Kyoto International Airport.

At this time, there was a dense crowd, with a large wave of tourists exiting the arrival gate.

Amidst the crowd, Xu Wenjie, looking refreshed, walked out with his luggage. Although he had just endured a long flight, escaping from that wretched place in America, his face carried the relief of liberation and… a hint of theDomineering of a returning king.

Upon reaching the arrival hall, Xu Wenjie’s eyes searched around. Normally, his driver would be waiting for him with a sign, but this time he saw a familiar figure.

It was his father, Xu Jianfang!

Xu Wenjie, incredulous and overjoyed, shouted, “Dad!”

He then quickly walked towards Xu Jianfang, pulling his luggage: “Dad, did you come specially to pick me up? That’s great! Have the family matters been settled? Is the Xu Family ours now? Dad, you’re amazing! I’m so tired of that awful place in America, it’s a godforsaken, utterly boring place!”

He spoke excitedly, chattering on, until he gradually noticed that his father Xu Jianfang’s expression had changed.

Xu Jianfang’s face was ashen, his eyes unfocused, and his suit was wrinkled. He looked utterly distraught and extremely disheveled.

“Dad? What’s wrong? Why do you look so bad? Are you unwell?” Xu Wenjie finally sensed something was off and asked in confusion.

Xu Jianfang suddenly grabbed his son’s arm, his fingers trembling from the force, his voice hoarse and urgent, filled with panic: “It’s over… Wenjie… it’s all over! Everything is gone! Quick! Come with me! It’ll be too late if we delay any longer!”

Xu Wenjie was startled by his father’s appearance, looking utterly bewildered: “Go? Where to, Dad? I just got off the plane! What… what exactly happened? Where’s Grandpa? Where’s Xu Ting?”

“Go, quick, go! This isn’t the place to talk! Quick, go!” Xu Jianfang looked around with alert, panicked eyes, practically dragging Xu Wenjie towards the international departures hall.

Xu Wenjie was also frightened by his father’s demeanor, looking around in a panic, until the two stumbled into a secluded corner, where Xu Jianfang, drenched in sweat, quickly recounted the events.

After listening, Xu Wenjie’s luggage slipped from his hand, falling to the ground, and he was completely stunned.

The excitement and thrill he felt earlier were instantly doused with cold water, leaving only a chilling sensation throughout his body.

“Wh-what, Grandpa… woke up? And he wants you to surrender? Dad, did you really… lay hands on Uncle? Th-this… how is this possible?! Then what do we… what do we do now? Where are we going?”

Xu Wenjie’s voice was on the verge of tears. His imagined life of wealth and glory had been shattered before it even began.

What the hell was going on?

Although Xu Jianfang was also panicked, the madness in his eyes intensified. He slapped Xu Wenjie across the face, forcing him to calm down, and growled, “Don’t be afraid, we’re going to Australia. Once we get there, we’ll be safe.”

The stinging pain on his face made Xu Wenjie somewhat sober. He covered his face, only able to vaguely follow his father’s lead: “Okay… okay… to Australia…”

Xu Jianfang urgently shouted, “Two tickets! The fastest first-class tickets to Australia!”

The staff member checked and politely shook his head: “I’m sorry, sir, all cabins for flights to Australia today and tomorrow are already sold out.”

Xu Jianfang’s heart sank, and he anxiously asked, “Then… then to Canada?! Is there anything fast?”

“Yes, sir, the fastest flight is in four hours.”

Four hours?! Too long! Every minute now could be fatal! Xu Jianfang couldn’t wait!

He then asked about several other developed countries, but either there were no tickets or the wait time was too long.

Finally, the staff member offered a choice: “Sir, among the current international flights, the fastest to depart… is a flight to Southeast Asia, taking off in one hour, with its final destination in the Golden Triangle region…”

“Good, the Golden Triangle it is!” Xu Jianfang gritted his teeth.

The Golden Triangle?

Upon hearing those three words, Xu Wenjie’s face immediately turned green! He almost jumped up directly!

“Dad! Are you crazy? That place is much more chaotic than America! Is that kind of chaotic place fit for humans? Maybe… one day we’ll be… killed by a stray bullet! I’m not going! I’m not going!”

“Shut up!”

