32: 32. Smuggling

Lu Feng sprinted, quickly ran downstairs, and chased along the elevated corridor.

The other party was walking very fast, seemingly in a hurry, and their direction was surprisingly the underground parking lot.

"Move aside!"

Lu Feng avoided a nursing assistant pushing a medical cart and, at a turn, saw Wu Juan waiting for the elevator at the end of theaisle.

Lu Feng took a breath and sat directly on a nearby chair.

"Forced Dream Entry!"

As his ability activated and his consciousness plunged into an abyss, Lu Feng and Wu Juan simultaneously closed their eyes.

A pungent smell of blood assailed Lu Feng, jolting him awake. Opening his eyes again, he found himself in an operating room.

Blinding light shone directly from above. The hands before him, gloved in rubber, were prying open the abdomen of the person on the operating table, rummaging through a pool of blood, then skillfully cutting off a small section of intestine with a scalpel and rapidly suturing it.

Having experienced Ding Zhiyuan's bloody dream of murdering his wife before, Lu Feng was now able to withstand these stimulating scenes.

It must be said that Doctor Wu Juan's medical skills were superb; such a complex surgery proceeded methodically in her hands, without the slightest hint of panic.

Soon after, the surgery concluded, and under the admiring gazes of the nurses, Wu Juan walked towards the operating room exit.

"The surgery was very successful. Now, with plenty of rest and timely medication, he will recover."

"Thank you, Doctor, thank you, Doctor! You are our family's savior, thank you..."

Wu Juan nodded impassively and then walked away. Reaching the end of the corridor, she took out her phone, checked her missed calls, and then dialed out.

"Zhang San, what's wrong?"

A rough voice on the other end chuckled, "Sister Wu, another donor is coming tonight. I'll have to trouble you to perform the surgery again. Last time, Old Wang's technique was a bit lacking; the organ went bad with a slightly longer transport time. Sister Wu's skill is truly amazing."

Wu Juan thought for a moment and nodded, "Okay, I happen to have time tonight. The usual spot?"

"Yes, I'll park the ambulance in the hospital's underground parking lot. I'll call you when I arrive."

Lu Feng's breathing quickened. It was exactly as he suspected: this doctor was secretly involved in human organ trafficking crimes?!

No wonder she was so anxious and frantic about Lu Dahai's family donating!

The scene before him trembled violently, and the next second, Lu Feng saw "himself" exit the elevator and enter the underground parking lot.

There were very few vehicles in the underground parking lot at night. Wu Juan, familiar with the area, arrived at a corner of the parking lot where an ambulance was parked.

Next to the ambulance, three men were waiting, smoking.

The leader was a slightly overweight middle-aged man, consoling a shabbily dressed man next to him, "It's no big deal, brother. You're doing a good deed, you know? Your generosity will save many uremia patients. This is a great act of charity, and at the same time, you'll get money for your urgent needs. How great is that?"

The man swallowed and said, "Brother Zhang, is it really okay to be missing one kidney?"

Zhang San laughed heartily, "What could be the problem? It's all the same, and it's backed by medical science. Would I lie to you? Don't worry, brother. Oh, the doctor's here."

Wu Juan, wearing a mask, walked over and stated directly, "Zhang San, let's begin. Don't waste time."

Zhang San said cheerfully, "Get in the car, brother. It'll be quick. You'll wake up and it'll be done, guaranteed no pain!"

After the man was led into the ambulance, he lay flat on the stretcher bed. Zhang San closed the car door, and another man, having changed into a white coat, began to administer general anesthesia.

Once the donor lost consciousness, Zhang San took a thick red envelope from his clothes and handed it to Wu Juan, saying, "This kidney still needs to be sent to Xinghai City. The big client there is waiting anxiously; the surgery is for tomorrow morning."

"I understand."

Wu Juan put away the red envelope, then unbuttoned the man's clothes, took out a scalpel, and began the operation.

An hour later, Wu Juan removed the blood-splattered kidney, placed it in a pre-prepared insulated box, and after closing it, said, "It's done."

"Superb medical skill!"

Zhang San gave a thumbs-up, picked up the insulated box, got out of the car, then got into a nearby sedan and drove off in a hurry.

