
He hadn't felt hungry, but suddenly his stomach began to growl.
"Brother, do the stations here really offer this kind of treatment?"
Seeing the lobster and the mix of Chinese and Western dishes on the cart—four dishes, one soup, plus a cup of hot milk tea—he couldn't help but swallow his saliva.
This was the first time he had ever eaten in a place like this. He thought to himself: The stations in Hong Kong are really great.
Unexpectedly, the Sergeant's words shattered his fantasy in the next second. "What are you thinking? You think this is a restaurant? Others don't get this treatment, but you're different. Your Old Man is quite capable; he actually managed to get someone from Kyoto to call and protect you."
"Hurry up and eat. Hong Kong isn't safe tonight, so you'll stay here overnight and leave tomorrow morning."
After saying that, he turned and left, leaving Huang Lin stunned in place.
Recalling the man's words, Huang Lin was secretly surprised. Did his family really have such connections?
He had never heard his Old Man mention it. "Forget it, whatever. As long as I'm fine. If I'd known, I should have killed that dog Li Yangqing back then."
He shook his head and murmured, while simultaneously bringing the food from the cart onto the table.
But just as he was eating with gusto, the door opened again. It was the same Sergeant as before, but this time accompanied by two unexpected people.
"Yo, isn't this Young Master Li? Discharged so soon? It seems your injuries weren't that serious! What? The little one got beaten, so the old one came?"
Hearing this, Li Yangqing's face turned ashen. "Huang Lin, don't be too arrogant. Do you really think just because some big shot is covering for you, I won't dare to touch you?"
"Don't forget, you wounded someone with a gun in public. Even if you were thrown into prison right now, those above would have nothing to say."
He thought saying this would give him the upper hand in the conversation, but unfortunately, Huang Lin didn't buy it at all.
Continuing to eat his lobster, he replied indifferently, "You're right, but why am I still perfectly fine? As for your Li Family, you know many things well enough; I don't want to say more."
"If you're here to argue with me, then please leave and don't disturb my late-night snack. If you're here to admit your mistake, then kneel."
Saying this, he dropped the lobster head onto the plate, licked his thumb, spread his legs, pointed at his crotch, and continued, "Remember this? I like to give people a taste of their own medicine."
"Crawl through here on your knees, and I'll forgive you. How about it? That's not an unreasonable request, is it?"
"You..."
Seeing his playful expression, the fire of anger in Li Yangqing's heart flared up.
Even the usually steady Li Weijiang had an extremely ugly expression now. Having his son crawl through someone's crotch in front of him—how was that any different from slapping his own face?
His gloomy face suddenly broke into a hollow laugh as he stepped forward and said, "Huang Lin, right? Let's get acquainted. I am Li Weijiang, his father. As the saying goes, 'no discord, no concord.' You've beaten him, so I assume you've vented your anger."
"I came here today to have him apologize to you. Give me some face and let this matter end here, shall we?"
However, Huang Lin's next words made his anger surge from within.
Huang Lin reached out his oil-covered hand and patted him. "Old Man, of course I wouldn't dare not to give you face."
In the next second, the tone shifted abruptly as he slapped Li Weijiang's face without warning, instantly dazing him.
Even Li Yangqing, standing to the side, found it unbelievable. Huang Lin must be crazy, daring to hit his father. He really didn't know who he was anymore just because he'd gained a bit of momentum.
"You have quite the nerve, but you've come to the wrong person. I won't make you crawl through my crotch; I'm afraid you'll bite me. Now get lost, and stop being an eyesore."
Hearing this, the father and son of the Li Family were filled with suppressed rage. After giving Huang Lin a cold glare, they turned and left.
Huang Lin's series of actions proved that this wasn't over. Staying would only result in further humiliation.
The most miserable one was Li Weijiang, who had come all this way just to get slapped for nothing.
On the way back, Li Yangqing didn't even dare to look at Li Weijiang's face, fearing his father would vent his anger on him.
After returning to the Li residence, Li Yangqing finally asked cautiously, "Dad, you saw it. That kid is even more arrogant than I am. How about we find someone to..."
As he spoke, he raised his hand and made a slicing motion across his neck. The implication was to have Huang Lin taken care of!
