20: 20. Fighting skills
In the brightly lit metropolis of Kyoto,
Xu Ting was in a luxurious car on her way to the airport. Her eyes weren't on the dazzling city but were intently focused on the tablet in her hand, which was reporting on the incident that almost happened during the college entrance exam in Jiangcheng today.
It also had Lu Feng's photo.
"Chairwoman Xu, are you really not planning to rest for a few more days in Kyoto?" her secretary asked.
Xu Ting smiled and said, "No, this time we achieved a complete victory. Getting Donghai completely in our hands has already achieved our objective. There's no need to stay here and look at Second Uncle's face. Besides, Little Lu, our hero, did something big today. I should go back and celebrate with him."
...Xu Family.
Xu Jianfang was also looking at the report about Lu Feng, his expression utterly calm, but Xu Wenjie, who knew his personality, was as silent as a cicada, not daring to speak.
"You were defeated by this high school student?"
Xu Wenjie nodded silently.
"Xu Ting is rushing back in such a hurry, mostly because of this student?"
"Probably... yes." Cold sweat seeped from Xu Wenjie's forehead.
"Heh..." Xu Jianfang sneered, "Go investigate him. I want to see what his background is."
...It was past eleven at night. Sleepiness crept in, and Lu Feng turned off the light and went to bed after washing up.
Lying in bed with his eyes closed, he involuntarily recalled the collision with the security guard that morning.
Thinking about it now, the risk was very high, too thrilling.
If the other party had noticed him behind him at that moment, reacted a bit faster, and stabbed him with a knife, then he, going up so foolishly, would have been like serving himself up, possibly bleeding on the spot.
This incident also made Lu Feng realize that although he had special abilities, he was still just an ordinary person, flesh and blood.
He couldn't be so adventurous in the future. As he thought this, Lu Feng's consciousness became increasingly blurry.
Returning to the dream space, Lu Feng had a new goal this time. Since he could absorb the knowledge and skills of dream owners, why not look for a master with some strength?
That way, if he encountered something, he would at least have some self-preservation ability.
However, before Lu Feng could even start searching, the entire dream space suddenly changed. The cluster of bubbles suddenly moved, separating and floating two dream bubbles towards him.
Both were yellow-level.
This kind of change was a first. Lu Feng stared in surprise at the two bubbles in front of him. He didn't recognize either name; they were called Shen Pan and Cai Hao, respectively.
Lu Feng curiously looked towards Shen Pan's bubble. Inside was a dimly lit, dilapidated basketball court where two groups of people were confronting each other.
All of them had dyed blonde hair.
Lu Feng raised an eyebrow, a realization dawning on him. Had his control over dreams been strengthened now? Could he attract related dream bubbles based on his needs?
Thinking of this, Lu Feng's heart rate quickened. He reached out and touched a bubble, and his entire being entered it. When he opened his eyes again, he was in one of the blonde-haired youths, who was clearly the dream owner, Shen Pan.
He held a water pipe in his hand and, looking at his equally blonde-haired brothers behind him, felt as if he had divine aid, arrogantly saying, "Damn you, you little punk, no wonder you dared to flirt with your Grandpa Shen's girl. Turns out you've got some skills."
The blonde-haired youth opposite him sat on a 'ghost fire' motorcycle, like a warrior on horseback, looking down disdainfully, "Shen Pan, I have more men than you. If you kneel and crawl under my crotch, I'll let you off, hahaha..."
Shen Pan sneered, "Then let's see if you have what it takes!!"
From Lu Feng's perspective, Shen Pan charged first, leading a few people to fight the other group.
A melee instantly broke out!
As expected of hot-blooded, spirited young men, they fought without restraint, relying entirely on a ruthless and frenzied offense.
Both sides swung their sticks wildly, and occasionally, modified 'ghost fire' motorcycles would crash in. The scene was a chaotic mess. Before long, Shen Pan was hit from behind with a stick, his head bleeding, but he wildly counterattacked, pulling down the arrogant blonde-haired leader who was riding the 'ghost fire' motorcycle and beating him with sticks.
The other blonde-haired youths under him, seeing their boss so formidable, fought back like they were injected with adrenaline.
Before long, the dozen or so opponents were beaten and fled, leaving only the blonde-haired leader who was initially on the 'ghost fire' motorcycle pinned to the ground, begging for mercy with a bloodied face.
"Hahaha, you little trash, your Grandpa Shen was fighting in the streets when you were still playing with mud. You want to fight me? In your next life! Pfft!"
A spit landed on the opponent, and Shen Pan laughed arrogantly.
Lu Feng shook his head, emerging from the dream bubble, feeling the inexplicable muscle memory that had been added to his body. This confirmed his idea.
He had learned the blonde-haired youth's street fighting techniques. Although they were called techniques, they were mostly dirty tricks, like hitting from behind with a stick, groin kicks, and so on. Essentially, it was still a wild brawl, a matter of who was more ruthless, and not very useful.
However, this ability to direct dream capturing was very convenient.
He eagerly looked towards Cai Hao's dream. This time, it was in a boxing gym, under a large sign that read "Free Combat." A muscular man was performing whip kicks against a sandbag.
Seeing the explosive power in every move, Lu Feng's eyes lit up.
Free combat? That's a good style of boxing. He once again entered the dream. As soon as he possessed the body, Lu Feng felt a surge of muscle memory.
The sandbags in the gym thumped loudly, and all the combat techniques instantly flooded his mind, with muscle memory increasing little by little.
The scenery suddenly changed. Spotlights shone down, and Lu Feng found himself standing in an octagon cage, the roars of the surrounding audience surging like a tide.
Such a passionate scene made Lu Feng's breathing quicken.
In a blink of an eye, Cai Hao charged out, colliding with his opponent like a beast, sweat and the smell of blood mixing together.
Amidst the referee's shouts, straight punches, whip kicks, feints, and the whistling wind in his ears, Lu Feng experienced a peculiar sense of fluidity.
The most spectacular moment was when the opponent delivered a high kick, which Cai Hao dodged with a lightning-fast dip, grabbing and throwing him backward, using both hands and feet to instantly form a crucifix lock.
The opponent could only tap the ground in submission.
The exhilarating battle was clearly the dream owner's glorious moment. As he raised the trophy, drenched in sweat, Lu Feng could also feel the joy of victory, and then... the dream ended.
Upon waking, Lu Feng didn't hesitate. He quickly got up, stood in front of the mirror, and continuously swung his arms, throwing a combination of punches into the air.
He had never learned them, yet each punch felt familiar, flowing as smoothly as an old boxer who had been immersed in the art for many years.
Straight punches, hooks, front kicks, roundhouse kicks, catching punches, throws, and other techniques came naturally. Looking at himself in the mirror, there was even a trace of the fierce glint from the ring in his eyes.
However, what disappointed Lu Feng was that while muscle memory could be inherited, muscles could not. Although his every punch was the same, the power was much weaker than the dream owner's, and so was his stamina.
Skills were maxed out, but his physical body couldn't keep up. He had only just swung a whip kick halfway when his thigh almost cramped.
Lu Feng rubbed his sore muscles and said with a wry smile, "It seems I need to make a fitness plan."