Wu Juan casually sutured the donor's wound, then also got out of the car and left without looking back, as if it were an insignificant matter.

As for where the ambulance would take the donor to recuperate, that was not her concern.

She went to her car, opened the red envelope, counted it—twenty thousand yuan—and then, satisfied, opened the passenger-side glove compartment and tossed the money in.

Inside, there were several other empty red envelopes.

The dream shattered, and Lu Feng opened his eyes in the chair, his gaze icy.

Everything was clear now. It seemed Wu Juan was now preparing to go to the underground parking lot to perform the surgery.

"Move quickly, move quickly!"

The nurse's anxious voice rang out. Lu Feng looked over and saw that Wu Juan had already been placed on a stretcher by the nurses and was being rushed towards the emergency room.

She would wake up in a few minutes.

Lu Feng stood up, looked at his watch. It was eight o'clock. Time was short, so he immediately took out his phone to call the police.

"Hello, is this the police? I want to report a crime. I'm currently at Xinghai City Health Hospital. I just overheard a doctor here talking about a kidney being removed and sent to Xinghai City, and a big client there paying a lot of money, and so on... I suspect they're involved in organ trafficking!"

On the other end, the dispatcher, who had been listening intently, was stunned and couldn't help but say, "Wh-what? Organ trafficking? Are you sure you heard correctly?"

"No, the doctor seemed to be heading to an ambulance in the underground parking lot to perform a surgery. I'm going to follow them to see. Please send someone quickly," Lu Feng said with conviction.

Hearing this, the dispatcher quickly said, "We'll send people over immediately. Do not act rashly. We'll be there soon!"

After hanging up, Lu Feng walked towards the familiar elevator, pressed the button, and went down to the first basement level.

The dimly lit underground parking lot was vast, with only a few scattered cars visible.

Lu Feng slowed his steps and walked towards the east side, then hid behind a pillar, cautiously peeking out towards a corner about ten meters ahead.

An ambulance was indeed parked there, exactly as he had seen in the dream.

Two men dressed as medical personnel were standing by the car, making a call. Although they wore masks, Lu Feng knew that this was Zhang San and his accomplice, the anesthetist.

They chose this location because it was a blind spot for all the surveillance cameras in the parking lot.

"What's going on? Doctor Wu is never late, and now she's not answering her phone? What the hell?!" Zhang San tossed his cigarette butt and frowned.

His accomplice next to him was a bit worried: "Could something have happened?"

"Damn it, no way, right?!"

Zhang San glanced at the brain-dead body inside the half-open car door behind him, his expression turning serious: "I have a bad feeling. Wang Bai, let's leave here first, and then you perform the surgery in the car. Remove his kidney, and I'll rush it over there."

Wang Bai immediately refused: "I don't have the confidence. I'm just an anesthetist. Last time you complained about my technique, and if something goes wrong this time, I can't afford to compensate."

"We can't worry about that much! Time waits for no one, get in the car quickly! Let's leave first!"

Seeing the two men get into the ambulance compartment, Lu Feng frowned. If Lu Dahai was taken away, wouldn't all his efforts be in vain?

No, they can't leave!

The vehicle started, and the roar of the engine filled the air.

Zhang San stepped on the accelerator, speeding towards the exit. Wang Bai in the passenger seat nervously looked around. They had been in this line of work for so long and had never encountered an accident.

Now, the concern was what exactly happened to Wu Juan. If she was caught because their activities were exposed, that would be the worst outcome.

The ambulance was moving very fast; it was clear Zhang San was not calm either.

Just as they were about to reach the turn to the exit, Wang Bai was astonished to realize that the vehicle showed no intention of turning; it was still heading straight for the wall ahead.

"Zhang San, what are you doing?!"

Wang Bai turned his head and saw Zhang San's eyelids drooping, as he leaned back in the seat, asleep.

Watching the wall get closer and closer, Wang Bai was terrified. He reached out to grab the steering wheel, but it was too late.

"Boom!"

The ambulance crashed violently into the concrete wall at a speed of fifty kilometers per hour, the huge sound echoing throughout the entire underground parking lot.