Xu Jianfang roared, gripping his son’s shoulders tightly, his face ferocious: “What’s there to be afraid of? It’s just a temporary transit! I have money!! I already transferred over a billion to an overseas account! With this money, we’ll be above everyone there! We’ll still live lavishly, hire bodyguards, buy weapons!! Once the storm passes, who knows, maybe one day we can even come back and reclaim everything!”

His tone was filled with resentment and fury.

“O-over a billion? Holy crap!”

Upon hearing this astronomical figure, a glimmer of greed and hope rekindled in Xu Wenjie’s despairing eyes.

Damn it, if he had that much money, it seemed… it seemed going to the Golden Triangle wasn’t entirely unacceptable?

“Dad? You’re not lying to me? Is there really that much money?” He took a deep breath, asking eagerly.

Xu Jianfang said with a hint of pride: “Of course! Could I just sit and wait for death? I had a backup plan long ago! Quick! Don’t dawdle! Let’s go!”

“Oh… oh, okay!”

“Oh… oh, okay! Buy! Buy quickly!” Xu Wenjie steeled his heart, suppressing his fear, and he and his father quickly bought two tickets to the Golden Triangle.

The two, pulling their luggage, rushed to the exit immigration counter, drenched in sweat. Their panicked expressions immediately caught the attention of the border control officers.

The staff member carefully checked their passports, visas, and flight information, scrutinizing them several times. Xu Jianfang’s heart was in his throat, and cold sweat streamed down his back.

Ultimately, no anomalies were found, and they were stamped and allowed to pass.

It wasn’t until they had passed security, boarded the plane, and watched the cabin door close that the two finally let out a long sigh of relief.

Throughout the journey, Xu Jianfang constantly painted a rosy picture for Xu Wenjie, planning their future life, trying to soothe his inner unease.

After several hours of turbulence and heart-stopping anxiety, they finally arrived safely in a humid small country near the Golden Triangle region.

Stepping out of the airport and onto this unfamiliar land, Xu Jianfang took a deep breath of the exotic air, a twisted smile appearing on his face: “We’re here… finally here… we’re free! No one can touch us now! Hahaha…”

Xu Wenjie looked around somewhat warily. The surroundings were dilapidated buildings and people with various expressions.

The environment here was far worse than in China. If it weren’t for dire necessity, he definitely wouldn’t have come to such a place.

“Dad, what do we do now? Let’s go to a hotel first.”

Xu Jianfang, however, waved his hand confidently: “No rush! First, to the bank! To withdraw money! And let you, my boy, see our true wealth! With money, we can walk around here like kings!”

They took a taxi directly to a local branch of an international bank. Xu Jianfang presented his black card, a symbol of top-tier membership, and as expected, he was warmly received by the staff and ushered into the VIP lounge.

Sitting on the soft sofa, sipping iced drinks, enjoying the air conditioning, and looking out at the dilapidated streetscape, their tense nerves finally completely relaxed.

This was living!

With money, you were a king anywhere!

“Sir, how may I help you?” A bank manager in a suit walked in with a professional smile.

A black card client of this caliber deserved his utmost respect.

Xu Jianfang crossed his legs, and with a haughty demeanor, as if he had returned to his past self, he gently blew on his teacup and instructed, “First, withdraw one hundred thousand US dollars in cash. Also, please check the total balance of my account.”

“No problem, sir, please wait a moment.” The bank manager took the black card with both hands.

After a series of operations on the computer, and verification via iris scan and electronic signature, the page on the tablet refreshed.

Xu Jianfang was smug, ready to enjoy his son’s adoring gaze and the manager’s even more obsequious service.

Xu Wenjie also craned his neck, eager to see the astronomical figure that would allow him to dream peacefully.

However… the bank manager looked at the information on the screen, his professional smile instantly froze, and then became extremely strange and perplexed.

He even looked up, subtly glancing at the father and son with a veiled look.

“What’s wrong? Is there a problem?” Xu Jianfang and Xu Wenjie suddenly had a bad feeling.

The bank manager opened his mouth, seemingly unsure how to speak, and simply silently turned the screen of the tablet he held and handed it to Xu Jianfang.

On the screen, the Swiss bank account interface was crystal clear, displaying a line of characters:

Account Balance: 0.00

Available Balance: 0.00

Seeing this, the expressions on the father and son’s faces instantly froze!

Time seemed to stand still at this moment.
